    About MLB.com:
Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig announced on January 19, 2000, that the 30 Major League club owners voted unanimously to centralize all of Baseball's internet operations into an independent technology company. Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) was formed and charged with developing, building and managing the most comprehensive baseball experience available on the internet. In August 2002, MLB.com streamed the first-ever live, full length MLB game when the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees faced off at Yankee Stadium. Since that time, millions of baseball fans around the world have subscribed to MLB.TV, the live video streaming product that airs every game in HD to nearly 400 different devices. MLB.com also provides an array of mobile apps for fans to choose from, including At Bat, the highest-grossing iOS sports app of all-time. MLB.com features a stable of club beat reporters and award-winning national columnists, the largest contingent of baseball reporters under one roof, who deliver over 100 original articles every day. MLB.com also offers extensive historical information and footage, online ticket sales, official baseball merchandise, authenticated memorabilia and collectibles and fantasy games.
Major League Baseball consists of 30 teams split between the American and National Leagues. The American League, originally founded in 1901, consists of the following teams: Baltimore Orioles; Boston Red Sox; Chicago White Sox; Cleveland Indians; Detroit Tigers; Houston Astros; Kansas City Royals; Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim; Minnesota Twins; New York Yankees; Oakland Athletics; Seattle Mariners; Tampa Bay Rays; Texas Rangers; and Toronto Blue Jays. The National League, originally founded in 1876, consists of the following teams: Arizona Diamondbacks; Atlanta Braves; Chicago Cubs; Cincinnati Reds; Colorado Rockies; Los Angeles Dodgers; Miami Marlins; Milwaukee Brewers; New York Mets; Philadelphia Phillies; Pittsburgh Pirates; San Diego Padres; San Francisco Giants; St. Louis Cardinals; and Washington Nationals.

A game seven, extra innings, rain delay, last minute home runs, two teams who haven't had a win in decades... if this isn't the greatest game ever played, what is?

I don't care what anyone says, this game was baseball in its purest form. It had it all, and what a fantastic finish. One of the most entertaining World Series Game 7s I've seen in a long time. It was a game of who wanted it more, from the first leadoff homer in a WS Game 7, to the last gasp at extra innings.
Don't let anyone tell you baseball is boring again.

Think: some great games were played before the 50's that we do not have video of. From there, check the games between the Yankees and Dodgers in the 50's, the 1960 WS deciding game, and the early 70's NLCS and WS. I'll throw a couple more to you since you love the sport like I do: the '83 AllStar gm and the AllStar gm from Colorado in the late 90's.

@@jeffreywilliams6386 Right on. It was and still is a GREAT game. MLB's history is just too long and with too much of it sadly lost or having had occurred at times pre-radio, let alone TV, making it hard to crown one game the best ever. It is certainly one of the greatest games that we have that we can view in this amazing quality though, can't deny that one. Also, the one, lone thing that all these YT views can be said to say for certain is that it is popular. But PLENTY of u,s Cub fans surely think it the greatest game EVER! But why or where we'd get that idea though is beyond me, lol...

As a baseball fan that wants to see the sport succeed in the 21st century, I really hope, but don't think FOX can keep this up. Sure that's a large amount of viewership, but you have to remember the very unique and rare circumstances; 176 years of combined misery and curses, which includes the most famous "cursed" team, the especially divided American landscape at the time and attempt to escape that, and of course the game itself being the greatest game of baseball ever played. It's going to be a long while (if ever) until you get a matchup similar to this, and I am appreciative to be able to see it, but there is not going to be this every year. You saw it last year (despite featuring two gigantic markets) and even in this 2019 WS, that you cannot rely on a TV audience to consistantly show up, and that's worrying for baseball, because again, not every year can feature an unforgettable 7-game series or a specific matchup between two teams that causes a plot and drama even casual fans can understand, and it shows that it isn't your sport that is actually growing.

