  • 10 Year Old | First Time Listening to Living on a Prayer - Bon Jovi Reaction
    Hi we're Dan and Alex! My son and I are taking it in turns reacting to songs that we like that the other hasn't heard. In this video I introduce Alex to the glorious days of 80's Rock Videos!

    Jon Bon Jovi is 61 years old now and Richie Sambora (guitarist) is 64 years old. Tico on drums is 70 and David Bryan on the keyboards is 61 and Alec on bass guitar sadly passed away last year at the age of 71. This was the breakout single world wide and helped propel them to one of the biggest bands in the world.

      Incredible band for sure! Thanks for the extra info although I know most of their songs I don't actually know much about the band themselves!

    Love your reaction video and I can tell you exactly how this Bon Jovi video was made because I was there! Living On a Prayer and others from the Slippery When Wet album were filmed over two days in 1986 at an old boxing arena in Los Angeles. A local radio station, KNAC, put out a call for listeners to come to a free Bon Jovi concert (they were popular but not huge at the time). I took time off work to be there. Everything you see in the video is how it happened live - the pyrotechnics, the flying, the energy. Vince Neil, the lead singer from Mötley Crüe, was hanging out just off stage and would come out to chat with the audience between takes. It was an experience I’ll never forget! Glad you got to see and appreciate the video. And glad that, like Jon Bon Jovi himself, I’m also still alive!

    When your son says something (or you) during the music that needs to be mic'd up. That is what a reaction is. He is very observant and precocious, though.

    Take a year to make. ;O)
    What you're seeing is actually a stage set up that would've been used every show of that tour. Put up, knocked down, loaded into numerous tractor trailer trucks and moved to the next city. For an indoor arena the load in would start very early in the morning the day of and the whole thing would be packed up by sometime after midnight, usually later than that.
    I was in this biz during that time and we did concerts that were way bigger than this. For instance The Rolling Stones, among many others, in football stadiums. Those took around 5 days, give or take, to set up and 4 to 5 to take down.

    • @SaxCasts
      @SaxCasts  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      haha that's insane! What memories you must have from that!

      @@SaxCastsIt was a crazy business. We did set a record once that I don't think anyone has done since. I know it wasn't attempted before.
      We put The WHO in a football stadium in 16 hours.
      There was a college football game the night before the show and we couldn't get the stadium until 11 PM the day before. The WHOs production manager and I had to figure out how to jam about 5 days into overnight. We did it with several hundred local union and non-union hires and so many forklifts that if one broke down or got a flat we just pushed it out of the way and got another one from the forklift pool we established.
      At 3 PM the next day the promoter, I and one of our production guys were standing at downstage (front) center when we called security on the radio to open the gates. Our boss, the promoter, said, you guys did it! We can do this all the time. My colleague laughed and said, "You ain't seen the bill yet". ;O)
