The concept of disfunctioning the cannons is something undigestable type of theory.
Because at that time cannons were not effective as today. It only created panic among new soldiers.On the other hand it actually created bountyful of opportunities for enemy. Because under the smocke of the cannonfire (it created a lot of smoke of course) troops could surprise another parties....
actully no ahoms disfunctioned the cannons. It was a clear fight.
A bagh hazarika named fictional chracter was created by lefties.
It is said that bagh poured water to those cannons and in this way Lachit and Atan Buragohain won the war.
It is completely rubbish,no book mentions bagh hazarika.It was created by Dr Bhuyan.

Both biographical books of Lachit Barphukon and Atan Buragohain clearly mentions the characters of Saraighat battle. It mentions clothing,appearance, approximate height,weapon etc. There is no mention of Hazarika in any of this books.
DR BHUYAN wrote a book named Annals of Delhi and here he mentioned about Bagh hazarika in only one sentence.
