Bishop Viard College won the Beard Trophy off Mana College at Porirua Park on Wednesday night. In front of a rowdy and engaged crowd at Jerry Collins Stadium, Bishop Viard College won 29-24. It was a game of two halves, with BVC leading 29-0 at halftime.
The Beard Trophy is the challenge trophy that is contested annually amongst the Western Bays/Porirua secondary schools in the Wellington region.
