    They are called fender skirts. "Ragtop" refers to a convertible. This is a hardtop coupe with a vinyl top. GM downsized its full-size cars in 1977, and again in 1985.

      Yes I figured it might've been vinyl, not realizing the difference lol. Thank you for clarifying! :)

    That thing is mint, but I never imagined an Electra without power windows and locks, etc...

    I owned a 1969 Buick Electra Limited Coupe back in 1972-73. It was fully loaded and beautiful in golden brown metallic with a beige top and interior. It was a wonderful car that always drew compliments. I sold it in 1973 to a realtor friend who put another 200,000 miles on it to my 75,000 miles when I sold it.

    A beautiful example of a ‘69 Electra 225 Sport Coupe. In 1967 Buick unveiled the new 430 CID power plant to replace its old “Nail Head” engine. The new engine rivaled the 426 Hemi in torque with the weight of the all aluminum 427 Chevrolet ZL-1. In pure stock form, with 2.56 gearing, these cars could manage low 15 seconds @ 90mph, in the quarter mile and top speeds around 135. The ‘69 Electra had a lighter stronger frame, steering box was 3.5 lock to lock, and 2.56, 2.73, 3.08, 3.23, and special option 3.9 PX Code AC delete package. A wolf in sheep’s clothing, modified Electra’s with whitewalls have been documented to run down some of NYC’s fastest street muscle in the 1970’s and 1980’s street racing scene. These days you can find Electra’s the Mother Ship, Bad LeRoy Brown, and Faithful Pursuit racing in the 12s and low 11s out running 707 hp Hemi cars and Mustangs, etc.

    Reminds me of the one I had back in 1985 when I was in the Navy. I taught my younger brother how to drive in it.

    My best friend had a black sedan with grey interior in 1983/84.
    Loved that car. Smooth, elegant, quiet and powerfull.

      I have driven cars from the 1970's all my life and still do. Enjoy.

      @@vonkeyce5866 I would also recommend checking out the early 1970s Lincolns and even the Chrysler Imperials if you can find one... They had a lot of interesting and advanced features for 50 years ago! Personally, I don't even care for the early seventies Cadillacs except for the Eldorado convertible, and that was rather shaky. If I was going to deal with a shaky chassis, I'd go with the insanely unique Lincoln 4-door convertible of 1966 to 1967.

    Had a duce and25. Was a 69 got rid of it in 2005. Only had 68 k on her . Poor car rust out and the frame broke . Now I got a 84 98 Regency coupe.

    I totally forgot to ask you if you've been allowed to drive it? You'd be amazed at how THAT much car moves out with 360 HP and 475 Ft-Lbs of torque! (on the other hand, at the pump it takes as much gas as a pickup... 😉)

    • @vonkeyce5866
      @vonkeyce5866  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't had the chance yet but I plan on test driving it soon! I'll be sure to upload it. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes that much gas lol, that car is huge 🤣🚤🚤

    This must have been a base model it has no power windows most electra's had power windows that ok because after awhile those switches ware out aspecialy on old cars like this and the parts are hard to find

    • @vonkeyce5866
      @vonkeyce5866  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it's definitely a base model with everything being manual. I wasn't aware they came with power windows, very cool that they had that in the 60's!

    Dude you can't just make up words two pieces and parts of these great cars. Talk to your uncle and study a little bit before you make a fool of yourself again. It's not called a ragtop, it's vinyl. They are called skirts, not fenders. And the shiny stuff on the ceiling is actually called a headliner, yes I said headliner, not ceiling . Well at least you got the whitewall tires right. Do your homework before your next review

    The section in the 70s and the Beautiful actor were the best they screwed him up for 72 it's gone just didn't look right. About 76 they began to look a lot better. But then The Cadillacs looked even better this is the best 2 years of the Buick Electra 225. If I can find one that I could have afforded I would have bought one. But the prices are really high now
