This game looked so cool in 1998... I tried to play it multiplayer with my friends located in different places of the same town a couple of years ago. So ping wasn't hight, but it looked like it didn't support decent synchronization or something, so the handling was a bit delayed for all players except the host. Still, I was surprised because it was common to play the games of that time via modem. Did you experience something like this or you were playing on LAN?
Well, if you are very far away from the host, you are bound to experience input lag (e.g. 10,000+ km). Because game's connection type is "Controller Updates." and everything needs to be synchronized. If you're close, you can tolerate input lag. Since this game isn't made for online, natural to have such a issue. My advice is to use instant tricks (i.e. steering, acceleration and braking) when there is high input lag. I saw the benefit of this. I made a program for this. And the input lag is mainly a matter of nfs 3, in nfs 2, nfs 4 hs, and nfs porsche, the start is synchronized, then the rest is as if there was no input lag from my experience years ago with some colleagues, greetings and when I enter the discord I will be pleased that you help me friend, a big greeting and a pleasure to meet another lover of this era of nfs
