    What you said about Ilyrians is true, most of the "Ilyrian genome" or old Balkan genome is present in all ex Yugoslavian states plus Bulgarians, in fact new genetical research that was done by people in all of ex Yu countries confirms that, in general, Croatians, Bosnians, Serbians, Montenegro, and Macedonias(slav macedonians not the old Macedon folk) all have a larger % of that genome then Albanians there is a anomalies here and there for example some parts of South Serbia have more then some part of North, again makes a lot of sense. If you know anything of how history and population merging works even the basics it is nothing weird, problem is Albanians learn a rly history that is more a "fan-fiction" then history, for last 20 years they are fabricating so much it is almost comical, most of ex Yugoslavian states do not agree on war in the 90s but most of the prior history is agreed on except some episodes of lets say "bad behavior" during WW2 especially in Croatia, but overall there is no a lot of friction there. However what Albanians are claiming is that everything ever built on Balkan is de facto their doing, all religious or cultural building are Albanian taken by South Slavs. Its weird that most of the world community is ignoring this because last time, nation fabricated history to show themselves like "pure and only real race in Europe" it turned into bloodiest conflict ever.

      @@wrecked8746 THere is a tribe from 100bc-100ad called Serbs, does that mean modern Serbians are descendants of that tribe? Nope, ethnic groups in history got a name often from region they inhabited, and names changed, and overlapped often especially in tribal society. Modern Albanians simply got that name because they lived in area that was for a very long time called Albania, same goes for modern Macedonians, Bulgarians. Modern Macedonians have small connection with ancient Macedon people, and Modern Bulgarians are mostly slavic while old Bulgarian people were not, that just means they simply got same names. Albanians are not descendants of Ilyrians that is stupid to claim, Ilyrians like all other old Balkan tribes mixed with population of invading or migrating ethnic groups, creating what we today know as Balkan ethic pallet. Same way Serbs can claim that they never left and always lived in territory of modern Serbia because there is a bunch of arecheological findings of populations from 7000 bc even. Connected with Vinca culture that is one of the oldest known "civilizations" in the world, does that mean Serbs are descendants of this people? Well if we use logic of Albanian "fanfiction writing" historians then yeah.

      @Tribalpotato 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      "Comparing language with somebody you claim is ancestor" Ok find me a living ancient illyrian and try to communicate with him. Plus there is literally 0 written documents that are surely illyrian, some documents/writings that are found resemble more ancient greek alphabet then then modern latin that Albanians write with, in fact some of the letters are highly like some cyrilic ones: Ж Х Ф Љ Њ. Plus there is no way anybody can know how old language sounded like, only one we can have some sense is old Latin and Greek because there is so much written stuff from Roman Empire, and modern Greek are assumed to speak something that resembles ancient Greek, but still linguists are not sure how it sounded. But Albanians somehow can speak ancient language because "its in their blood" shut a fuck up with that fan-fiction please.

      How did you find this Illyrian genome? Lmao how do these “studies” of yours show which particular gene is from the Illyrians? 🤣 tbh you’re digging your own hole. Fact of the matter is that the South Slavs today do not speak a language that is related any how to the Illyrians, same with their culture. A Serbo-croat speaker could literally understand or atleast get very near to understand what a Slovak, Russian or a Polish might be saying. I don’t doubt that some people do have indeed the DNA of those Illyrians as they mixed with them.
      But to claim you’re Illyrians now? That’s hilarious and absurd at the same time. Same with saying you’re somehow the direct descendants from them while having no similarity to them whatsoever.
      Please just stick to your own Slavic identities with your Slavic culture and language.

  • @Никола-ф8х
    @Никола-ф8х 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    You said Bosnians and Croatians have the most Illyrian heritage/genes, actually it is the complete opposite, people in Croatia and Bosnia (all 3 ethnicities there) have the least paleo-balkan admixture in their genetics and actually preserved the most original dna, I don't know exactly why this is the case but it is what it is). Out of south Slavs, Macedonians and people in Montenegro have the most paleo-balkanic genes actually.

    8:24 I agree Serbians have a lot of monuments in Kosovo. The thing he didn't tell you is that some lf these are from the time of Roman Byzantibe and Bulgarian occupation which was longer than the serbian one. Also with serbian rule from 1878 (in Sanjak of Nis and later 1912 in Kosovo) many old albanian monuments were destroyed. Also a major part is that muslim albanians who are a majority in Kosovo before 100 years they never put nothing more than a simple stone without a name at their cementeries. Like until recent times graves would be forgotten and those lands would become a place for goats sheeps etc to eat grass. This is a very stupid thing...until recently they didn't care. I have cousins in Serbia that forgot their grandpas grave and some.even of their parents (in mountainous villages if not careful vegetation covers the place with trees etc..)

