This is so sad. I lived in Florida in the early 2000's and kept snakes. Reptile stores were everywhere and I was too young to understand wild caught snakes. I had Ball pythons and a smaller Suriname Red tail Boa (which was wild caught and only lived 5 years) but I was in awe when I saw a Burmese Python in a store. I can see how it got out of hand. I'm in my 30's now and keep fish aquariums but avoid wild caught fish. I'd love to breed fish species that are extinct in the wild soon.
Sounds like you're sorry they caught wild animals like snakes and fish. And sounds like you were clueless that YOU, along with hundreds others WERE the problem that came to this COMPLETE CATASTROPHE anhilating 90%of fury mammals in the Everglades which will soon be renamed The Not-Foreverglades thanks to your ilk!
@Tose it stops several animals from dying and ruining the ecosystem. Pythons were never supposed to be there. Whenever you remove or add an animal to the ecosystem everything is threatened
She was a big snake, but I was at a reptile swap back in the late 80s when these 3 guys brought in a 24-footer; at least twice as big around. Ginormous.
Fun fact: Pythons ended up in Florida swap lands after a hurricane destroyed a lizard rescue. They then bred like rabbits. These Pythons are massive and have big appetites
Wrong! God's work is to have a paradise as it was in the beginning where all his creation can live together in peace. These men are simply trying to correct another man made problem.
Pythons are now established in Florida and soon to be other states. These control type programs may make people feel better but don't do anything to control their population. Two snakes could easily reestablish all of the ones taken. Best thing to do is try and keep other animals out so they don't wind up becoming invasive species too. It only takes a few of them and some careless or stupid people to create a massive problem.
@@yhegjddg438it's idiotic thinking like that, that will get people to start breeding them illegally for the specific purpose of claiming the bounty. Countries trying that garbage with rat's tails found that out, the hard way.
Yeah but at least they're trying. If we did nothing, the problem would be a lot worse. Plus humans have and can drive any animal to extinction if we are determined enough. Just look at how many animals that went extinct because of us due to fear, overhunting, etc. Plus with the amount they're paying people for catching pythons I have no doubt we can keep them controlled. Money is truly an amazing motivator.
@@chrisbgoodv2178not really. It wouldn't be worth it. They would have to buy a lot of pythons which isnt cheap and then raise them for awhile until they get big enough. They have to be at least 4 feet to even claim the 50 dollar base price. So it really isn't worth it. All that money would go right back to raising and feeding them. Plus its not like anyone can catch pythons and get rewarded. Pretty sure you need to have a permit and be registered with the state of Florida. In the video the guy said that currently they only have 25 contractors working with the state of Florida although that number may have risen recently.
It's unfortunate, but when it comes to invasive species we're the ones that started the problem and threw things out of whack. We're responsible for fixing it. If you are upset about the culling of invasive species (and trust me, I know it's sad), keep in mind that by reducing the invasive population you are saving many native species.
Very very dangerous jobs. For those westerners that watch this I am an South Eastern Asian living in Indonesia and can say that a giant non venomous snake is no less dangerous or perhaps much more dangerous than venomous one. There were so many hunters that die in Indonesia because of this guys
Oh yeah theres a video on youtube where a guy tried catching a python in Florida and even though he caught it, it bit him really good and he was dripping blood everywhere! He said had it gotten his artery it could've been a lot worse and he could bleed out and die just like that.
I had a customer who came in to my work ( I handle snakes for a living) and they were from florida. We chatted and the husband told me that before heading up to washington, he went into their garage to finish their packing and he saw a 20 - 23 footer python chilling in the center of his garage. He said "I seen the damn thing and turned around, told my wife and continued to put our bags in the car. when we start to hop in the car, the damn thing slithered off, he just wanted to check on us"
Florida just straight up banned the ownership of pythons. Venomous snakes require multiple permits, hundreds of hours in apprenticeships, yearly inspections, and strict laws, and yet it's pretty common to hear on the news that some escape. It's time to just make them outright illegal.

@@iamnemoo So everyone with a snake is responsible for every bad snake owner? Do you think everyone with a dog is responsible for every bad dog owner? They had a hard time getting the okay to do this because they don't want hunting in these protected areas. So its an application process. Imagine some untrained person out there.no thank you.. But clearly the problem is so out of control these few people who are allowed will only be of minimal help.
I feel so bad for the snakes (obviously they have to be controlled/eradicated, and i think its absolutely important/moral to hunt them, but i still feel bad for them after ive held and fed a pet burm, and seen their eyes process what you actually are)

0:16 Talks about pythons clearly shows an anaconda. I was like, "there gonna release anacondas to combat pythons, do they not have nursery rhymes in Florida?"
Same 😂
yea i was like ''wtf in couple of years you gonna have anaconda problem''
@@baris.ozkaya I think anacondas are also a problem, just not as widespread as pythons

