I've been testing my Wireless GO kit, and I love it. (Review to come.)
The one thing I thought about before getting it, was whether or not I can use the GO system for a wireless boom mic. The good news is, you can! I attached my Rode VideoMic Pro+ to a boom pole, and attached the GO transmitter to the VMP+ and...it worked! I simply used the cable that came with the the VMP+ to connect it to the transmitter. The sound is great.

Obviously, the Wireless Go by itself is rather unsightly (When being clipped to an interviewee). They were smart to provide the ability to attach an external LAV mic, and the Rode wireless LAV is a decent mic for a good price. But for quick and dirty run'n'gun recording, the wireless GO is a great choice. As you said... Game Changer. I call it a Market Killer! I am getting my 2 pairs tomorrow... Can't Wait!!

Nice quick take. Sound was good from the pro and go. Would’ve been nice to have an on-vid text indication that showed what mic was being heard. I easily noticed when the sound changed from the pro to the in camera mic. But I was a bit confused as to when the sound went from the in camera mic to the go. Thinking about it now, I’m guessing that my mind expected to hear go audio recording when you plugged it into the camera. I realize though that this was a viewer disconnect as the sound was coming from whatever camera was being used to record the footage of you rigging up the go to the camera and not the A6400 audio switching when the go was plugged in.
Brad Fogle next video I will show on screen text when using the new Go mic. Thanks for the suggestion.
If you choose not to plug it into camera can you record audio to the transmitter to sync up later?
I ask because if each receiver needs its own transmitter even if you have multiple transmitters but can only plug in one at a time it defeats the purpose unless transmitter itself can hold audio recordings
No it cannot store data on itself but you could probably use a mixer or another device I am sure to get multiple inputs of audio.
a lav mic is necessary for this kit? (rode smartlav +)
or is the audio quality very similar even with the integrated microphone? I hope so because in terms of portability it would be incredible.
I bought the sennheiser xs 1 month ago. I'll give it back in favor of the new wireless go
Dr. Ivo Bianchi you do not need a lab mic with this product. So far the internal mic works great.

Isn't that a problem that there is no way to adjust the gain on the transmiter?
What it would help to lower gain on the receiver if it's already in distortion??
You would have to go back to the receiver and fix the gain. It would be nice to be able to do it on either one tho.
Sounds too good to be true ? - Waiting with much interest to learn how it sounds when you take it out into the open with the wind howling and the muffs on - Also how far away you need to be before you can't pick up sound when you turn your back to the camera

I think they are both great products. Since this Wireless GO just came out it's hard to tell if it is going to be worth it long term for the price. But right now I am happy with it's $199 price and what you get. Stay tuned for my full review coming soon.