    • @kikoredog
      @kikoredog 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

That's actually awesome. Oddly enough, the largest League of Legends (video game) viewership for a finals was 60 million, with the second place coming in at 47 million. It's cool to see physical sports catching up.

I think Baseball will always be a top three sport in America, the MLB still averages more revenue a year than the NBA by a billion dollars a year.

The Indians came back hungry and 2017 and were by far the best team in baseball down the stretch heading into the playoffs. And unlike the Red Sox, who became the team of the 2000's so far, them not even getting back to the World Series just enhances how amazing this run was.

I’ve seen a lot of baseball in my time. I saw the Mariners win 116 games in the early 2000’s. I saw the Red Sox do the Impossible and come back down 3 games to the Yanks and Reverse the Curse of Babe Ruth. I saw the Yankees crush my dreams year after year and ironically, their my favorite team now. But this was the greatest game I have ever witnessed. 🍺 ⚾️

Certain will never understand the meaning of this victory to cubs fan. Parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters and friends who passed on never got to experience this and that’s why it so emotional for so many people. My uncle Roy was a life long cubs fan and my dad is a cubs fan because of him and I am a cubs fan because of my dad. My uncle Roy didn’t get to see this moment. My dad cried and said this was for uncle Roy.

I would say, this has to be the most memorable World Series of all time for me, between the team and the length of time between championships for the two, and the fact the two states are close, and the game 7 story, the cubs winning down 3 games to 1, the back and forth tight games and ultimately the end of a 108 year drought and Theo Epstein again ending a curse with a new franchise. And I’ve been watching every world series throughly since 1999, when I was 7 years old

im a tigers fan and i felt the same way, cant imagine what cubs fans were going through. when davis left the park in the 8th, my heart sunk, i legit thought that was the end. of course thats how it would end, a slap hitting, zero power hitter taking the cubs deep -- any other year, that would have been a dagger. then bryant losing his footing on the final play, any other year, that ball ends up 10 rows into the crowd. it was just destiny. they were meant to win this series.

As someone already posted the big scoring plays, here are some other Cubs highlights and other moments.
41:33 big DP with speedy Raji Davis
1:17:18 and 1:49:08 Bryant's baserunning beauts. What an athlete!
1:29:19 Stubhub stat that, to me, reflects well on Cubs nation loyalty.
1:58:50 Pulling hot Hendricks after an "unearned" walk. SMH then and now (In Joe I trust, except this moment.)
2:24:22 Russell and Rizzo clutch D
3:11:39 Pulling Lester after an infield hit. Questionable, as Lester still had great stuff.
3:48:02 The questionable Baez 3-2 bunt.
3:49:37 I thought this would be a hit. Hats off, Lindor, for clutch D. (Though I'm a better sport knowing the outcome 😉)
3:59:47 3rd out. Hats off to Chappy for perseverance. Takes a true pro and emotional rock to have that 1-2-3 inning after that 8th.
4:02:28 Thank you, Mother Nature. At the time though, it was a torturous wait.
4:19:16 Greatest inning in Cubs history, maybe in WS history. Not sure how you can stop watching once you start.
    4:20:01 Schwarber's hit
4:23:13 Almora's bold baserunning, tagging to 2nd on Bryant's fly
4:25:03 Walking Rizzo to get to Zobrist. Tsk, tsk. You made Benny 😠 mad.
4:27:43 WS MVP in the clutch.
4:27:58 Rizzo's memorable helmet holding and barely audible but easily lipread "OMG." Priceless.
4:28:46 Walking Russell to get to Montero. Now, you're making Miggy 😠 mad.
    See? 4:30:54 Montero the hero.
    4:44:40 Carl J with the K
    4:46:57 Close 6-3. Phew.
4:51:05 "No! This is cruel. Ya gotta be kidding!" My thought at the time. Kudos, Raji, for whom "clutch" is an understatement.
4:55:03 5-3 on scorecard. CUBS WIN!