And a hat too :D
Hopefully, those boots are made for walkin', because we know what the ocean is going to do.
They aren't native to the Everglades thats why they are doing what they are doing and it's good
@@logansavage9333how’s it good
@Tose it stops several animals from dying and ruining the ecosystem. Pythons were never supposed to be there. Whenever you remove or add an animal to the ecosystem everything is threatened
Did you watch the video? It clearly explains it. They’re extremely invasive and killing native populations
"Group Hug!!!"
"I love the smell of humans in the morning"

She was a big snake, but I was at a reptile swap back in the late 80s when these 3 guys brought in a 24-footer; at least twice as big around. Ginormous.
Yes, yes!!! History says a pet SNAIL had been released into nature & it will eat paint off a house!!!
th-cam.com/video/e54YmXJetPg/w-d-xo.html
Setup a market for it in the food industry like they did with the Asian carp, the population could decrease even more.
Their meat is too high in mercury. Its okay to eat very rarely but they can't be sold, maybe their skin tho.

These snakes are truly mesmerizing, with fear and respect at the same time. Very strong and majestic creatures.
Fun fact: Pythons ended up in Florida swap lands after a hurricane destroyed a lizard rescue. They then bred like rabbits. These Pythons are massive and have big appetites
Then ate all the Rabbits.
Fun fact: they literally said that in the beginning of the video 🤣😂
Thanks for regurgitating exactly what the video said.
They literally mentioned Hurricane Andrew in the video
Release the CRAZY on them! It's Florida afterall! Seriously, these guys are doing a good thing.
"Easy, easy, easy" proceeds to trip, fall, and dive onto the snake.
Pretty rough & tumble to get success out there
These men are doing God’s work. Thank yous for saving this ecosystem
Wrong! God's work is to have a paradise as it was in the beginning where all his creation can live together in peace. These men are simply trying to correct another man made problem.
@@Andy-yo3hd Man-made problem? I think you need to do some research on invasive species

They killed the snake. No need for an autopsy. I accept cash
Necroposy, not autopsy.
Trust me, with enough money to motivate people this issue will be solved in under 2 years.
For every snake caught give 1000$ and for big ones more.
@@yhegjddg438it's idiotic thinking like that, that will get people to start breeding them illegally for the specific purpose of claiming the bounty.
Countries trying that garbage with rat's tails found that out, the hard way.
One snake for 1000 Bucks? Ahahahahahahahahahahaha keep your dirty money

There were so many hunters that die in Indonesia because of this guys
th-cam.com/video/e54YmXJetPg/w-d-xo.html
Oh yeah theres a video on youtube where a guy tried catching a python in Florida and even though he caught it, it bit him really good and he was dripping blood everywhere! He said had it gotten his artery it could've been a lot worse and he could bleed out and die just like that.
Anyone caught releasing pythons should get a minimum of 10 years in prison.
Should be sent to the least strong Floridian (this is a death sentence)
I had a customer who came in to my work ( I handle snakes for a living) and they were from florida. We chatted and the husband told me that before heading up to washington, he went into their garage to finish their packing and he saw a 20 - 23 footer python chilling in the center of his garage. He said "I seen the damn thing and turned around, told my wife and continued to put our bags in the car. when we start to hop in the car, the damn thing slithered off, he just wanted to check on us"
Owning evasive animals should require license, permit, yearly visits, and in some cases nueter, or spayed before purchasing.
Florida just straight up banned the ownership of pythons. Venomous snakes require multiple permits, hundreds of hours in apprenticeships, yearly inspections, and strict laws, and yet it's pretty common to hear on the news that some escape. It's time to just make them outright illegal.
You can't spay or neuter a snake.
@@shchorss Nah. I own a python and will never support them being made illegal.

@We're Not Finished Yet That does not answer any of my questions.
They should open up the bounty to the public.
They had a hard time getting the okay to do this because they don't want hunting in these protected areas. So its an application process. Imagine some untrained person out there.no thank you.. But clearly the problem is so out of control these few people who are allowed will only be of minimal help.

Good work fellas, saving the ecosystem multiple snakes at a time.
As a proud snake keeper, it absolutely baffles me that some people can do so little research and planning regarding whether or not they will be able to keep their snakes once they are fully grown, and then to just release them into the wild???? It makes the whole snake keeping community look bad.

the problem is that these are not easy to kill with guns and if you are not careful the snake can kill you easily
@@SerjEpic lol yeah I'm not advocating taking your 10 year old out there with you...we use pitbulls for hogs and I'd imagine a hound dog would be great for letting you know when one is close by. Shot guns and nets would work.

Exactly, populations of predators fluctuate due to decline in prey populations and vise versa...
if they labeled them a nuisance species and gave a $50 dollar bounty per python this problem would solve itself in a couple months.
Honestly I'm terrified of snakes and i usually hate them but i don't like people hunting/killing pythons. It's probably because i grew up with a 9 foot boa but it's the only snake im terrified of but still really don't want to see hurt. I think large pythons are beautiful and it hurts me to see them hurt. I know that they have a good reason and it can't really be helped. And I'm not going to blame them for doing it or say that they are wrong. Its just sucks.
