Takes me back to high school. This album was huge in the scene when it dropped. If any single album defines that era, it's probably this one. Their first 2 albums (Stand Up and Reckless) are tight then I stopped caring about them. Those 2 are still fun to throw on every one n then. They are British, but Ben Bruce (guitar) started the band in 2006 in Dubai. Then he went back to the UK, got completely new members, then they went to America to record this stuff with Joey Sturgis.
This was the epitome of their early days, song is from their first album in 2009, and the video in 2011, they started out as a metalcore/electronicore band, the first 2 albums are widely considered their golden days as they were deep in the sex, drugs and partying lifestyle , the 3rd was noticeably different but still heavy, then the lead singer left, a new one came in for their 4th album, which was still heavy while being melodic, then that singer quit and the original one came back, the 5th album was a big change in sound but still had some semi-heavy bangers, the 6th was even more of a change as they went rock with hints of pop, the 7th, which has Alone Again, was more hard rock, and their latest from 2023 was pretty much a mix of everything which made it the heaviest they’ve been in a while. Also that guitarist that sung sings on about 1-2 songs per album.
The sex drugs and partying isn't why they were so beloved though, it was absolutely the music. They'd still be one of the biggest in metalcore if Danny didn't lose interest in doing heavy music.
This album takes me back to highschool. The struggles the depression and the band that helped me get through it. I will always love this band but I'll always love the earlier days when they were heavier
Nah this is absolutely a moshing song. Every song this band has from this era is a moshing song. That's a metalcore clean, not pop punk. They have incredibly catchy choruses to sing along to, it's a good thing in this genre.
