Yeah, they're pretty bad about evenly enforcing that rule, but it does happen. Even Dave Chesson covered it in a recent video. Kind of silly rule, IMO.
@@selfpubwithdale This rule gives Amazon the right to ban anyone at any time. For example, if I'm putting out a mid-content book like a coloring book, who puts their long 10-15-word subtitle on the cover? I've never seen this at all for any coloring book. I understand their rule stating you can't claim medical cures like "stress relief" as a book title, but this makes no sense.
@@JamesSedgwick-jp6hh Then, you won't have anything to put on the cover. You'll be good. It seems they only require the subtitle on the cover if you have a subtitle.
Good call! By the way, thanks for becoming a channel member, @mturra81. Be sure to peek through the backlog of channel member exclusive videos. If you visit the membership tab on my main landing page, you'll see all the previous videos. I'll be rolling out a LOT more in the coming weeks since I'll be publishing eight new books. I'm sitting on about six new videos for over-the-shoulder tutorials. Kind of like a ride-along.
Thank you for the video Dale that is great information & advice. After what you had said I will need to review the Amazon KDP rules more regularly; what really gets me is why does Amazon keep changing the rules every 5 minutes.....so mind-boggling! 😳
Glad it was helpful! As for changing the rules...🤷♂️🤣It's their game; we're just playing in it. It often reminds me of my childhood when my brother would make up rules to games as we went along so he could win every time. hahaha
Hey, they're doing great. Two years old already. The girl is allergic to nearly everything, so we have to put her on steroids once a month. The boy knocked one of his teeth loose (not sure how), so he had it extracted at his recent teeth cleaning. Other than that, they're still active and happy. Those two make my day. The girl (Allie) bonded with me and loves to snuggle during my daily meditation and at night before I go to bed. The boy (Auggie) is smitten with my wife Kelli. He'll follow her everywhere. Thanks for asking!
Do they want the subtitle on the book cover? Over 95% of books on Amazon don't do that. Very odd.
Not only is it very odd but also very confusing.

What happens if fiction authors don't use subtitles? LOL

Your videos are so helpful, thank you Dale. I had recently read about subtitles having to be on covers and went through all my books to add them.

Speaking of kitties, how are yours doing?
