Yes, just figuring out how to make our videos quicker and more entertaining..... they do take a lot of time but do want to share with those who are interested, we will get better and quicker......Cheers. Michel
Love the video. I just bought a toy hauler and if I could make one suggestion about tying down the bikes. Look into a unit called the biker bar. No straps required. Best investment I made. You can look it up on you tube. Great video love the views of the ocean. Safe riding.
Yep, first time camping with RV, only thing we did wrong was pick this place to go to....it was very nice and being new we thought every RV park was like this, should have started from the bottom and moved up, still enjoying it now, just moving our home around the country 😎👍. .
very nice place, not sure as beginners this should have been our first stop, gets expectations set high for other places...... since then we decided this what we want to do and bought a new unit, stated a toy hauler page... michelmarciamotorcycletrips.com/toyhaulerstrips.html
was a great place, should have started at a not so nice place to keep expectation lower lol.. since then decided this is what we want to do, so bought new unit and hopefully in another year we will be hitting the road also started a toy hauler page on our website at: michelmarciamotorcycletrips.com/toyhaulerstrips.html
Thanks Greg, we use to have a boat and went on a lot of trips, the fifth we both keep calling it the boat! We are definitely looking forward to a lot of adventures, meeting our Facebook buddies and doing a lot of motorcycle riding and having our dogs with us..... still have a few things to do to be 100% ready for the road.....almost there.... See you on the road......
My husband and I are going to the St. Louis RV show next month to pick out a toy hauler. We have a Harley Trike and love to do what we refer to as “trike and hikes”. Watching your video makes me more excited to begin our next big adventure! Thanks for sharing this video!
First of your vids I'm watching and so far so, so good. I'm from Dunnellon area but live in Live Oak now. Been thinking of getting a toy hauler for myself.
There are hotels right there in Cedar Key, and a few restaurants has a lot of tourist visiting it... www.tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g34126-Cedar_Key_Florida-Vacations.html
I saw your link to the bolt mounts. Could you show me a photo of the motorcycle chocks? Can you remove your chocks when the bikes are out? Can you get the back bed or top bed down enough with the bikes in to not have to back out the bikes. Could you do that with one bike? We are looking at a 2016 332 TS Raptor and the guys are fighting mounting a removeabvle chock. Noone at the dealer yet mentioned there may be tanks under the bed making it tough to mount the chocks. But you put two boikes in there!! I have a 1994 heritage Softail with windshield.8 ft by 3 feet across high rise bars by 4'11". Most of my friends have softails and I'd like to take them on a few trips. My best friend's bike is34" x 92 x 7.5'. I've got a deposit pending on being able to put one or two bikes in the garage. it is 12/15/2016. You seem to be the only person that is not putting anything but dirt bikes or four wheelers in there and I'm betting the dealers don't tell you it is tricky on purpose. Thanks for the video and I'm looking forward to your response, Shane
Hey Shane right at this moment I don't have a picture of our chocks but I have a link that I found and just for the purpose for you to see what the chocks look like I'm going to send you that link or post it here. I got our chocks from Harbor Freight and you can get them a lot of times for around 50 something dollars yes I pulled the chocks out every time we go and have plastic plugs for the holes to make it neat. Our garage converts into a den with my desk and 32" tv, the chocks come apart so I store them in the back corners under the U shaped couch, my chocks are there mainly so I have a reference point every time I load the bikes they're not very structured I have them just to put the bikes in the same location each time and those chocks allow me to get off the bike and take my time strapping them down. They are not bolted through the floor I kind of call what I bought and put on the floor kind of like T-nuts they're only like three quarters of an inch deep, 1/2 coarse thread, and I was very careful drilling into the deck because I too was concerned about the fuel tank and it auxiliary fuel tank underneath now I have taken the bed out on the top I still have the u shaped couch which can sleep two people but the main thing I wanted was more headroom when I loaded bikes, and see my ceiling and my fan plus better lighting, I also modified the bracket for the U shaped couch so I can rely on the automatic cut off switch when raising the couch, with two bikes you would have to be pretty athletic to lower the couch so that you can sleep back there, very crowed, also if the slides are in on our unit you can't access the rest of the unit you have to go out the side door now if you only have one bike in there you probably could make it work. I did get an extra row of chocks installed because the very back ones i don't use. Here is a link what the chocks look like, I did not do any modifications on the bottom etc.... th-cam.com/video/yLEa-uic6lw/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps you....
