The clubs you were using were dated somewhere between 1900 and 1935. Clubs from before 1900 had smooth faces rather than grooved or dot punched faces, and the heads of the woods used a splice joint rather than the socket joint you saw fail on the course. Clubs made from 1935 onward were steel shafted.

Cool as video I hadn’t somehow ever seen, despite watching your original channel and all the way thru this trial with Brody and into good good….you guys need to check out the National hickory open each year at Detroit country club I believe or some course in that area and you must use only clubs manufactured 1935 or earlier and the competitors even dress them part and what started out as a little local club tournament has grown to a huge inaugural tourney there and people even come from not just across the nation to play in it, but even internationally as well. The good good team making a trip there to play in the tourney would be amazing content I think.
Garrett on the tee: we cannot swing hard with these clubs because they'll go crazy Brodie 10 seconds later on his 2nd shot: swings out of his mind in tall grass.
