This is a problem i have with lots of people... Contribute to society because you pay the council tax? So much wrong with this statement... You assume that this contribution yields a direct benefit to you? I would argue it does not... at least not in the way you think... Example: When you go to work you receive a payment for that work... if you went to work and received no direct payment for your work, would you consider it a benefit? Same thing with council tax, i look at this way... Where does the money go to, who is receiving these payments, how much goes to councils pensions? What proportion of the money actually goes to services that indirectly benefit you and so on... i could be here all day.. making the assumption that CT benefits you is foolish...

It really is that simple. People must first loose their fear which has been drummed into them from nursery school and onto further education and the ultimate man's indoctrination the University. This is the first hurdle to recognised, and realise YOU have the power to question everything without fear. It is about proving their claim, you consented to a contract and obligation to pay. I do get what people are saying here and I agree with much of it but services to the public have to be paid for some how, whether they should be paid out of National taxation is a question to be considered but since the money raised by council tax goes to the government anyway, perhaps not. Two big problems though is now the hugh cost of the tax which to many people is now becoming increasingly, unaffordable. Also is the inherent unfairness built into the council tax politicians have never addressed. On the broader side with regard to all taxation. It seems to me, one of the cannon's of any tax is it should be affordable, a cannon which seems to be increasingly being lost. Instead of central and local government thinking of increasingly more ingenious ways to raise tax and increasing tax. Perhaps they should try growing the economy.
Then surely that correct way is to tax the supper rich with £50m+ in asset or the rich will just get richer who don't pay tax only the working class pay tax

I managed to get rid of high court bailiffs, they kept flashing a tablet with a warrent, I repeatedly asked to see the judges signature , I called the police, who fair play asked to see what was written, the bailiffs in they're anger blurted out the judges name, to which I made a phone call to the bailiffs office manger, he went quiet, I never heard from them again there's no record or case number logged at the magistrates court, so the judge didn't sign anything because they're not on oath for coucil tax arrears, and debt recovery, this was 4 years ago, my costs were wiped of and still no demand.
I don't mind paying council tax . It's the amount. Far bigger than other European country's. And services cut year on year. Then you hear of councils loosing money on foreign investments !!!!!. . Horror stories of council waste. . Why is it so expensive ???
It's expensive as they'll keep nudging the price up til the subjects do something tangible in opposition. They'll have "war gamed" thoroughly to assess whether there'll likely be opposition.
When I have had letters from 3rd party debt collectors, I just give them a call under the legal representative of my name, make it known to them that they are recording the call so it is all admissible in court, then state that unless the debt collection company can give evidence that my "client" has signed a contract with said company within 14 days, then they will be sued for harassment. Funnily enough, those companies never produce any "evidence", because, lo and behold, there isn't any. They do not contact again.
Not sure if this has already been pointed out or picked up but the guy in the letter at the beginning states that he has not had any letters from any debt collection agencies BUT he HAS had them at his property 🚩 There are some good advice in the letter BUT I'd be VERY careful to some points they are making.
It seems this can only apply to people who have paid off their house in full, and were able to purchase their car for cash. If you rent, or have a car payment, it's probably impossible. Or have I missed something?

The list on how to avoid paying council tax, is as long as you wish to actually dig up. Anyone of many things you need to become as like: A single mother (with or without a live in boyfriend), any form of being registered as a low income person, an Immigrant (legal or not), a home bed person rather than an out to work one or any sort. The list is extremely long once anyone knows the system. You can add to that free housing and many other things apart from not paying council tax and why council are now starting to go bankrupt. Anywhere you can see high rise blocks of flats, few flats make any money at all for the respective councils however some tenants sublet, so make a good living out of doing so. Two and three bedroom flats / houses now can hold two to three whole families with four and more children to each family. Council tax is a very small part of the tip of a massive iceberg of what some do not pay or even asked to. To some, we also supply working mobile phones, so they can keep in touch telling others what can be claimed and the way around how to claim it. Once of course you have a council flat there's no need to ever work again seems to be the mindset of hundreds of millions.

