Bonobos Clash Over Ice During The Heatwave

- The bonobos got some ice as the weather is heating and they are loving it. Especially the young one as he can't get enough. The ice has some juice and almond shavings in it. They love it that much so that later a clash breaks out. The male of the group isn't very happy that all the females get the first choice. Unlike chimpanzees, it's the females that dominate in a bonobo group. The male starts to swing the hose vigorously and even starts to kick another bonobo.
Twycross Zoo is the only place in the UK that has Bonobo apes. Many people think they are Chimpanzees, but they are quite different. Especially in their behaviours. Also, Bonobos are much more slender in appearance. With the Chimpanzees the males are the dominant ones of the group. In the Bonobo apes, it's the females. Unfortunately like a lot of other animals, they are threatened by habitat loss and human population growth. Twycross Zoo is helping the bonobos get back to the wild by supporting the Conservation Welfare fund with the daily running of the sanctuary Lola ya Bonobo.

They did have two on each site of the enclosure ( looked like same flavour) , but it they all wanted this one lol The mum and baby did change over to the other one later.

There was some serious excitement over the giant ice pop. The Bonobos are very interesting. They do, look different than a chimpanzee. Loved this new video. Well, I love all your videos 🥰👍😁

I can't exactly tell all the physical differences between bonobos and chimps, but there are many giveaways: Bonobos have an overall darker skin with lighter colored "lips", they have a different posture than chimps (some suggest it's very close to the Australopithecus), have different hair distribution especially on the arms, etc.

They ARE peaceful, as in they don't beat the crap out of each other over nothing. This is more like a tantrum rather than the absolute rage chimps and humans experience.

I'm in the south in the US and it's so HOT over here. I can't imagine how they feel outside like that, I feel like acting like that some days too, lol. They should put about 5 more of those ice things out so they all can take their sweet time at it.....😁

Luckily it’s not quite as hot as it is in other countries. All the animals do have fresh water on tap ( sticking out of a wall like a straw 😊) so they can get to that anytime they want to. 😊 It’s the humidity that normally gets me. Try and stay cool!
@@SloggerVlogger tomorrow will be day 5 90 or above heat index 100s, that's what makes it bad, then the air quality. 🥵 just a few weeks ago we were having tornado, destroying everything, crazy. Hope you and all the animals at Tywcross stay cool. I hate that Oumbi didn't have a birthday party, 🙁 . Thank you for your time in sharing your video.
