Amazing video. I think it’s so interesting that the food culture differ so much around the world. Here in the south of Brazil our dinner is usually is like a sandwich, bread with cheese, eggs and this type of thing, and drink black coffee, because our main meal is lunch. So, basically, we eat in lunch Whole foods that require a preparation and it’s more nutritious. A lot of this “girl dinner” is like a normal dinner to me, especially those with breads, cheese, maybe some peace of a cake… but very good approach on ed in the video, this is something that we never should normalize.
Thank you for sharing - that is a very good point on differences in sizes of meals in various cultures. Even within Europe, some cultures have very light lunches like a sandwich, and then dinner is a large meal - others are the opposite way around and more like "girl dinner" :)
I could also add Slavic, Russian perpective. We have this saying: eat breakfast by yourself, share your lunch with a friend and give your dinner to the enemy lol 😁 which culturally translated to breakfasts being usually a satiating, calorie dense meal, as well as lunch being large in portion with both soup amd main, and then dinner be like a cup of kefir with berries or something light like that. That must be a reason that I'm not used to proper, time consuming, cooked from scratch type of dinners, girl dinner speaks to my soul, I love a random assortment of whatever when I arrive home in the evening 😊
Much of Britain "traditionally" used to be more of a big meal in the middle of the day and small "tea" in the evenings. I say traditionally in inverted commas because this became more common during the industrial period, when men would return home for lunch and have a full cooked meal. I think the picky tea is a much more modern invention but I remember having many growing up. It was always fun concocting something from all the leftovers we had in
I didn’t even know this was a thing… but on the topic of the quick food combo of my choice, recently it’s been slices of deli meat (usually turkey) wrapped around pickle spears. 🤷🏻♀️ I always appreciate the balance you bring to conversations about food and eating!
haven't watched the whole video yet, but I didn't quite understand why girl dinner was a thing because as a German, having "Brotzeit" aka bread with different toppings, veggies etc is an everyday thing - I grew up on "girl dinner" and so did millions of non-americans lol
Girl dinner is it's original form just sounds like a German Abendbrot to me. We just have bread and cheese and fruits and/or raw or pickled veggies Edit: Sorry. Haven't watched the whole video before making this comment.😅 Thank you for mentioning it!
i would LOVE to see someone analyse the fact that this trend comes at the same time as 'white people food' in China. it's so interesting how in america this is called 'girl dinner', but in europe this is just antipasto or tapas etc. and is normal (because these foods in europe are higher quality than under the us rules), AND in china a similar concept has such a radically different reaction (because in chinese cuisine you always cook vegetables, and they consider raw veg are for animals)! great video x
Jessica you came so early with this video and I really really enjoyed watching your vlogs so so much you are my inspiration and I wish you have a best week ahead💕💫🤗

Same here. I'm greek. Nobody eats full meals at dinner here, unless it's a special occasion

Girl dinner song is definitely one of the songs of all time
Looool the boy dinner song was still better than both girl dinner songs 😭
I respectfully disagree, I like the second girl dinner song best but that's just me lol I'm sure I'm not in the majority there

Thanks for covering this trend!
I like both original dinners songs
As a Portuguese I’d say, bread and olives are a priority in my house 😂
My mom always says, "numa casa onde não há pão, todos ralham e ninguém tem razão" 😂
@@JessicaVianaa verdade! True true.

Went to grab my earphones cause boy dinner song is sooo good
I eat only 1 full meal per day, and it's lunch. The rest of the day I snack on girl breakfast, girl mid day snack and of course, ✨GURL DINNERRRR✨💅