I’m not sure how to feel about this. It’s like cheating the system that others abide by and making it harder and more expensive for the rest of us. I pay my taxes, council tax, the lot. Someone has to collect bins and fix roads etc.
The problem is very little of your tax goes to fixing roads, collecting rubbish etc. Most of it is used for things that most if not virtually all people would never actually agree too if they were given a choice. The BOE was paid back for the debt it gave dozens of times over by now, yet because of friends in high places they take the VAST majority of the money you pay in tax. What is left goes in no small part to corrupt foreign governments, though I am sure its a coincidence that our politicians make money from these close relationships I wouldnt want to suggest otherwise of course. While you are right that some things need to be paid for the problem is that isnt where the money is going.
But council tax does not pay for most services it's a complete con. Bins for example are through government contracts. They award the rubbish firms Serco / Veoli big contracts and profit off your rubbish. Barely 10% gets spent on services the rest is squandered on pensions and everything else. It's need to be abolished and restructured fairly. They won't though because the extortion racket is too well protected.
It doesn’t do maintenance or cut grass , we have to pay a management company a monthly fee for that , councils do not adopt new or newish estates any more.

If the council say that they are going to apply for a liability order for CT debt and then the next point is you have bailiffs calling writing and visiting …… on my research no one to this date can show me the liability order. Not the council not the bailiffs or even when checking the courts there has never been a liability order on my name or property. Surely the bailiffs have no right of action without one. Any thoughts or advice pls
This trust idea may well work, but if you pay no income tax it is because you have no income. Thus little or no council tax do. Futher you dont need a gate you can write to bailiffs removing there right of access to your property. Thus they would need a warrant to enter. A garage will keep your car safe. If in your name.

There is no contract for ANY tax, but if the government says you have to pay it and has a compliant system under its control, then not paying it will lead to pain.
Council tax is used to fund adult social (large and ever increasing need), roads & street lights, libraries, rubbish collections, planning, fire & police services, and more. Don't most people use these at some point? We can't choose individually which ones we don't want to pay for. There may be waste, abuse or corruption within some councils and that is totally unacceptable and must be investigated. But a minority refusing to pay CT will be simply mean cost rises for those who do pay. Presumably those few people now successfully avoiding payment are able to do so because coouncils eventually give up chasing. However, I believe if a majority were to stop paying, the government would find other, increasingly forceful ways of recovering the money. Why wouldn't they simply increase general taxation which for most of us is taking out of earnings?
I find this very surprising. I live in Scotland and have no objection to paying my council tax. I know the money is used to pay for all the services we require and enjoy. I also have the same attitude as this letter writer.. I’m 4 years in on all demands for payment.. it’s not that I don’t want to contribute to society but it’s going to be a cold day in hell before I contribute to criminal behaviour enacted on society..
good luck to all brave enough to make a stand.. if we all did it to the best of our individual situations what can they do.. we should set a date and collectively cancel all standing orders to said criminal corporations.. how about April 1?? Seems like an obvious date to go for 😘 peace and love to all 💛
This is a problem i have with lots of people...

One of the problems no one mentions in relation to council tax is the opening of the welfare state to the world. Services such as housing, social services, schools, etc. have been not been funded by central government despite net immigration now running at 1.2 million a year!

The list on how to avoid paying council tax, is as long as you wish to actually dig up. Anyone of many things you need to become as like:
A single mother (with or without a live in boyfriend), any form of being registered as a low income person, an Immigrant (legal or not), a home bed person rather than an out to work one or any sort.

This trust idea may well work, but if you pay no income tax it is because you have no income. Thus little or no council tax do.
Best way is to remind them that every Council in the UK is bankrupt which makes it ILLEGAL for any UK Council to carry on collecting Poll Tax
Not every council in the uk is bankrupt, but most soon will be ….

