You guys are lucky to be able to combine canola and keep your seed for the next season! Here in Canada we have to buy seed every year. We can’t regrow what we grew year prior. Keep ‘em combines rollin and the money rollin!!!
We can only keep OP (open pollinated) seed. You aren’t allowed to keep any hybrid seed and grow again the following year. But keeping the OPs definitely is a cheaper option and when it yields just as well as some of the hybrids you wonder why you bother with them
Hi John and the team. Could you do an introduction to the others like Annabell, George, and, of course, those lovely dogs of yours who clearly love their rides in the back of the pickup truck's. Cheers.
Hey JH , we grow seed hybrid canola on our farm in NZ . Seed company are very particular about rouging out off types. It’s all inspected regularly by the government regulator. If you bought certified seed you should get some of your seed cost back at a minimum?
I would like to think so but don’t like our chances. It’s been a widely reported issue this year and seed companies are just putting their heads in the sand
Yer that would definitely work, I don’t have the capacity to swath or pick up swaths though so I’m stuck with having to direct head the canola unfortunately.
Awesome video once again. Go JH and the Tom’s brook Team.
Thanks
❤
To see the Union Jack flying gave me, in the UK, quite an uplift. Thanks for an
interesting video and best regards.
Glad to hear you’re yields are going well. 👍🇺🇸🇮🇪

@@tomsbrookfarm yeah! Even that isn’t a thing here! All canola must be sold!
@@tomsbrookfarm : How many Hectares do you have all up ? It looks bloody big.
So uh…. Yeah..!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good to here your Canola yields, and yes the crop is as unpredictable here in the UK!

Is the Union Jack fitted correctly?
Yep he somehow managed to get it the right way up
Given your comments about off types, would windrowing the canola dry off the green and protect what is already dry?

“Can’t see the piles behind you” - yeah, but the itching is an indication
