I find it more comfortable to stand on than the rungs of the ladder.

Well, it might if the rungs on your ladder are 12" apart. However, the platform is specifically designed for Gorilla Multiposition Ladders. How it hooks itself to the ladder rungs is designed to catch the shape of the rungs on a Gorilla ladder. Since you would be standing on it you would certainly want it to attach properly.

Thanks! Glad you liked it. If you spend a lot of time on the ladder the platform is more comfortable to stand on.

You should be placing your foot on top of the edge of the platform when it is pushed in for climbing up and down not placing your foot in between the platform and on the ladder run. Also to store it place the platform folded on the inside not the outside of the ladder before folding it together using the lip of the platform placed on the inner ladder run so the platform grate should be facing inwards between the two legs then close the ladder together and the platform in trapped in between the two legs.

Great suggestion on placing the platform between the folded ladder legs for secure storage.
I got out the Instructions supplied by Gorilla and reviewed the video. The video shows me completing steps 1 thru 7 as described in the instructions. Step 7 doesn't specifically say where to place your toe. So, wherever is comfortable for you is great.
