Ku, it is interesting to me that you want to throw out Ivey’s good streak in January as an exception. This streak correlates exactly to when Cade was out and they actually had to run things with Ivey. I see this not as an anomaly, but as what Ivey can contribute if he is included in the plan and not just standing at the three point line waiting for a late clock kick out to be forced to jack up a shot or plow into a crowded lane. The offense actually moved faster in this stretch and they won a few games.
I'm a bit confused. why is it perceived as hate if you don't like a player. everyone is entitled to an opinion. I like Jaden Ivey. I want him on the team. But we all know, and Jaden Ivey knows that he MUST BE BETTER!!
Ivey off the bench for sure.....and the Ausar development should be the #1 priority moving forward! The most interesting dynamic this year will be how JB handles that 5 position! Winning games and the Cade..Ausar leaps will be the story moving forward!
Truth is, the Pistons roster issues would be resolved if they kept Hayes as back up PG. Yes Hayes got plenty of "run" under Monte and was inefficient. But, he was misplayed as the 2 guard sitting in the corner while Cade ran the show. Nothing wrong with Cade having the ball. But except for a brief stretch in his rookie year before he got hurt, Hayes seldom got a chance to play with the ball as a traditional PG with guys on the floor who could shoot or cut.
For The Record, I hope Ivey thrives, that makes him and Cade one of those Good Problems. I just don't think it happens. I hope I'm wrong - which I'm wrong a lot.
Make or break year for Ivey. If he doesn’t really shine this year, he’s pretty much in No Return Bust territory because he will never have trade value again. Honestly, fair or not because of his supporting cast, Cade is looking like a future John Wall kind of situation, too. Might be best to just go ahead and pass all of the painful Troy Weaver kidney stones and truly start from square one.
Ku, Ausar is a good young prospect that the Pistons need to continue to develop but you are a little too emotionally attached to him. He will be better served developing in a bench role to start the season. He like will get more ball handling opportunities on the bench than in the starting lineup as well. Now I will admit now that I am probably too emotional attached to Jaden Ivey but I will make my case anyway. I have more belief than any other young player not named Cade, he can develop a above average three point shot. He was hurt I think more so than Cade by the lack of spacing last year. He so far has been the healthiest of the young players we have. Now everyone talks about how bad he was in the last third of the season which he was. But he had no help. Cade, Duren, Ausar, fontecchio, Stewart, and grimes were all injured. He was playing with 14 g leaguers almost every night with three people drop into the paint on his drives. The opponents only needed to guard Ivey. Not to mention he said in the end of year interview he was playing through a ankle injury.

One thing that I can say Ivey has never done that Cade has done twice. Shot 28% from 3pt for a season even with all his inconsistency and I don't need a bunch of Advance stats to prove that. So all the non objective cherry picking stats won't change that fact. Lol
@@LockedOnPistons So this is why I say you cherry pick. You love to focus on last year Ivey but never really talk about the positives in his rookie season like you did for Cade from 2 and half years. You don't do that for Ivey. Your only focus seems to be Cade. What he needs and how Detroit can't lose him. You've been down on Ivey since he got to Detroit. Maybe that's just my observation. Its okay to disagree all I ask for is objectivity. Then explanations on how Monty had no plan for him then a whole host of ideas will be spouted off about how Monty should have been using him so he can be effective but with Ivey throw him to the bench and give him a smaller role. That's best role. Never talking about how he should used or how it could work next to Cade. That's the idea for Ivey right. It's valid for opinion media to believe Ivey doesn't have it because none of the Weaver picks have proven themselves yet. Ku frequently talks about spot up three point shooting. Defense is probably the most important aspect of any impactful role player lmao. I’m not out on Ivey. I do hope he can be a serviceable defender.
At the same time long term I can see Cade, Ron and Ausar starting.
I don’t have any issues with people not being out on him, the signs and potential are there!!
