The only real problem I saw was that all the bolts in the rear suspension were re-torqued with the suspension in full droop. You should always wait to torque until the cars weight is back on the suspension so that the bushings are naturally neutral at ride height. Not the end of the world but something that should be done.
Ya, I noticed that also. When you tighten everything when its hanging, it twists the bushing when weight is on the suspension and can make the bushings wear out sooner and can also effect ride height.
Came down here to note that as well. There is some pretty good discussion on Camaro6.com about this and people were having an issue with the rear not lowering after the install. This was remedied with loosening and then re-tightening the rear suspension bolts while the car was on the ground to properly clock the bushings.
Yeah. This installer is a hack... the brake line on the front looked like it was helping to hold the control arms and knuckle up. He didn’t torque a damn thing which I guarantee Gm has torque specs for everything down to the bolts for the speed sensors and brake lines. With these cars becoming actual cars that want to be on level with the Germans they should be worked and treated as such. And yes. Say good bye to your control arm or shock or spindle bushings if you are not willing to through the car on an alignment rack and properly torque the bolts for the control arms and shocks.
Hey Riley, I appreciate this how-to video from you and the guys at Phastek b/c the one on their website was not in depth enough for an average do it yourself guy.
Instead of damaging your rear parking brake cables you can just remove the camber bolt and shock bolt (watch the eibach install video). Also, the rear springs need to be installed in the direction where you can read the BMR logo. Then, everything needs to be torqued with the weight on wheels, not at full droop.
Like others have said, just pull the inner alignment bolt as the parking brake cable is in the way of the outer bolt. Need to mention all those bolts are TTY and need to be replaced with new. Read the manual for torque specs etc.
I leave my cars stock. I'm done with the modification bug. My car is perfect the way it left Bowling Green. The only thing I changed is the trunk and license plate lights to LED and added Stage 3 aero front splitter end caps and rear wickerbill (all factory GM parts). I'm done. See my car on my channel if you're interested. I like your build. Enjoy.
Cause there is a difference between and regular SS and 1LE! You might have a point if he was saying 50th anniversary edition or California edition cause there is no difference in that or the SS but style
I'm laughing at a few of these comments. Lo!! A yo GENIUSES! GM did "NOT" tune the 1LE's suspension for "Maximum" aggressive track driving. They tuned it with consideration for track performance, AND! street driving conditions.. There "IS" room to improve on the 1LE's already great handling, especially if you don't mind a stiffer ride quality, & a lower ride hight. I swear, some of you people embarrass yourselves with your ignorance. I'd like to see some of y'all go to a channel that has Aftermarket/modified suspension Porsche 991/996/911 GT3's, E92 M3's, M4's, Audi R8's, Shelby GT350's, etc.., & tell those guy 👉"hey! Those great handling cars where tuned perfectly from the factory..leave the suspension Stock" 👈HorseShit!
My son and I put these on his 2016 Camaro SS today and it took us 6 hours to do the driver’s side. We are not getting a 1 inch drop. Maybe 1/8th in the front and nothing in the back. How long does it take to see them settle? I’m thinking of calling BMR tomorrow to see why we don’t get an inch drop as advertised.
So a few years down the road now, what’s y’all’s consensus on these for say a bolt on street strip car? Tbh I’m not even really looking for an improvement in 60’, just trying not to hurt it. I guess there’s only one way to find out for myself but if anyone has any input it’s much appreciated.
Hey man quick question. Does the 1LE have the optional nose sound system, sunroof, and interior light spectrum kit? I like the 1LE but want it to have these features. Is it possible?
yes the noise if you change to track or sport goes louder, no sunroof its a track car, mine did not come with interior lighting but honestly if you really want interior lighting you can get the led light for the inside for a good price on most mod sites
Since these springs don't drop the car much it won't really effect anything. If I were to get 1.5" drop springs or something then that's where you can run into issues.
Man WTF I am trying to get my springs installed with a few other goodies like front/rear sway bars, upper & lower rear trailing arms and a rear upper controller arm from BMR. I am being told 8hrs to install and I just don't think that's right at all! I've gotten 2 estimates and they want $850 for the labor! Those might just be aggressive estimates but the install looks pretty simple and once you do one side front and rear the other side should be a snap. The other parts shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to install each arm and sway bar. I feel like I'm getting ripped off. I am going to use your video in my defense LOL
Even when you change the pads, you use something to hang the caliper so it doesn't hang on the brake line. Can you get away with it in your driveway when no one is looking and not damage anything, Sure you can but it's still not smart. You can't get away with it when you are working in a shop and filming a video with thousands of people watching. Especially after explaining why you are disconnecting wires.
I like the red coil. Brother this is a fine car, maybe even finer than your girl. But I would be nervous for the mechanics, competent or not, to even touch such sensitive areas being that it is a brand new car and not everyone knows all the components. I would be scared they might forget to properly screw a bolt or nut somewhere important and all of a sudden the entire car drops on the highway and you are screwed because of it. It just seems like the reward VS risk is not worth it. I would give it couple of years before doing that once enough people have experimented on their Camaro and horror stories ceased.
WHY? That suspension is specifically engineered for the springs it comes with. Making any modifications ruins the track suspension you already paid extra for.
Can anyone make a car video that doesn't begin with swoogy music? If you (the producer of the video) told me that type of music is what you listen to frequently, then I guess I understand. Do you um, really listen to that music? I have only heard it on car videos. Man I'm getting old. Ha ha.
Not everyone is willing to do this haha. This video will help some with the install process and help others decide they'd rather pay someone to do it for them!

