Leaving Vancouver, I headed across by ferry and am now back in Comox. I have taken a few raw clips since being home, including pumpkin fest, and chasing deer out of our yard! This video is just a little look at being back home and I share a few things about my life here growing up in the Comox Valley.

This is one of my favorite videos done by you. Your trek through the woods reminded me of how much fun we had venturing deep into the woods of pine trees in Baguio when we were growing up. I felt your nostalgia looking at the school you graduated from and my heart swelled listening to your story about making a firm decision to share the good things in your life. It might be just one man’s story but it reverberates far and wide!
It’s nice to be back once in our life to where we came or grow up.

Wow I have found an absolute gem on TH-cam !!. I just found your channel stumbling upon this video. When I saw the title I couldn't believe it. I'm also from the Comox Valley ( Black Creek specifically ) and seeing places I know and have been to made me feel really represented as a Canadian. Theres not enough Canadian Vloggers out there. Thankyou for showing this beautiful part of the world we live in. Hearing your story about how you grew up and who you are as a person was super special. It's interesting to learn that you also lived in the Fillipines for part of your life. That pumpkin Fest looked like lots of fun. I will definitely be watching more of your videos in the future. Appreciate your parents' generation and their hard work. They provide you a good example to follow, and they created the foundation for you to build upon. Cultural comparisons are interesting, but not usually that relevant. Accept every people, country and culture for what it can contribute to our humanity.

Had my first ferry ride from Victoria bc to Vancouver November 2020. Had so much fun. Enjoy your vacation in your beautiful homeland.
I moved to the Comox Valley at age 2…1953. I lived here till 1973, then university, med school, family, etc. Then retirement and 9-10 years ago, back to the Comox Valley. My wife and I have a great home in Point Holmes (corner of Key Bay Road and Knight Road…grey rancher on the airport and Sieferts side.)Couldn’t wish for more. Delighted to hear you’re back and enjoying all “The Valley” has to offer. Enjoy yourself, and feel free to drop in and visit…👋👋👋😊😎😎

Oh my gosh that brought up so many memories. I also grew up in Comox, went to Village Park and Highland. Seeing that made me miss home so much more now. 😢 But I loved seeing it. Thank you! 😊 ❤️

Such a beautiful and peaceful setting to grow up in! We've been to Victoria several times, visiting gardens, of course! I bought the best Maple cookies there in Victoria that I haven't found here in California.

I went to high school from grade 8-12 in the Comox valley (had to bus to Vanier, no high school in Comox at the time). Loved to see a place I am so familiar with! In fact, we are heading there this weekend to visit our son and daughter in law….I do not look forward to the ferry….

Loved the outskirts of Vancouver, so much space to enjoy! We love our healthy breakfast in the morning of blue berries & rolled Oates.

Great to see you back in Canada Kulas! I was in your area about 2 mos ago and I loved the clean air and blue sky compared to the smog I get in LA. Not so good. Food on BC Ferry is actually not bad-I loved it! Enjoy your time with family and can’t wait to see you and Bret n Butter reunion!

Funny watching this video through the eyes of a much younger person. We used to ride our dirt bikes through those trails, and target practice too. Pritchard Road ended at Noel. I graduated from Vanier even though I lived in Comox - because Highland didn't exist yet. Guthrie Rd. was two dirt ruts made by old mans Sim's tractor from Anderton to just over Brooklyn creek where there was a rickety wooden bridge. None of those houses existed. The first McDonald's didn't open in Courtenay until later 1970's where the Comox one is now was all forest.

It's always interesting & heartwarming to see someone's old homestead with the parents. Most of us average people ie. middle-class westerners have so much in common when it comes to that. It makes one really appreciate one's own parents & life even so much more, everything they've done for us. They worked hard and provided and were always there when we needed them. My childhood & upbringing in Vanc BC was so wonderful. I had a close knit group of friends from early elementary school. We stuck together through high school and are still good friends to this day. We rode our bikes religiously, everywhere all the time. We all came from happy households and I have such wonderful memories in my life. Seeing this reminds me of it all.
Great to see how many good memories come up when you come back home :) And you allways think of the Phillipines :)

Rich it's because citizens have to work hard doing 2 to 3 jobs and give money to the government. In every situation and place and time there are pros and cons, positive and negative considerations. We stay back in the Philippines it means we either live a sustainable and yet comfortable life or poor. Life in the Philippines is simple and yet there is joy and happiness because of our families and people and culture. We live in Canada or north America means your work and work and work and work unless we are moneyed or rich. Some people would say there is no life but work almost 24/7 with 2 jobs and 3 utmost. Both countries offer the best of everything to immigrants and people. It's just how we adapt to it and embrace it till we get old and die. Philippines is tropically warm country. Canada is extremely bone chillingly and depressinglly cold place to live. That's the price of living in that north American country.
@@silentfan_4423 There is so much to do in Canada: Watch major sports like hockey, baseball, NBA, NFL or CFL, wrestling, etc. Concerts by major bands also. You can go hunting bears, deer, ducks, moose, etc. However, I like the Philippines better. So it all depends on one's life style. And what you can afford.

That'll be cool if you can see Bret on this trip. We'll probably see your vlog 1 or 2 days after occurrence and then we'll see his 8 minute vlog six months later. Haha.
