NCT Dream’s graduation concept is actually not the first time SM did that system. Super Junior, which debuted in 2005, was also supposed to have members going in and out as the years went by, hence they initially put a year at the end of their name, eg Super Junior 05. But the concept was scrapped early on. SuperM is also not the first time SM put their artists together (SM the Ballad, SM the Performance, Younique subunit), but it is supposed to be long-term as compared to their other special units, I reckon. It’s unfortunate that the Covid pandemic struck right after their debut, so they couldn’t tour around as much. Also, NCT China was already in the works long before WayV debuted, but it’s debut kept on getting delayed. Johnny, Doyoung, and Ji Hansol (former trainee), were supposed to be included in it.
Yes, all of this history is a lot more involved than guides usually show. Hope more fans get a better idea of the complexities (but most focus on just their favs which is to be expected).

A side and B side came from casette concept where they have two sides. The A side is usually the main songs or the first tracks people play first when they use casette in tape radio, and B side are the rest of the tracks. Since CD don't have that concept, people change the term to side tracks. It's generational things + konglish mixed in it.

B-sides tracks are the other songs you find in an album apart from the title track. Title tracks are usually the ones that have music videos and are used to promote the album, while b-sides mostly don't have videos or maybe one can have. I'll give an example of NCT 127 album fact check, that has the title track fact check itself plus other nine song which are b-sides in the albums.
Highly agree with their Uncut videos. It shows the behind-the-scenes processing of their music videos, photoshoots, dance practice, performance videos, and recordings. This could help you to get to know them more. They have a lot of these, btw, since they do this every comeback. You might want to start with the Uncuts of the MVs you've already reacted to.

guy with the glasses gets it - NCT/SM is about experimenting and trying new (and sometimes borderline crazy) ideas. Not all their ideas end up being good, but imo their openness and creativity is a huge reason for why every single SM group so far has had such a unique color and been one for the K-pop history books.

P.S, that song “Candy” isn’t originally there’s, they did a remastered (cover) of it, the original song is sung by a group called H.O.T back in the 90s but Nct dream definitely kept the concept with a modern twist and even the choreography or at least some parts is the same.

The group is called nct wish and theyre all new member that were chosen through a competition show. Definitely check out their debut im excited for what else that have to come in the future. When they tour its usually in the respective units its only happened a few time where they do a full group tour nct nation. I LOVE wayv so much a stan the entire group but wayv are always so looked over. Some songs i definetly recommend is love talk, on my youth, and turn back time.
39:01, the title track(the music videos that you react to) are the songs that promote the ablum in its entirety. B-side is the songs on the ablum that are not promoted. sometimes, they will pick 1 or 2 songs with the titled track to help (in depth) promote the album. Personally, i like the b-side more so than the title tracks because it explains the ablum more in its whole essence. Hope this helps!❤

Mark is such a valuable artist in SM because he is literally in everything lol (NCT 127, NCT Dream, NCT U, and Super M) so a lot of people recognize him first. Haechan promotes in NCT 127 and NCT Dream as well so their schedules are no joke. Can't wait for more NCT content from you guys!
I do reccomend checking out coded color lyrics if a song doesn't have a mv or if you just want to focus on the lyrics. HOWEVER, these videos are 100% fan-made, actually sometimes they are not made by fans of the group but by people who just do translations for kpop stans, and because of it being both fanmade and not so fanmade both the lyrics and the person whose portrait is lighting up are not always 100% correct. Still its a very good way to get to know the members names and voices, its just not 100% accurate the comments will tell you if a part is wrong

Nct actually has 23 members so when it said 20, that was wrong. P.S, that song “Candy” isn’t originally there’s, they did a remastered (cover) of it, the original song is sung by a group called H.O.T back in the 90s but Nct dream definitely kept the concept with a modern twist and even the choreography or at least some parts is the same.

Cant wait until you get deeper in the other units i loved this guide. Actually the japanese unit made the unit!! The group is called nct wish and theyre all new member that were chosen through a competition show. Definitely check out their debut im excited for what else that have to come in the future. When they tour its usually in the respective units its only happened a few time where they do a full group tour nct nation. I LOVE wayv so much a stan the entire group but wayv are always so looked over. Some songs i definetly recommend is love talk, on my youth, and turn back time.

39:01, the title track(the music videos that you react to) are the songs that promote the ablum in its entirety. B-side is the songs on the ablum that are not promoted. sometimes, they will pick 1 or 2 songs with the titled track to help (in depth) promote the album. Personally, i like the b-side more so than the title tracks because it explains the ablum more in its whole essence. Hope this helps!❤

Mark is such a valuable artist in SM because he is literally in everything lol (NCT 127, NCT Dream, NCT U, and Super M) so a lot of people recognize him first. Haechan promotes in NCT 127 and NCT Dream as well so their schedules are no joke.

I do reccomend checking out coded color lyrics if a song doesn't have a mv or if you just want to focus on the lyrics. HOWEVER, these videos are 100% fan-made, actually sometimes they are not made by fans of the group but by people who just do translations for kpop stans, and because of it being both fanmade and not so fanmade both the lyrics and the person whose portrait is lighting up are not always 100% correct. Still its a very good way to get to know the members names and voices, its just not 100% accurate the comments will tell you if a part is wrong
