Kandy man, what a humble man! That guy seemed to be informative about the product, but... at times had an attitude problem. 29:19 he even tells you how to spray. Keep it up humbleness and patience is key to learning. Thank you for the video
I hope to see every video of the whole week. Also if it’s a bad color let’s see how is fixed with the new paint line. I am stunned with this video you made and more along coming. You’re the best man. Nobody else have done a such a video like this. I am happy to be a follower of you. GREAT STUFF HERE ON YOUR CHANNEL 🙌
I also have a question for your guys. I notice he said not to use she solvent cleaner (I use onyx hd, water most of the time, so for me it’s 900) on primer, cause it could lift the edges, is that a worry even if you seal the primer area?
My old boss would have fixed the dent for free and blended the back door. He keeps his customers forever and he has the same shop since 1994. He always said, make the customer happy and you will have good word of mouth and they will comeback forever. I know it is not easy today with the insurance companies to even get paid right even on the damage the vehicle came in for so it is tough to do what he does.
Hey brother welcome to Crash Champions and thanks for the training. Am in the West Bend Wisconsin shop, am currently prepping but praying and hoping for painting soon. I'm a seasoned prepared and have paited for some time.
Also make sure you get some 1000 metal prep wipes.. it’s the best way to treat the bare metal! They also have 801-74 and 801-76 so you can make epoxy sealer like you did with your bare metal wet on wet jobs! It works well
I like the way he mentions about the iwata gun and possibly sata gun would be better for wetter applications I notice that with clear too need to slow down with iawata guns
Lay that color on nice and slow as if you’re filling the body guys pinholes with high build primer. This application is similar to 480 hi-tech 1/2 coat system.
I know exactly what you were thinking when that guy is telling you go slower on the base there’s gonna be striping in it. I bet that’s what your mind was telling you. It’s all about a learning curve.
Nice work! I usually do one full coat then go back down for another full wet coat and then my drop coat to get full coverage specially on silvers. Also order some 40 extreme binder and wet bed if it’s drying too fast on you
tough day. my favorite time at work is early or late when the shop is empty and quiet. the basf sealers are top shelf. i always sand the exteriors but i never have problems with adhesion on insides and undersides with the right cleaners. its definitely a time saver and my sanding hand appreciates it!
German paint system teached on a German car (kinda wicked the moved away from painting inside of fenders. I know VAG group had that as requirments 20 years ago
I think the Sata rp with the 1.3 or 1.2 would be great for your spray style. I’ve been using Axalta’s spies hecker water 1.5 coat system for 2 years. My satas cover great and I can move fast. Great work man!
Damn i used to use the 90line glasurit and its a massive difference to that! Cant belive how wet you have to put that base on! I know they spent ages developing it
I’m really enjoying this switch over content, I spray Standox waterborne which is a 1.5 coat system. It would be very hard to re coat a silver after it’s dried, so that tells me the BASF works a little differently than the Axalta systems. Interesting
On solid colors a lot of times I’ll spray the base first and then immediately spray the wet bed that way I don’t have to worry about the base fisheyes.. I also do this backwards method on white tri coats when spraying the ground coat
Your weather is different than mine since I’m in Indiana.. but I would spray that silver with the mb40 mixing clear and reducer.. I don’t think they gave you the extreme slow mb40 but I would at least use the 10x and the mb50x The slower drying the better for laying out the metallic on the big panels like the hoods etc! I’m sure you noticed it tries to dry before you can do your orientation coat. The slower mixing clear and reducer helps a lot with that. Also just know that the sealer color recommendations are system generated and not field tested. So i will deviate from that recommendation at times. That silver the way you sprayed it would have covered better over one shade darker (L02) I also find that the darker reds like RR and wa434b cover everytime over L01 but the system will recommend lighter like L03.. so definitely don’t be afraid to play with that! The wetter the better on that base! Just have to watch going to wet into the wet bed.. it will cause the base to fish eye on you! I like the mb40 wet bed the best it sprays clear and stays wet the longest! My booths have blowers built in the walls and we have an air drying system so our set up drys extremely fast.. so my recommendations might not apply to your set up exactly the same.. I like the 460 clear with the 93 hardener and the 216 reducer.. give the slow reducer a shot definitely being in Florida it will post flow a little more I also like the high solid 255 clear for the best overall appearance and hold out Hope this helps man.. you have taught me a lot and I appreciate your videos Can’t wait for the next one
I watched a few parts of this video a few times. Lots of good info. I like this line. I want to spray it. I’ve heard that sata 5500 works great with this line from another painter. Hvlp for base and rp cc cap for clear. I guess it’s a new clear cap.
