man I would love more lessons on how to appropriately use delays along with tap tempo from you. you always do a great job of breaking it down to a simple, nonintimidating science. thank you for doing what you do!
Bill, Valhalla DSP just released a new Delay/Reverb vst for free, it's called Super Massive and you're going to want to try that out, lots of fun just in the presets alone.
You can put the Iridium in the signal chain wherever you like. I generally prefer it before the volume pedal and delay/time effects unless I am using its stereo inputs.
it sounds like your delay pedal mutes the first and then every 4th delay repetition, to give it that "galopping" sound? made me think about ways to maybe reproduce that with a combination of 2 cheap "normal" delay pedals... one does the 1st and 3rd repetition and the other one does the middle one. Now I have no idea what exactly that means in note lengths but I think it might work.... will test right now :D
I have a question about recording, did you direct out from DIG to interface? I always put my Iridium at last one, I wonder if I can chain it first then go to other pedal to interface.
@@chordsoforion very interesting, i haven't had good luck with modeling amps, i always prefer my mic'd princeton, but this one seems perfect and way cheaper than a fractal... thanks for all your cool videos

One of my favorite youtube channels. Thank you!
This is a wonderfully simple way to vary your sound. Thanks for covering techniques like this!
Super interesting breakdown, thanks Bill
The timing is perfect, thank you for the great video!
Great sound. fun playing with this rhythm.
excellent explanation, thanks for this!
Acá , este Mexica también aprendiendo de esta maravilla, gracias maestro!!
Great video, thanks Bill.
Hi Bill, I've used hybrid picking in country music but it sounds great in ambient guitar !
Very cool that you are using it in country. A time honored tradition!
Never tried this before. Just picked up guitar and tried it out. Sounds great! Thank you! :)
Great video, you became my reference for ambient guitar tks for sharing
Thanks very much!
I really enjoyed this lesson ! Your my influence into ambient guitar, thanks for all you doz
Great instruction. Thank you!
Sounding good bill !. Also first one here !.
very useful, thanks
Delay is easily the most powerful pedal on guitar imo

oooh. Hadn't seen that one. Will be downloading today. Thanks for the tip!
Hi Bill, thanks for the lesson. Query, the Iridium does not go to the end of the chain of pedals ?. Thank you very much in advance

@@chordsoforion Thanks a lot for you time.

I think it should be one reverb set to dotted 4th and one to dotted 1/2 if that makes sense?

Yes - the DIG was last in the chain. I generally prefer delays and reverbs after the amp modeler. Experiment with your rig to see what you like best.
The link to your site isn't working, Bill.
Hi Bill I’ve already got the Dig on your recommendation, should I get the Deco as well? Cheers Pete
I can't say. Do you need its capabilities? If so, it's a great pedal.
how do you like the iridium for direct recording? i want one, possibly
Iridium = fabulous for recording. As much as I love some of my other amp modelers, the Iridium keeps calling me back.

Life changing excuse me a moment while I choke on my laughter you are a joke sir.
That's what all my kids say about me. :-)
I like the hybrid picking but why not free up the index finger by learning to play with a thumb pick?
Sure! I have a video on thumbpicking and use one frequently. I do view both options as different and legit techniques that produce different results.
Another super fantastic tutorial. I'm just starting out my elementary attempts at hybrid picking.
Love that Holdsworth Fatboy.
