Haha - tbh im just so fed up with the structure of these talent shows (despite the fact that I can't stop watching them), it had nothing to do with Tom, the man is perfection.
He has said that this song resonates with him personally due to feeling ostracized due to his diabetes. He identifies with this song and it shows. His emotion in every note is so raw and his awareness of his own personal feelings just shines through! He is definitely telling his own story through these lyrics. Side note: I have never been that much of a fan of Radio Head nor this song, but Tom makes it relatable and now it takes on a whole new meaning for me! Hands down the best vocal ever to grace the stage of AGT! Can’t wait to see what he has in store for us!
Thank god you said this. I have 2 kids who feel out of place with autism. He feels out of place with diabetes and you can genuinely see it. You don’t have to be overly dramatic to show a song or feeling. If you do, there’s something wrong.
tom ball is able to reach all the senses besides hearing, the vision for making us tear up, the touch for making us shiver, and the palate for practically feeling the musical taste in every note oozing through the doors of our ears, he is an artist incredible
So glad you featured Tom Ball, he gives me chills, and I'll be going to his concert in a heartbeat. I love that he seems such a humble normal guy, authentic and relatable. Such a perfect song for him in my opinion. Can't wait for his album to come out.
Oh yay! Tom is amazing and I'm so glad you're reacting to this one too! He's got a livestream where he explains how this song is personal to him (as a kid with Diabetes who was treated as a weirdo at school because of his condition). His music video for this song is all about that, so worth checking out.
I would absolutely love you to look at his final performance on BGT the note he hits at the end could break glass! His best performance in my opinion and probably the best performance in tv talent show history!
Anyway...Tom Ball is very special to me. The song "Creep" really touched me. Of course, you choose a song in which the abilities of the voice come into their own. Every singer does it. For example, when opera singers try their hand at pop songs, it usually sounds miserable. Tom is fantastic and he chose the song "Creep" himself because, as he said himself, he identifies with the lyrics a lot. Thank you for the reaction.🙏
Did you see the video he did of it like a small film of a blond little girl going to school. He plays in it as a gteacher and it ends happily, The poor thing got sick doing the other contest and his wife a nurse drove him to hospital. There is a video where you see her in her wedding gown. Tom should have won at least one contest, can't understand how a comedian won. He is a Diabetes one sufferer.
Wow, that's a seriously good voice, and he knows how to play to his strengths too. Hopefully we see him doing his own thing soon. BTW you hit the nail on the head - perfectly suited to Empty Chairs!
I don’t know why Daniel made these negative comments. Tom Ball is phenomenal. Daniel you have to see his video of creep. Then and only then you will understand where Tom is coming from.
He has incredible breath control. I mean that he never sounds like he's straining. I would love to hear him fronting a rock band, because I think he has the ingredients, which aren't being fully exploited in these voice competitions.
I look forward to other songs as well.....He still gives me chills.....and love his voice.....He did come out with a some of his own......Falling Slowly....just recently...very different and yes he is coming out with an album....and doing lots of concert in Europe..... Thanks to listening to him and commenting..
I've got to say MDP I really appreciate that you pressed your t-shirt for this presentation. Very professional. Sincerely. And I agree wholeheartedly with the whole Dance Monkey Dance aspect of these mega talent contests. Best to Tom, hope he manifests his artistic identity.
And yes! I immediately thought of Broken Chairs or Bring Him Home. Musical theatre leads for sure! The song "Creep" is in my Top 10 faves of all time - well honestly, probably Top 5 so I listen to every version out there. I did love his version of Silence .... but no one will top Disturbed's version. ..... imho.
I'm a little late to watching these but I absolutely love everything Tom does. I wonder if you see this you could react to him singing Feeling Good as Noodle the cat on BGT after the AGT All Stars. Apparently the producers had him come back to voice Noodle. The song is totally different than what he did before and it's amazing. Even following up with Live and Let Die. I can't get enough of Tom's singing. Because these songs are so different than the others he did, I thought you might be interested.
Mr. Patrick I would like to make a suggestion if you don't mind. Please watch Tom's performances on BGT and the end of the compilation on UTube of all his performances especially the last take of Noodle the Cat. I think you'll get a whole new perspective on Tom's extraordinary talent. After listening to all his work, every day since he began his rise on the Got Talent shows I still get goosebumps. I think he is one talented young man. However, I do listen to your, and other music aficionados, comments and some are definitely thought provoking. Thank you for your input.👏👏👏👏👏
“Dance again…”. is behind everything in life. It’s a given. We all live and die with greed and corruption running in the back ground. None of us “belong here”.
His performance of "I who have nothing" is fantastic, I feel like it falls a bit under the radar, perhaps because it's BGT instead of AGT. It's great however, up there with "Sound of silence" imo.
TOm Ball guy showed perfectly that classical voice singers can do an absolutely incredible job performing rock-style songs. One of the best covers of Creep song ever, while Vincent's cover version is still my favorite one. But Tom's performance was outstanding and very memorable
Not sure if you've looked yet, but go look at Jonathon Antione, I actually think these 2 should do some kind of duet, and possibly something more upbeat out of their norm
Hello Marc! I thought this was a well paced, well calculated performance where, in addition to the vocal prowess, there was emotion…a determination to a story. Again, because he is a tenor, his lower register is going to be breathy and not powerfully projected . It is the nature of the instrument he has. He does a few full chest high B’s and then a mix of chest & falsetto when he ascends to a high D. I believe this piece lends itself to a muted beginning before he crescendos. He also has to sell what he is vocally capable of to both judges and audience and he probably knows it does lie in his lower range which is why he does not linger much there. Again, a voice for either Broadway or possibly ópera with serious training. You, of course, continue to be on my wish list.
Someone asked you below to do Tom Ball's version of "I Who Have Nothing"... you haven't gotten it yet, right? You really have to BUT don't get the official video of it, get the one he did in the final of the 2022 Britain's Got Talent competition... there is one absolutely unbelievable note he does at the end of the song which I think he did slightly better in the competition than he did on his official video. As a teaser for you... the note I am talking about, I seriously doubt if many, if any, current (maybe even past) singers could pull off or, for fear of damaging their vocal cords, would even attempt to pull off. There... that's your teaser. Now go get Tom Ball's rendition of "I Who Have Nothing". Here is the link... th-cam.com/video/XG_KYZhoJYw/w-d-xo.html
Just curious, why don’t you have any Dimash in your playlists ? Tom Ball, he has an amazing beautiful voice ! Thank you for your reaction ! Hoping you do some Dimash in the near future…
I dont think simon does that at all he sees something good and he knows when they are good and he wants people of course to do their best and he pushes them and this guy tom ball is one of the 7 wonders of this world
Oh my gosh..you are so cynical! I have watched all of his performances over and over again. You are a Negative Nathan. How can you go see him and enjoy him without your negativity?
Love you a little sassy 😂

@@MarcDanielPatrick Go and check out Gamal John from BGT 14/05/2023!! That guy was insanely good!!

Revisiting this after watching his version of Live and Let Die, which is incredible!
I'm such a big fan of Tom Ball, what you've said were true. Would love to watch your reaction from his performance singing I Who Have Nothing.