Great video, i do like the wet application and drop coat all in one go, it looks like it would when its clear coated so you can sort of see what the end results will be , its a lot to think about making sure its wet at all times, what would happen if you had a small area to rectify, would you have to wet the whole panel again or can you blow a bit in. Always liked Glasurit products but i can't afford it at my small shop, Glasurit fade out thinner is the best ive ever used its like magic nothing else on the market is like it , can you show a video using that Thanks man really enjoyed this and good luck with the rest of the training
Kandy man is the Glasuriat waterborne paint so is there mutch of a difference with the Ppg Paint 😊 brilliant video thanks for sharing that very well explained 👍
You my friend are the best to ever done. Since i discovet your channel you i bave been havin the notification on. And i sold my 2 satas to get ws400 series 2 digital. I have always used sata only. Cant wait for the next video thank you sir!
Yeah this new glasurit is very similar to cromax pro if not exactly the same interms off application , but one thing i noticed that when you applied a second coat you could lay it down wet , with cromax that dryed first layer would just suck that second coat and you could not get it that wet , so if you had a light metallic like this and had a problem in the first coat and its dry you where better off clearing it and redo it because that would be mottle city , atleast in my experience, so plus points for glasurit , cromax is also very and i mean very difficult to blend on silver doors any other color or panel you would be okay but damn do i hate that system sometimes
be careful wiping last with the BASF water cleaner. i spray RM onyx and the water cleaner has to be diluted way down with water because of its strength. even with wiping it until it’s completely dry it’ll still cause a reaction to the basecoat at times.
we had to switch from ppg. We where having seedy problems with sealers and dark colors like the black! we switch to spies and it is way way faster ! no seedy problems
Amazing video Kandy Man I found this very interesting, the Glasurit system looks like it's going to be good as the first job came out superb, it must seem strange to use the spectro for every job and not have any colour chips, the manufacture must be very confident that the spectro is spot on every time as some painters I know that use a different paint line don't trust the camera to give accurate results🤔 You are doing a great job so far Kandy Man, once the first job is out the booth it can only get better👏🙏👍John UK

You need to ask your rep about 285-02 it’s a translucent sealer mixed with the color for even faster coverage…I know it’s available in the 90 Line but I’m not sure about 100Line. I’m a little jealous because I wanted to use 100 Line in my shop but it’s too expensive for the volume of work in the shop I work for so I’m using 90 Line and have been nothing but impressed I can’t imagine how easy and fast the 100 Line is!!!!
I know it’s a bit of a push back all the comments are sweet. Seems like a handful of extra steps. From the last video and this with the cleaner. No chips, camera only, e coat cleaner for help with adhesion, multiple hardeners. One and done. I wonder if it’s cheaper than PPG? I used to talk stuff about PPG but the guy who knows it is worth his weight in gold. Those cameras are not always that accurate. We will see with time. I might eat my words but that’s ok. They weren’t too bitter 😅. Love the content though. Good stuff. You’ll figure it out….ohh and the shake. Lol
I love how that metallic seemed to lay out. Ultra 9k is NEVER that smooth in a single coat. No matter how wet you lay it. Seems like 100 lines pretty solid!