One thing that I can say Ivey has never done that Cade has done twice. Shot 28% from 3pt for a season even with all his inconsistency and I don't need a bunch of Advance stats to prove that. So all the non objective cherry picking stats won't change that fact. Lol
Spot up #’s and finishing at the rim are cherry picked numbers?💀
@@LockedOnPistons So this is why I say you cherry pick. You love to focus on last year Ivey but never really talk about the positives in his rookie season like you did for Cade from 2 and half years. Cade shot piss poor his first two seasons. Did not finish well his first 2 seasons but yet you would come on here and say I believe in Cade I have some positive numbers to show that this can change. You don't do that for Ivey. Your only focus seems to be Cade. What he needs and how Detroit can't lose him. You've been down on Ivey since he got to Detroit. Maybe that's just my observation. Its okay to disagree all I ask for is objectivity. Give the same leeway you gave Cade to develop instead of expecting Ivey to be developed in the worst conditions and faster than you expected for Cade.
Stew improved as a shooter last year. Ivey will do so this year.
It won't silence the critics in either case. But Stew is desired by playoff teams for a reason.
@@pheralanpathfinder4897 That's true and fair but Stew was in his 4th year right? Correct me if I'm wrong. What I'm pointing out is the lack of objectivity when it comes to certain players. For instance. This is what will be said about Ausar. Monty was using him inefficiently. Then some cherry picked advanced metric on a small sample size that shows why he should be starter. Instead of actually listening to what JB has clearly said about how Ivey should be used and he thinks that Cade and Ivey can work. Nope it's alway a bunch of videos how it hasn't worked even though sample size is meager at best. Vidoes/X posts on why Ausar should start even though he is a complete non shooter. Funny thing is I like all these players from Ausar, Cade, Ivey, Duren, and Holland to me all have special talent. Just want to see these guys get a fair shot before having to eventually separating them. That's all I'm saying
@@Truthtella everyone has favorites and players they don't expect to develop. Is Drew 24 months older than Ivey?
Yet we act like he's already in his prime. If a player is in there prime from 25-30 or so, Stew is about three years from his prime.
It's valid for opinion media to believe Ivey doesn't have it because none of the Weaver picks have proven themselves yet.
Ku frequently talks about spot up three point shooting. To me that sounds like he wants more Cade heliocentric offense next season. Cade being on ball almost 100% of the time was discussed in this video. One of the guests even talked about the concerns related to taking the ball out of Cade's hands.
I can't help but notice Cade's body language didn't seem great when he was playing off ball and Ivey was playing point. It will be very difficult for Ivey to succeed if Cade doesn't buy in.
On the other hand Ivey improving may solve all the issues.
Think cade need to play more off ball asuar and ivey need more on Ball reps starting lineup if trying to compete should be cade Beasley fronttechio Tobias duren if trying to compete while giving young players playing time cade Ivey asuar Tobias duren if tanking cade ivey Holland asuar stew
Stew is probably one of the four best players on the team. His ceiling is lower than some others but he wins
@@pheralanpathfinder4897 I think he like 6 th best on team and don't have a true position yet
@@pheralanpathfinder4897 Stew is the second-best player on the team.
@@scottwickett1273no he isn't thats ivey which actual Playing time. And stew isn't it at all.
@@BreakingSanitywithSaintAce No he fucking is not, and you are really fucking stupid if you believe that.
Stew is better than all of his teammates except Cade; blame Weaver.
The Piston missed it by drafting ivy. It was like drafting mateen cleaves. You had to take ivy because of the back story that comes with him. Am I saying ivy is a bad player absolutely not. His timin here is a (square in a circle) type fit. its a bittersweet situation with ivy, you can trade him and there's success there or you can keep him and there's success there or you can be bench him also. The bad that you speak about ivy isn't that to be expected from a young player? Doesn't growth spurts come with the territory of drafting some player that is so young and raw? When you say ivey not as good as Kade, do you mean equally as matured efficient as Cade.
