Girl, you are an artist. You just do you. I am pretty sure that, no matter what, I'm here for it. Really love the idea of remaking things so that you're wearing them! Wishing you a new year filled with much happiness and contentment. 🤍
In the future I think it might be cool to explore styling your made pieces back with bought pieces that you wear daily already. For several projects you mentioned the idea of "modern interpretation" and I find, personally, what of the most direct ways of "modernizing" a historical-inspired piece is to smash it up against (pair it / coordinate it with) something that I bought off the rack. There's both a contrast and a balancing act then going on between the pieces; standard vs customized, uniform construction vs. handmade, normcore vs. history-bounding. I like wearing floor-length dresses with super-cropped hoodies as an example; the hoodie is absolutely modern and mass-produced, but then the skirt hem pooling on the floor feel very old-fashion. The main thing I use to keep it cohesive is mostly colors; if the colors coordinate well then the texture or the shapes can be really different.
Agreed! I have a few styling hacks that usually “normalize” historical clothing- I think that’s why I use black so often- even the most strictly historical piece works with a modern wardrobe as long as it’s black. I love the hoodie/long skirt idea, I feel that’s a pretty versatile move!
I'm so hugely interested in and inspired by everything you do! The experiments you're talking about at the 12:25 mark? I'm obsessed with the idea! Maybe such experiments lend themselves well to TH-cam shorts? EDIT: The knitwear videos are interesting, but I'm finding them harder to learn from since I don't knit, let alone have a knitting machine. I suppose that's personal taste so do with that info what you will!
Totally with you on 2024 being a difficult year and hoping 2025 will be better! I really enjoyed seeing your sketchbook too. Tbh I like the weird and the working through as another creative, it's fun to see how other ppl work. Honestly love your niche stuff!
I love your channel so much and am always excited when you upload. What you create is so unique and so deeply researched that I always learn so much and am very inspired! Can’t wait to see what comes this year 😊
I am really looking forward to what you do this year. So excited. Watching your creations has changed the way I sew, since I am very interested in Medieval garments, ad it is fun to incorporate modern aspects and decoration into it.
I am glad to see you circling back to your older makes. I love that embroidered shirt - it is so lovely. Another exhausted person here. We have upped our self-care game entering 2025. Engr me intrigued with the knitting machines but don’t have time for a new hobby in this season of life. Off to watch a video I missed last year. Happy designing in 2025!
I have seen every single video you upload, several of them are my mostly loved and I rewatch them regularly, thank you for your everything - ideas, sharing what is behind, historical data and books, please keep recording as at least I am here waiting for more
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching and am inspired by your creative processes. Thank you for the time and effort you take to create unique and interesting content. I’m looking forward to watching whatever you choose to share in 2025.
I love watching your channel! In this video, watching you talk and seam rip while chatting to us was just like doing the same with a friend sitting across from you at the table.
Its about 40-50 degrees here in Walla Walla, WA. Usually we have snow. January is when it usually dips into the negative temperatures. Its been interesting to see your ideas turned into clothing in the past year. Not quite my thing but I am a construction nerd. Thanks for sharing your time and projects. Nobody makes clothes in this town. They are all qulters. This year I am finally able to sit up at the table and sew. I started from half an hour to four hours being my limit. I am finally making good progress in walking again too. I've made a knit boat neck top with red and black stripes over beige with 3/4 sleeves as a nod to the marinier. I made a Ponte knit tennis skirt that is 2 inches above the knee. Third project was a striped fitted button up blouse with an outrageously huge collar aka 70s. Final project was black stretch jeans with barrel legs. I ordered more fabric to redo the waistband. Yesterday I started cutting out pieces to the Friday pattern co's patina blouse. Today I will trace out the pattern pieces for my size. I might even get to pinning and cutting today. I'm making g from black cotton embroidered fabric with plain black cotton for the collar and cuffs. After that about two knit dresses, A corduroy jumper and a pair of stretch cotton blend trousers. Enough bragging on my part.
Ah! It’s so hot here that negative temperatures sounds interesting (but I’m sure it’s less so when you’re actually in it!) we hit 70 degrees and everyone is in sweaters and puffer jackets. So glad to hear you’re able to do some sewing! It sounds like you’ve made a lot of progress on quite a few projects so congrats! I really love looking at projects I e done sort of laid out or grouped together- it’s satisfying to see things that were once ideas but are now objects that exist in the world…
Hi! I love your channel. I must admit ive been wondering about your collection! As much as i love the videos you've been making in the back of my mind im dying to see that process!
Your backwards cardigan video definitely suffered from the issues with filming black fibres. It was easy to become confused about the orientation of the pieces (as you yourself know!) and so harder to follow to process, and harder to appreciate all the lovely detailing. Looking forward to more beautiful, historical, crazy ideas 🙂
Yep- the backwards cardigan was 🤪 all the way around. honestly the entire process was a bit hectic and sorting out the footage afterwards was an adventure. Ah well- I’d like to think I learned a few lessons about keeping up with a hectic project, but only time will tell! Thanks for coming on that journey with me!
It is cold outside here (26 degrees F right now). A storm is moving our way to bring sleet, snow, or freezing rain (if it warms up a bit). I hope we don't get freezing rain. I want to do some cooking this afternoon; but, I'm not going to start it. Freezing rain could bring the power lines down, seal the windows and doors, and make it very dangerous to be outside. I live in an all electric home. It is January 5, 2025 here..
Personally, I’d love the see the minutiae of the design process, experimentation, samples, etc., even if you only show those things of more niche interest in shorts.
Thanks! I’d thought about including more detail in shorts, or maybe just as an extra video a few times a year. We’ll see what format ends up working out the best 🤷♀️
Honestly, your channel is my favorite. I’m not as fashion educated as you are, but I learn so much from watching you create.
Thank you!!!!!!

Thank you! A happy new year to you as well!
Very much agreed! Honestly, this is such a soothing channel for me to watch. I'm always excited to see what you're up to - knits and all!
I love your videos and approach and makes! For what it's worth, I adored your knitwear video with the sweater.

only 10K??? omg, you are vastly underrated. your videos are delightful!
Congratulations hitting the 10.1K mark. Certainly enjoy your work and your shared information.
I would absolutely looooove to see the knitwear videos!
I like the idea of seeing your previous projects and how you will remake them.
Thanks! Although now I e put the intention into the world I don’t know where to start, ha.
