Bottle gourds come in various shapes and sizes. The plant grows quite quickly and vigorously, spreading over large areas.
Bottle gourd, also called lauki, lau, khodu or doodhi, is a vegetable that is probably better known in India for its delicious preparation called dudhi ka halwa. Although its slightly bitter taste can be repelling but its high nutritional value can't be overlooked

Hi i am growing my own lau this yr in my Balcony:) i made a trellis roof and i used a large pot. My question is, when do we prune the plant for more flower?
Hi Thank you for watching our youtube channel.
I am guessing you have small trellis on the balcony.
To get the plant to produce more gourds, cut off the end of the primary vine every 7 leaves. Male flowers bloom on the primary vines, whereas female flowers bloom on secondary vines. Stopping the primary vine will allow more secondary vines to grow, which will make more gourds.
Best of luck
Let you know how you get on

Please brother can u do a video on how to build the trailer from bamboo sticks to grow your khodu? It seems very tricky. I also have a greenhouse and would love to do something like that for a change. And is it too late to do it now? JazzakAllahu khair.
Nice
Thank you 😍
Thank you for you video. As UK have the lockdown I do not have that much fertiliser .can I grow without them and instead of container can I grow into ground how deep i need to dig for the bottle Gouard
Thank you for watching my youtube channel. Its best to grow lau (khodu) in the ground. Wait till May when the weather gets warmer. You don't need too much fertilizer. I will be making a video soon about planting lau in the ground. Try using horse manure
Question: for your next video. My tomato plants are getting max 1-2 hrs of sun due to being faced west and tree shade :( will it fruit? I feel like its growing slower than other people’s tomato plants
Assalamualaikum. Thank you very much for this lovely video. I am all new to gardening this year. It was very helpful to know how you have prepared the soil for plants. All these fertiliser you have have used I had no clue about it!! I know about them all. A big Thank you. Could you please kindly do a tomatoes planting video and how to look after them? Thank you 🙏
Your welcome. Thank you for watching our youtube channel. Inshallah I will make a video about tomatoes
Thanks for sharing, it’s wonderful to see you, the baby and your son working as a team, please show us what type of fertiliser you use for naga and kodu plant on the next video thank you
Thank you for watching. As always I appreciate your comment. Inshallah I will posting a video every Thursday.
Its lovey work for best results which I did similar,
BUT at the end of the day its down to weather which can subsequently disappoint you regardless of your hard work .Good luck
We all been there!!
I know exactly how you feel.
Some you win some you lose
Best of luck
It is nice and lovely. But please mention the exact date of each step(to compare my baby trees), so we can trace our areas in the EU any regions. This will help us the probable exact date when we will put our baby trees outside.
Hi brother I have a doubt. Is that miracle grow good for Curry leaf pant? God bless
Hi Thank you for watching my youtube channel.
To be be honest with you I don't use miracle grow on vegetables or herbs I eat. I only use miracle grow on flowers in containers.
If I was you I would use chicken manure Pellets and Epson salt or coffee ground. Use a organic fertiliser high in nitrogen.
Best of luck
@@AliRajaBagan Thank you for best advice
Thanks for sharing.. can I ask one question about Epsom salt. Is that Epsom bath salt your using, or does it need a special plant Epsom salt? Thank u.
Your welcome. Yes it's the same epsom salt used for bath.
😍
Thank you
Hi how often/when do you open the vents in the greenhouse? im going to put my plants in the greenhouse but just dont want to kill them from overheat. Thanks
Open all doors and vents on sunny hot days. These can be left open at night if the temperature remains high. ... In changeable weather, vents and doors often have to be left partially open to limit sudden increases in temperature. Larger greenhouses may, at high cost, be fitted with automated ventilation and shading.
Hi what can I start to grow now in January like kodu plant or others?
nice info.liked your video-------how large should be the container for for growing kaddu----12 by 10 or a little bigger?
Thank you for watching. Use a large and a deep container, minimum 14 inches.
Best of luck
@@AliRajaBagan thankyou!!!!should I pluck the male flower and leave female on the plant?
I only plunk of male flowers when it's dead
@@AliRajaBagan thankyou !!!

Bottle gourd
You should grow your vegetables in the ground after the last frost. It depends on the weather and the area you live in. Plant your langla lau around 10th of May
Best of luck
I live in London
How do you look after your plants regularly?
Looking after plants is same as looking after your kids. If you care for your plant, you will find time for it.

Assalamualaikum Ali bhai I was hoping you can give me some advice and some tips, I've brought a Bangla kudu plant from an asian grocery shop in Birmingham where I live. and have never really planted anything before if I wanted to plant it in the garden soil how do I go about doing this.
I see you have mentioned to plant it in around may in your video and do I add the chicken manure, fish blood and bone + the epson salt directly to the soil ? Directly underneath where I'm going to plant the kodu plant or spread in the surrounding area. if you can give me some advice that would highly be appreciated thank you.
Wa alaykum as Salam

Hi, do u sell naga plant?if u sell please let me know
Thank you for watching my youtube channel. We don't sell Naga plants but we are thinking of selling mature Naga plant later in the year. We will make a announcement if we do😍
Ali Raja Bagan Bari Uk ok thank you for ur reply
To this
Brother amar bas law gas 1 pot maje 2 ta gas akon pata ta yellow goye jacche ki korbo please bolben
The most common reason that plants' leaves turn yellow is because of moisture stress, which can be from either over watering or under watering. If you have a plant that has yellow leaves, check the soil in the pot to see if the soil is dry
No soil not dry
Gas alada kortam ni 2 pot
Separate the plant's in to 2 separate pots..
What does bagan means
Thank you for watching our youtube channel😍
Bagan means garden in bengali
Is it time to put them outside now
Thank you for watching my youtube channel. I wouldn't put the plants in the ground just yet, wait till May when the weather gets warmer. Until then keep it Indoors or in a green house
We love watching your channel will watch it with out kids
