This is BEAUTIFUL! To be honest, this arrangement seems far more creative than the one they used in the movie. It seems sweeter and more heartfelt. I love this version!
I agree that the movies version was a little lacklustre in terms of melody, but a lot of folk songs actually use only one or two measures for entire songs. Since the melodies are typically taught through listening rather than being written out, it's easier to remember that way, which might be why they went for a more simple melody in the films. I do vastly prefer this version though, it's absolutely stunning and I'm in tears.
I know this video is old but I just want to say that I suffer from extreme OCD and anxiety and when my anxiety keeps me from sleeping I listen to this song to calm down. The way you sing it is so very soothing and it helps me so much. I like the movie version but I feel this one just captures the calming, hopeful elements of the song so much better ♥️
There are so many different tunes for this song, I've heard 3 different ones here on youtube(including the official one) and I also have my own version, but Hanging tree's official tune is very similar to how I thought it would be when I read the book.
What a lovely voice, and this is the best version I've heard.... This is very close to what I had in mind when I read Hunger Games {And way before the movie came out.}
honestly though, i think thats what makes this version kind of nice, because the sorrow in the song doesn't have to be in the melody. that's what makes it so sad
1. This is flipping gorgeous. I can't express how much I love this. 2. I don't know if there's a place to give requests, but I'm also a HUGE lunar Chronicles fan, and I'd love to hear a Sweet Crescent Moon by you. Once again, idk I'd you do requests, but it's another great book lullaby. I love your songs!
I forced myself to not get attached to Rue while reading and wasn’t really sad when she died, but thinking about Katniss singing her this song is making me tear up- 😭☠️
Oh my gosh how am I only discovering this now? This is stunning. So sweet and heartfelt. Infinitely better than the movie’s version.
Wow! You literally have a disney princess’ voice🤩🤩

I agree. The movie version seemed so lazy hahaha. It was literally like two measures repeated over and over...
Actually this one is from the ballads of songbirds and snakes, from lucy gray.....thats why its different
Aman sharma no, this cover was actually made a while before Ballad came out.

This might just be my favorite cover.

This is how I will imagine this song now.
Youve made it like a musical/play. Almost Disney. Very nice, but ☝🏻 and sorry… its missing that sorrow longing and loss 🙏🏻❤️

Lovely! And any chance you will have the sheet music available for this beautiful music? ♥
No shade to jl but this is so much better than the movie deep in the meadow
Pink Balm movie? Deep in the meadow isn’t a movie bruh.
Lucy Gray Baird l meant the movie version of deep in the meadow when they have Jennifer Lawrence sing
Pink Balm oh Mockingjay Part 1 right?
Lucy Gray Baird Mockingjay Part 2 actually. It’s at the end when Katniss and Peeta are with their children in the meadow of District 12.
Pink Balm Ahh shit yeah I forgot, I was thinking of the “Hanging Tree”.
