Aulelei o keuga. That was different . If I was the male I would’ve gone with a pale fuiono instead of a tuiga. Just my personal opinion, I prefer the males to have distinct masculine movements here and there when dancing with females. He definitely had the stature and body composition to execute it. But everyone is different. You all looked amazing with your malu/tatau adorned in our traditional wear. Such a powerful look. Malo

It’s traditional for a male to move gracefully and wear a tuiga

@@GOGO-fl2wv As a matter of fact: Samoans have indeed been copying Tongans. For years. In hidden plain sight. You get our ngatu tapa and all our treasures and make it into your own. Tongans have been far more tolerable about it and we share. Because if the roles were reversed - all hell breaks loose. yes we have differences too - but we’re similar as well. I thought we were one. But it seems like some people wanna still be on the divisive front. This was a beautiful Siva nonetheless! ❤️✨

@@ltmg9832 no offence but where do Tongans get the idea that the tapa cloth was copied by samoans, I've seen this comment a few times now so thought I'd ask ? We call it Siapo Mamanu or Siapo 'Elei & it has been the traditional clothing of Samoa since ancient days, we still have the song which explains the process of making it. No where have I heard of tapa cloth in Samoa originating from Tonga, only the ones that we gifted one another is Tongan. If you google all siapo mamanu (free hand design) and siapo 'Elei (upesi design) that go back to the 1800's you'll see the designs. Most of these tapa are passed down from generation to generation and that could include tapa gifts traded between Fiji and Tonga, however can you give a source or oral history saying that siapo was copied from Tongan ngata ? Because I have never heard of such things. I do agree that we should be respectful to one another regardless of differences of opinions.