I find this very surprising. I live in Scotland and have no objection to paying my council tax. I know the money is used to pay for all the services we require and enjoy. It pays for our recycling and rubbish removal, libraries and all the services we require. We don't pay for water here but the cost of sewerage is included in our council tax. It is our responsibility to contribute to our local area if wee want to live in a decent place. I am a pensioner and have a limited income. I get a 25% rebate on my council tax, as I live alone.
Most poor people don't understand that they are entitled to a 90% council tax reduction or more depending on your circumstances. You just need to show your income is low and bingo it's that easy., Hope this helps.

Richard everyone buy an acre and farm it Vorbes😂. Richard some of us have full time jobs and don't tit about on TH-cam.
Only thing I’d say is the council is meant to be providing various services. If we all decide not to pay the council tax what do you think will happen?
The ceo will not be on an obscene salary and the council will have to spend your money wisely. Phil.
And your council actually provide various services? What services are those? We now have to pay to have our garden waste removed, on top of an increase in the C Tax anyway? You do know that a large part of the C Tax goes to housing, clothing and feeding the invaders? Why should we pay for them and so have less in the coffers to provide for the Brits?
@@rivermoon6190 thats why they want to charge even higher amount from april then normally .
@@rivermoon6190 agreed about our visitors. Something put on us by our masters in Whitehall. Still wouldn’t like to see what happens when everyone refuses to pay. Refuse, social care, parks the list is endless will get worse than they are now.
Where we are, garden refuse is included. We are the lucky ones 😂
Andy? Can I have your taxi service drive to Brum, pick me up and take me to Edinburgh FOC?
They'll put up central govt taxes. But at least then the tax burden will be more obvious
So, what happens when this person wants medical care ?
I DO NOT CONSENT
Become the grey man don't exist in their system like neo in the matrix come and go don't interact with the borg
Just stop paying simples!
No C.t..No water… No electricity..people ..us that don’t pay..are not going to stick our heads above the parapet…no tv licence either…Income tax..!! Did you know there is no law that tells you to pay Income tax…it’s voluntary…
No - this is misinformation.
@@StudentDad-mc3pu I'm afraid Pippa is right. If you're sure you're right, then show us the law. Not legislation drawn up by a bankrupt corporation. Thankyou.

@@mrhouse3826 Local government finance act 1992 section 6. All legislation applies to to everyone (including visitors) in England. I would love to see you or pippa popping over to Germany or Spain and then telling them their driving laws don't apply to you - that would be hilarious. Whilst in the UK you are subject to the laws of the UK. Pippa is absolutely wrong.
Smells like prison somewhere in the future.....
If you own or rent a house you have to paid council tax, end of. Don't pay and councils will use the bottomless pit of those that do pay to make you pay. If you still don't pay you will go to prison as its a criminal offence. Its just a matter of time. The advice to effectively remove yourself from any records sounds a lot of work for little gain. A trust won't work, the trust will be liable. If you rent, your landlord will not want a charge against his property and will evict you.
There’s a rabbit off cos in Spain you pay for your rubbish to be collected ?
Love it, next stop paying utilities
Does he ever need to require a doctor. Hope he’s got private health insurance. Where does he take any refuse - the dustmen can’t come to his house, you need to pay council tax to use the public recycling centre. I guess he hasn’t children of school age he’d need to pay for a private education. Homeschooling wouldn’t be an option as you need a proper address.
What an ignorant and arrogant comment...
What do you think all the other taxes we pay go towards ? We are taxed on pretty much everything we buy and spend . Where do you think all the war machine money comes from ? Where do our useless MP’s salaries and pensions come from ? It is a myth that our council tax is spent on services in our areas . It is a con .
@@sobeit1927 every year I go through the budget for the council tax. In my area the majority is spent on Police, Schools, Highways etc. there is some spent on stuff I have an issue with but it’s a minute proportion of the budget!

Would be so much fairer, better if the Community Charge & Business Rates were abolished altogether & were replaced by Local Regional Purchase Tax on Consumerable Goods, Products & Services including Interest Rates with all 100% of monies going to the Regional Local Authorities?