Heck, that should be good enough (lol) to venture further out and not have to ride the bikes long distance, but what about the posse , I guess they all need 5th wheels too. lol
The posse has got smaller and smaller, our last two big trips it just has been the 4 of us. We want to start checking places like Texas Hill country, Sturgis (when it's not crowded) etc.... always hate leaving the dogs, rv parks are about the same cost as boarding our dogs. We still will be setting up overnight and birthday rides with the posse....
Not to make this long, but my wife and I like to take rides or trailer the bike by ourselves sometimes, you can kind of do your own thing , we have an indoor/outdoor cat we have to board, of course he has to have the cat condo suite.(spoiled). we don't mind the extra cost. I still work full time so we can't make to many long trips a year. Nice setup ya'll have for travel. Always enjoy your vlogs.Safe travels.
I wished you showed how you loaded your bikes into that space, instead of a before and after. I've been thinking of getting a toy hauler, but can't get past what amounts to a space that cant be used for anything while the bikes are outside of the trailer. Yes, some people have bunks that drop down and some people might put a huge dining table in there... but we don't see ourselves needing either of those... so the shopping for a trailer continues.
motorcyclefreedom So is mine. I've been toying with the idea of 5th wheel but I'm concerned with the tongue weight. What model is your Raptor? Have you pulled it in the mountains yet?
FireRescueFL our raptor is it MP300 I believe which is a tandem axle 35 foot 4 inches I think has a 10 foot garage made two trips so far to the mountains had no problem Towing kind of amazed me I was still getting 10.1 miles per gallon regardless of mountains or Flatlands not sure how that worked out had no problems with brakes and when the grade got real steep the truck had its own jake brakes like. hi come to believe that I could have got away with the regular 5th wheel hitch instead of getting the slider hitch because I don't even slide hitch anymore I leave it in Towing mode and seem to be able to do a hard 90 degree turn with it only thing I will change is get rid of China tires and put regular American-made tires for light truck tires on it other than that I'm satisfied with the power to Towing they say you won't notice it behind you well that isn't exactly true there's no swaying I can say that some bouncing and there are times that you will look in the mirror to see if it's still behind you but get a little rough road and you'll know it hope this helps out hope this voice to text works right to
motorcyclefreedom Thanks for the reply! Sounds like I should look a little more seriously going that route. Did make any modifications to your 3/4 ton's suspension? Air Bags or helper springs or anything?
FireRescueFL no when I first bought it I thought I would be adding airbags to it but I noticed the truck in the rear end sticks up higher than the front anyway so when I do loaded with the trailer it looks nice I mean the front part of the fifth wheel that overlaps the truck and the back part of the fifth wheel that overlaps on the bed they're both about the same height looks very level so I'm going to leave it like it is I did not put no chip in the vehicle maybe one day when some of the warranties off for the tranny and drivetrain I'm a but I doubt it I mean with all the manufacturers with their diesels there up there I think I'm sitting at 397 for horsepower and I forgot what the torque is 740 plus I don't know if any other add-on I would get it would be probably big mud flaps for the back tires so I won't throw anything onto the fifth wheel I just thought of one thing maybe and that is so towing mirrors now I got the Chevrolet and I found some real good deals on towing mirrors and I read a lot of confusion with the hook up to replace the factory mirrors which brought it to a point where I didn't order any mirrors because I couldn't get a firm answer most the answers were it wouldn't work so I bought some slide over mirrors which look good and I'll just leave them on there I can see down the left side very good the right side, I swing the trailer a little to see it but I also bought a Garmin GPS and I bought it with the attachment for the rear-view camera and the extension for the cord for that even though it's wireless so when I do pull out I can look back at my camera which is only for very close objects just to see if it's all clear when I do change lanes, wired it up to my parking lights so whenever I went the camera instead of going to the GPS I just turn my parking lights on for a second the camera becomes live turn it off and it's back to GPS hope this helps
I know...... bikes are fine mine will be 3 years old in October and just turned 67,000 miles, Marcia's will be a year old September 28th she got over 16,000 miles ... Tent bag...... after a divorce and having to live in a tent for several months ......that's over with a long time ago for me..... love opening up the territory and having home with us.......

Interesting.