RP said his guy checked it and that it was ok. So ya......
Yeah. This installer is a hack... the brake line on the front looked like it was helping to hold the control arms and knuckle up. just picked up my red-hot 1le yesterday. amazing. I will leave stock. can't justify changing such a perfect car.
Congrats on the car man!!
my red-hot
is that Hector from The Fast and the Furious?
One of the best videos you have put out in a long time! 👍👍👍
Hey Riley, I appreciate this how-to video from you and the guys at Phastek b/c the one on their website was not in depth enough for an average do it yourself guy.
Man your camaro is fucking dope, I thought dark SS was dope but you're giving him a run for his money

That work for me, doing it from the other side, braking line was a big issue
Like others have said, just pull the inner alignment bolt as the parking brake cable is in the way of the outer bolt. Need to mention all those bolts are TTY and need to be replaced with new. Read the manual for torque specs etc.
Definitely looks much better lower, not a huge drop but just enough to be noticeable
That's RP.! Now I know how to put coilovers on my car
I didint realize how close you live to me that's on Eldridge and 529 by the Burger King!
I leave my cars stock. I'm done with the modification bug. My car is perfect the way it left Bowling Green. Riley, you really need to get LED reverse lights!
Yep coming soon!!
Juan C. It already has one (I think).
I assume mag ride was ok with drop since I lowered my C7 and was fine. Are you getting it aligned?
Yea a very big MUST, I installed Hotchkis springs on my 5th gen 2 weeks ago...an it went straight to GM for alignment following Mon.
Yep got an alignment done the following day!
Who do you gotta say my "2017 camaro ss 1le" in every video
Xdzombiezz 12 yea I like the videos but that shit it getting old to me too .
Xdzombiezz 12 I was about to comment the same thing glad someone else did 😂😂 why can't he just say his car or his camaro
Cause there is a difference between and regular SS and 1LE! You might have a point if he was saying 50th anniversary edition or California edition cause there is no difference in that or the SS but style
Thank you
There are new people who don't know what type of car this is. Isn't that obvious?
I'm laughing at a few of these comments. Lo!! A yo GENIUSES! GM did "NOT" tune the 1LE's suspension for "Maximum" aggressive track driving. They tuned it with consideration for track performance, AND! street driving conditions..