Ausar is not a nba player you can’t get by on just Defense since when has defense mattered more than offense Ron is better trade Ausar
Defense is probably the most important aspect of any impactful role player lmao. It’s easier to build off of good defense and learn to be a good shooter, than it is to build off of only good shooting and become a good defender. Most of the high impact role players in the league are elite defenders, like Jrue Holiday or Derrick White.
@@obi3924this is not necessarily true. A lot of young guards struggle on defense because they are playing against grown men or have mental lapses where they don’t know when to rotate. There are players who never become good shooters just like there are players who never commit to becoming good defenders
He was delusional when talking about killian for 4 years lol
Totally agree on Ivey, KU. Point guard? I don't see it
Ivey is a good passer, creator, and leader. He needs to improve efficiency just like Cade and Ivey needs to improve on defense.
I see it more with Ivey than Cade 🤷🏿♂️
@@Beastmode298 I prefer Cade as a point 2/3 and someone else playing PG. I'm not sure if Ivey will be the someone else but he has a chance.
@@pheralanpathfinder4897 No, none of this is correct.
Based on what? Your feelings?
This guy really hates Ivey yet loves Killian Hayes lol
Ivey will start and be amazing under a coach with a brain in Bickerstaff
I wish I shared your optimism.
So Monty was right.
Been saying from day 1. they cant co exist. Ivey doesnt suck, he needs the ball.
I dont buy the excuse of Ivey being hampered because of coaching and lack of time. Other NBA players go through the same thing, and still develop. Hes a professional adult male, deal with it and get better.
Ive never seen a grown man, coddled by other grown men as much as Ivey.
I swear yall the most hated people on ivey
It's not hate, he is simply a bad player.
People in the piston community love J.I
It’s the Detroit piston “media” who tries to create narratives against J.I and cloud the judgment of their following
@@LamronNormal-o1p This is simply untrue, I think?
Opinion is divided on whether or not he is any good at all, and your slanderous accusations regarding the "media" don't change that fact.
The roster should be Cade,Ivey,Fontechhio,Tobias and Duren. No belief in Ivey but you believed in Hayes?? We have more spacing and Ivey is a speed merchant. Ivey can defend better then Malik beasly. Ku you explained how Ivey has been down with touches. Thats because of the trash ivey was playing with. His catch and shoot numbers better. Monty messed up alot of numbers also Ivey needs to grow like all players. A block a game is amazing for guards. This hate is wild Especially since Beasly is Alec burks lite. Ivey can score from all 3 levels.
What evidence do we have that Ivey can score at the 2nd level?
Your lineup just went 14-68 again because they gave up 200 PPG.
@@LockedOnPistons He has a midrange that came alive last year. And he shoots 35 from the 3. He can hit off the dribble 3s. Ivey is a threat that defenders have to stay attached to and they run at him from 3. Inclose Ivey is shifty with his footwork and quickness to get anywhere. His speed alone unlocks his whole game and he is hitting 3s. Ivey's main problem was spacing now we have that. He has that floater he has off the glass shots as well. Ivey can get whatever shot he wants.
@@scottwickett1273 Thats not even remotely the same lineup. You're guys stew and killian started. On my list stew is on the bench. Ans hayes is where he should be gone.
@@LockedOnPistons Iveys freethrows and his shot percentage at the rim. Is beyond whatever guards we have. How effortlessly he gets into the paint. Thats a huge strength. And his 3 he was shooting it at 36 percent last season. Ivey's concerns was his shooting and he has showed he can shoot. He has always been a bucket. And he is a 3 level scorer outside of Cade for our young. Guys now Defenders give him even more of a chance to blow by them. Because they have to guard him from 3. Plus his mid will only get better. And the line up i named offers Ivey spacing. This just isn't about Cade. Ivey is 1b and needs to be utilized more.
