I know I've already said a lot about this particular piece, but I do have one
more thing to add, except this is more
referring to the scene up and the piece mixed in.
This whole piece which starts jist as
Alan starts walking out of the church
before the explosion and ends just he
fires his pistol into the air, pausing all
the madness so he can reveal the
truth.
After Meehan storms out of the demolished church to confront Rev Rose, between this score and Alan looking at Gaunt sitting smuggly on the
porch, with the cigar and devilish smile, like he'd been waiting for this
moment, audiences know a big battle
is about to erupt and it does!
But when Meehan is standing outside
curses Rose, right on que like the mighty wrath of God, lightning strikes
the steeple blowing it up, indicating
' all hell's about to break loose!'
To be continued.....
Having seen both versions of the movie many times, I've wanted to say something about the background score for years: I certainly have my share of media musicians that I think standout
And while Patrick Doyle's score fits every scenes mood of this film, I gotta
say that a lot of it sounds operatic in a way, tell me I'm not the only one.
This part starts just as Alan is telling
father Meehan who Gaunt really is
who doesn't believe it even after his
church gets bombed.
I dunno why but this score piece fits
the scene pretty well, where Alan
sees Gaunt just causually sitting on
his store porch admiring his
devilish handiwork and practically dares Alan to come after him thru that
facial expression and smoking of the cigar!
Is there the scene musicof the 'Arriving of L. Gaunt,' extended of course, undisturbed
My all time favourite Stephen king movie..I don't know why
