I really like model l series because my school has the spscwl, spswl, and the p2r. My school does voice evac but they don’t talk sometimes, they just cut off and then beep again. Nice video by the way!

The L series also has more modularity. It has attachable plates with different lettering. Both have lenses, but the L series just looks more sleek.

My favorite fire alarm system is a Notifier Onyx panel set to slow whoop and female voice evacuation message, NBG12LX, Notifier detectors, and L series speakers strobes.

Tbh., I really like the L Series system sensor horn strobe a lot better because I have to totally agree a hundred percent that it does look modern and as it looks somewhat similar to the SpectrAlert classic!!

I prefer the L-Series over the advances but I prefer the Classics over both. I think the L-Series was a upgrade. My school used to have advances but recently they replaced them with L-Series devices with some weather proof advances inside and outside. My school went with the Voice Evac option as well.

I honestly think that both alarms are equal. Because the l seires has a modern design while the advance has better quality. But I do like the l series a bit more because of the add ons how you can change the strobe color and the letter plate.

    • @Picklebean72

I was traumatized by a Wheelock AS because my asshole teachers refused to warn me of fire drills despite my obvious fear of loud noises. The anxiety was too much and every day I was worried there was gonna be a drill.

I don’t remember my pre-schools fire alarm systems. I only know of 3. One was at my old elementary school (with Spectralert Classics on a SK system) and this one is the one I only remembered. One of them had some weird system with Spectralert Classics with radionics smokes and BG8s. Then one of them had a Notifier AFP-200 system with 90s Gentex devices then got replaced with a SK system with Spectralert Advances.

I like both alarms. My favourite L series are horn only's. I don't like the strobe design. They should've gone for LED. I do like the strobes on the Advanced.

The strobe on the l series isn’t ceiling rated like the advance is

  • @thefuturefrontierpilot75

A not very noticeable difference is that the L series is a bit quieter. Also, the L series doesn’t have a weatherproof version like the advance does. I like the advance better