Got to give it time to settle dog.
Great video bro well done.
Nice Install video Riley
love this vid RP!!
Looks great riley!!!
Looks great!
Kool, eibach is better with that 1.5 drop imho
why lower it I think it looks nice the way it is
But whose car is it? lol
shawn labrousse he can't have an opinion? Lmao.
local shops near me asking $900 for installation. Is it really that expensive to install this or no?
did you have to get any other suspension parts other than the springs? we able to get the alignment in check with just the springs?
where did you buy your 2017 camaro ss 1le? and is yours the 1ss or the 2ss package? Also, did you have to have it special ordered?
Just torque down to whatever? Should they be using a torque wrench and tightening to spec?
I notice you didnt do any preloading on the suspension during the install,is that ok?
Loving the Camaro! Keep it up!
Great Vid Riley!! :)

That red mustang gt at the end!
Car is coming along nicely! Miss the Scat pack yet though?
Should've went with coilovers. Lowering springs gonna fuck up your suspension yikes
Nah it's such a minimal difference they're not going to hurt anything. 1.5"+ drop springs is where you could run into issues.
RP Productions oh ok gotcha. Didn't know that.
RP Productions how have they held up
Buen video ricardo saludos
I'm a car newbie , what is the benefit of lowering springs?
Lower center of gravity which means better handling and less body roll, stiffer which means it's tighter in general and looks way better
Terrab Nadia and more expensive
Wouldn't this damage the shocks in the future. Always thought you need to change shocks with springs.
depends on how much you are changing the ride height.
Since these springs don't drop the car much it won't really effect anything. If I were to get 1.5" drop springs or something then that's where you can run into issues.
So how’s the suspension upgrade ?

Bro noooo, the front brake line 3:50
you definitely need a light for your video camera
No camber bolts needed?
If you have the right tools this is easy to be done at home
Would this fit my 2018 1LE?
I would have used the money for these parts on performance mods for the engine
do the spring rates match with the dampening?
Is there no torque specs for anything here?
Sorry man but I was wondering when you were gonna start not leaving well enough alone haha
Should have tightened up the control arms in the rear with the suspension compressed
after all that talk about disconnecting stuff so it doesnt put tension on the wires...dude just lets it hang on the brake line lmao
SixFoLBC Glad you saw that too. I was wondering why there was no comments on it.
He wasn't taking the caliper off with the line so no tension, as it would be putting new pads on or something similar!
Even when you change the pads, you use something to hang the caliper so it doesn't hang on the brake line. Can you get away with it in your driveway when no one is looking and not damage anything, Sure you can but it's still not smart. Wait I thought phastek isn't able to install thing for anyone ??
Mine spins when trying take the top part of the strut off. You just unbolt it. How is yours not spinning the strut
Did you ever figure it out? Because I just hit that dead end tonight
He damaged your parking brake cables. Make sure he buys you new ones.
How much is labor to swap springs

This trim level does not like to be lowered and should not be lowered.....
What size rim on car
15:23 asf 😂
Looks the same before and after lol
Something interesting on the left there at 5:03
Haha it was from their shop car. I'm not doing an exhaust as of now - just long tubes and cat delete.
doesn't look like much of a difference mehhh
All lowering springs take 2-3 days after install to settle to their final resting height!
So.... they're tuned for both track and drag racing hey..? My " full of shit" meter is pegging ....
nevermind

Costing me $700 everywhere
Everyone is going to know how to do this now, stealing the guys business mann
Not everyone is willing to do this haha. This video will help some with the install process and help others decide they'd rather pay someone to do it for them!
Simply Vortech this is probably a bitch if you haven't put on springs before which most people haven't therefore they would pay someone to do it
I like your videos and everything but I'm just tired of you posting basic stuff of you're Camaro
Gotta knock the basic stuff out first. Power mods are coming-just waiting for this semester to be finished.
booo you cheating on me 😖😂😖😂
Deez nuts
Who else came here because of the rediculous lemur snapchat😂😂
