Wow! That's a great accomplishment! I'm a TKD student and member also, a yellow belt. I train at Karstadt Taekwon-Do and there will be testing for me, and of course others on the 17th of next month. But I'm impressed actually with you.
I did TKD in the early 1980s through to the mid 90s. some great kicking techniques, but I had to take it up a peg into kickboxing where it really lives. When I started Muay Thai ( the instructor was ex TKD) the kicks really did work out against those who'd only done Muay Thai - but with the advent of K1 and MMA everyone took a little bit from everything else. TKD is definitely worth doing and if you look at say... Van Roon in New Zealand he has a very healthy approach to martial arts with an ITF TKD background, but he's very much encouraging his students to full contact and MMA. times have changed and martial artists must change with them. Back in the days of the UKTA when I started, if they even had a sniff that you were training elsewhere, they'd kick you out. That's how narrow minded they were. Now... it's far better and you have gyms where guys have got black belts in several styles and they're training future professional champions. If I had my time again, I'd start with Muay Thai and also train in BJJ - but just good old boxing is still one of the best.
Oh lol when I had to grade for my black, we did 1 on 1 sparring (second digit is the candidate) then do 2 on 1 and then 3 on 1 sparring. Damn its hard. I am currently second dan. Good job Daniel.
hmm?Taekwondo always used the lead leg in sparring sir..that's not new. we use the lead leg for the same reason boxers use their lead hand..that is..their jab. It is closer to your opponent..so it makes sense to use your led leg to start and attack and follow your led leg with your hands or the rear leg.. BTW lead leg kicks ARE very powerful..ALL kicks are..if you don't think so that just means every person you know that's tried isn't a very good kicker.
blix the gamer wtf is kind of like the game "tennis" where you just slap eachothers hands until one taps. (as in there's no blocking). it's just who can deliver the harder hits and Dodge better. it'd is like trying to fight but with less power, but blocking, and dodging, and punching
blix the gamer I do ITF so I'm pretty much a pro ITF but I'm gonna tell you if you wanna practice a sport do WTF if you wanna be a martial artist choose ITF... You actually learn to defend yourself in ITF whereas WTF is only about kicking. At my club we also learn joint locks, all types of self defense and throws. And of course, don't forget the patterns and the fact that we learn boxing (the emphasis is still on kicks but less than in WTF) and how to actually land or block punches... But in the end, it's your choice!
Amélie Lapointe ITF is absolutely full of shit. There is a heavy emphasis on forms and things that stem from forms such as one steps and other bullshido "self defense" training moves. Do not tell me the sparring is any better than WTF. ITF punches are absolute garbage that is like a weak little bop on the head. They do not teach real methods of avoiding or blocking the punch, other than catching it with their face. At least WTF allows full contact sparring, while only a few ITF organizations do the same. Yes, I know they exist, but they are not the rule, they are the exception. Faggoty ITF point sparring tournaments are like a game. They are not a fight. If you want real self defense, get away from TKD. Look for Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling, or BJJ. Once you are good at those, add tkd techniques.
zid mizarz They do use punch. But it's only allowed to punch on the the trunk. And the punches need to be right at the solar plexus to score because that's where the sensor meets.
How Ironic....Cause WTF allows knock outs and full contact kicks, while ITF is semi contact but with head punches. No knock outs allowed. lmao th-cam.com/video/Bv9ZJZLmMCM/w-d-xo.html
I'm not trying to bash at ITF sparring or anyone who loves it but don't make fun of the bouncing and cut kicks in the olympic style if you guys are gonna do the same thing. I'm just saying.
we dont have "cut kicks", we have powerful side kicks which are attacks. the fight here is actually a really bad example of ITF, you should check out tomasz barada or ri chol nam, then you will see what ITF is all about.
+Liquidcadmus A cut kick is the same as a side kick. The only difference, it stops your opponent from advancing, hence "cutting" forwarded motion. The people you recommended were in a video sparring each other. They either don't pick their legs up enough or even re-chamber their legs. They show the right aggression but not very good at landing a kick or punch.
IMO, from what I've seen from Taekwondo, a universal ruleset change needs 2 happen! Not a TKD practitioner myself, but 4 da sake of others and future students, they need 2 adopt a modified version of da early "Full-Contract Karate" ruleset; America's first kickboxing ruleset. At least then, it'd b somewhat more of a fight!
some schools like the one i train at will transition from tournamnt sparring which is baisically just a game of tag and picking points off your opponent, and then transitioning from that to more of a kickboxing approach in the off season and compete in WAKO kickboxing events. hope this helped
i wanna see a video of you showing everyone how much you know and how skillfull you are or if you are just a keyboard warrior speaking out of sheer ignorance.

Lead leg hop hop, skip, skip what kind of fighting is this the Taekwondo fighters of the 70s, we're a lot better than the fighters of today
ცՆค८қ Բɿς੮ ok boomer
Sometimes i wish they would get in and start blocking and shit and not jumping around and kicking and backing up
I'm an ITF Green Belt :D I tested yesterday.

Jacob Mendoza I'm actually testing for high green on December 1st
Ashi Garfield Nice job! Keep following the path to the black belt:)
still training?
do you still train?

fucking front leg sparring, i love old taekwon :s

I'm a taekwondo begginer. What do you guys suggest me to do... WTF or ITF
Do ITF. It's much more fast paced and alot more fun!
Correct
blix the gamer wtf is kind of like the game "tennis" where you just slap eachothers hands until one taps. (as in there's no blocking). it's just who can deliver the harder hits and Dodge better. it'd is like trying to fight but with less power, but blocking, and dodging, and punching

Better than WTF
Hah! Wtf is better...
Thankyou
@@mr.abhowmick4200 lol you're funny
bro is speaking facts
This is a bad example of an ITF TKD Sparring. This looks more like the shit they do in WTF.
WTF looks like they fight without their hands. WTF is much worse than this.
ITF is more efficient usig punchs as well, its depends on the practicioner; which I don´t understand why WTF can´t use punch???
I do wtf and thats freakin hilarious

+MonkiBoi I see wild street punching that miss 90-95% of the time.

what are cut kicks?
Wait does ITF stop every time some one gets hit? I do wtf no disrespect tho
In itf the ref doesnt stop when points are scored. Only when giving out warnings. Or when the round ended
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍👍👍
Why would somebody fight with their hands down low like that?
They're more worried about being kicked in the stomach, and rely on dodging rather than blocking
Have you ever watched this a prime Stephen Wonderboy Thompson?
super 🥋🇨🇭👍🏻💪🏻
Side step back fist ridge hand to head all day long !!!
why? it seems like an exhibition.
Horrible! The watering down of such a great art continues!!
what?!!!
agreed, they just hop around and barely kick.

It's not a fight, though. It's a spar.
More contact and less bouncing around.
They are wearing boxing gloves but not throwing any jabs😂
