Looks like one of the best if not the best ev out there. The question remains though on the whole range/charging infrastructure/cost to use away from home/speed to charge. And then there’s depreciation.
the car is only 78k. they put 20k in options on it! which is crazy in my mind...but apparently porsche is sending their first units to dealership with a ton of options to show off for the customers of course
You're missing my point. Saying the car cost x is not an accurate representation for ppl who don't know how porsche makes an option of everything. I think it would be more accurate to say the car starts at X and THIS one has be optioned up to Y. That's all I'm saying.
@@krissrockat $78k it comes with absolutely nothing. You have to literally spec everything individually with Porsche which is a shame because it ruins the value proposition.
I love how instead of making the key fob look more expensive, they made it look cheaper and then upped the price. The least they could have done is offer a more premium key option and charge you for it as Porsche does, but nope! Not an option for the one thing you carry around with you and have to touch all day everyday
I dont get the hate. the reason why this car is expensive is because of THE BATTERYS.The key looks cheap? Get it painted. Porsches are very customisable.
I think the battery costs $15-20K and an ICE maybe $10K so we were surprised the price delta from the Macan S ICEV. That was not even the 4S but just the 4.
No hate. Just comments. It's expensive, not because of the batteries. It's expensive because it's a Porsche, period. Overpriced and no rear seat room. Sorry if you think this is hate.
I do not understand how this vehicle which is 188 inches long, has less rear seat room than a Kia EV3, which is 168 inches long? The rear seat room has always been an issue with Macan. I thought that the new EV platform would solve this, but no??
don't be scared. If you do some research, you'll find that an ICE vehicle is 60x more likely to catch fire. There are actually 60x more gas powered vehicles burning to the ground per 100,000 cars sold.
I have a good old friend question for you.....would you take this car or the new 25 Cadillac Lyric if you could just get it but couldn't sell it for 5 years? ??????😮
you can control both ride height and damping. its both luxurious and sporty. the amazing part is, when you change the mode, you can feel the difference immediately.
Thanks for the video - I'm waiting on delivery of a Turbo Macan Electric in Paint to Sample Riviera Blue, with gloss black 22" RS Spider wheels (fully loaded 😂😂)... I'll probably make video of it, but more as a spec reveal than a review. I appreciate all the effort you put into this video, it was useful and showed me everything I wanted to see - thanks!
I’m just not spending $100k for 300 miles of range and battery technology that’s not modular and has only a 7 year life span. This will be a dud. Big Porsche mistake on its breadwinner…..
bro just straight up spreading misinformation about the life span of the battery, and the reason why Porsche doesn’t use modular technology is because it it adds a shit ton of weight, less efficient, less range, slower charging speed like why would you even want modular battery technology, it’s that simple, yes the modular battery technology makes it easier to repair and later its upgradability is impressive but it doesn’t make the car itself better but worse.
@@krissrock it’s about sales. And I’ll be right, this will be a dud, unless they discount them heavily. And if and when mass consumers do become more comfortable with EV’s they’ll go to a Tesla Model Y at half the price. Porsche performance prestige is watered down in this high torque but very heavy vehicles environment.
@@tgchris2222 well uhhh ppl who can afford and buy porsches don't NEED a discount. and if they wanted to a Tesla, they woulda bought one already. The interior of the Macan is way better than any tesla. Tesla got their seats off TEMU. You apparently haven't looked at the specs...you know the 4S and Turbo have 0-60's at 3.9 and 3.1 ... what's watered down about that?
@@krissrock I’m very blessed and don’t need discounts, and I do value the prestige and perfection that comes with the Porsche brand. The Macan ICE clearly has been a huge success. Recent studies though indicate 50% of EV owners are considering going back to ICE. For all the reasons you’d expect. Let’s see how sales go the next 6 months. Porsche took a huge gamble doing this with there biggest volume seller. A hybrid solution like in the Cayenne was a smarter path.

$100k for a macan 4 😂 10 years ago that’s the price of a cayenne gts
But then you could say that it’s quicker than a 10 year old cayenne gts?

let's get one in 2030 for 20k
Then in 2030 you will say the same for another Porsche 😆

You can see the Volkswagen and Audi relationship. I have 23 q7 and a 22 Tiguan. Definitely see the carryover of the vw group.
After seeing that video online of the Model X suddenly combusting in someone's garage EVs scare me lol

only 308 miles is disappointing. In the real world, you only get 66% of advertised range

is the camera bouncing around? or is this a suspension issue?

So, will this be.
ICE Macan now looks dated in comparison.
Did you feel nausea? Some reviews mentioned nausea while driving
No
which review was this please?
@nicholaswoodcock7449 don't remember the name but it was from initial launch. I'll try and loom it up

No, it hasn't.

He has to follow speed limits!
What was funny about the key fob?
some ppl are noting that the button order is different than previous porsches. tha's all
Wax on, wax off way of steering with one hand is a no, no!
If the hand suddenly slips off, it can be scary!!
Depends on who you ask. It has the Porsche badge, but the purists still prefer the ICE. Nice review.

there's not a single EV with a battery warranty less than 8 yrs. So now you can buy one.