Name one! If it was long ago, how do you know, name historicall source! Even Albenia, beside Kosovo, has numerous of Serbian (Slav) toponyms if you don't want to talk about monuments. I googled it myself yesterday. This is clear proof we lived there long before you and kind of proof anybody must recognized as valid. Anybody can googlemap Albania and see most of toponyms there are coming feom Serbian (slavic) language. They are just written in albanians alphabet today and slightly adjusted to albanian language. Any linguist that study any sloven lenguage can confirm it and tell you what it means in Sebian (or other sloven lenguage). Not so much what's widely available but some less explored topics like how Izetbegovic was chosen over Abdic (Fikret I believe had more popular votes); the role of the Army in dispersing the anti Milosevic protests in 1991 in Belgrade (Oric was Milosevic's bodyguard at this time) and how that led to the breakup of the country; the transition from viewing the national army as a source of pride for all ethnic groups to it being viewed as an instrument of Serbian nationalism; to what happened in Sarajevo in the early days of the war and immediately proceeding it; the role of the JNA & VRS in Bosnia; and why Macedonia escaped violence in gaining independence; and the role of the American ambassador in dissuading Izetbegovic to accept a Switzerland - like confederation in Bosnia after Alija previously agreed to do so.

    On the Kosovo matter Dino.
    Just because it has historical significance to a nation doesn’t give it right to automatically control it. Just because An ethnic groups nation never owned the land doesn’t make it right to deny them self-determination as the people who inhabit Kosovo today get to vote and have a voice on what happens and who rule them not some other people in another country.
    I get your own non-biased opinion on it and trying to stay as much neutral from it as possible. But I wanted to also point out a few things
    The Ottomans also had Kosovo for more than 500 years. Does that make it Ottoman now? Same goes for the other places in the Balkans.Just because Serbians build some churches there a long time ago Kosovo is all Serbian all of a sudden? Same goes with the Ottomans who build mosques etc. Why didn’t those Serbians stay in Kosovo that left in the last 500 years if Kosovo was their “Jerusalem”. Historical significance is important but how many people have come and left with empires etc.
    That does not go at the expense of modern day life and choices people have to make. Same goes for Kosovo. It doesn’t want to be a part of Serbia and that’s the end of it.

      This makes no sense. Kosovo was an area part of Serbia and those who live there are Serbian with maybe a different heritage. You need to assimilate. No ones denies your heritage but there is no reason to create your own country because you happen to be a majority in an area. There would be reasons for that.
      You can have many nationalities living in a country that makes it multicultural. But there is only one country.

    Kosovo has Serbo-Byzantine monuments, Bulgarian monuments, Islamic monuments of the Ottoman Period and also Vernacular architecture. It varies from different periods of time. It wasn’t easy building during the times of the Illyrians, therefore there’s less, and it’s hard to preserve things. One of the most important events in Albanian history, The League of Prizren started in obviously, Prizren, Kosovo. So for that guy to say we had no history there, he is completely wrong. Bulgaria, Turkey, and more can claim Kosovo as much as serbs can since they also have buildings there. Serbs bring up that there was a lot of serb buildings there, however, they don’t talk about why Kosovo went independent in the first place. They don’t even recognize what they did in Kosovo. They lack empathy, and traumatic events still fresh in many of my colleagues that were in the war today. Albanians will never trust being in a serbian state again. They don’t even recognize srebrenica either, which the Bosnian war was probably even worse than the Kosovo War, which further causes Albanians to think of serbs as a cruel peoples. Until they acknowledge both genocides, it will be a stalemate and another bloodbath when they reignite their expansionist policies just like the days of milosevic. If Albanians don’t want to be apart of serbia, what do serbs want to do to 1.9M albanians, and why do they still not recognize what they did in the Kosovo war? Lots of bad things are going to happen on both sides if they don’t accept reality.
    I don’t really care what people call my country, but all I know is that I have a government, a flag, laws, and i’m ready to defend on the land of which my mother gave me life.

    What they have missed to explain is why Albanians have black eagle on their flag and Serbian white one. When Roman empire split on Western and Eastern Roman empire, countries and tribes on West adopted black eagle while everyone on east adopted white eagle. That means that at that time Abanians were not in the Balkans because they lived in Italy. They have arrived there from nowdays Azerbaijan that used to be called Albania. Even today many places in Azerbaijan have Albanians names. They crossed Adriatic and conquered Serbs who lived there. For centuries Serbian empire included area of Albania and even Greece during tzar Dušan. Serbs are the only Balkan nation that has illiric customs as celebration of Slava and opanke. Nikola Tesla could not be Croatian because Croatia was not state at the time but it was Austria-Hungarian empire. His father was Serbian orthodox priest and mother was Serbian too. Kolo is danced by Serbs in Bosnia and Croatia but not by Croats or Bosnians. Originally is from area of Užice.

      The predecessors of the Albanians were Balkanic people or peoples, this is accepted by all.
      Impartial experts only argue about which one, or which ones.
      The predecessors of the Serbs on the other hand migrated to the Balkans from central Siberia between the 6th and 9th century, after the Roman Empire was shattered by the Huns and Germans, and there was nobody left to keep the Proto-Serbs out.
      Therefore as far as historical legitimacy in the region is concerned, it is Albanians who have by very far the stronger historical claim in the Balkans.
      This is simply because, while it cannot be said for certain which of the four Albanian ancestry hypothesis is the real one, what can be said with certainty is that Albanians are the descendants of Balkanic peoples and Serbs are the descendants of Asiatic peoples
