Phil, I am almost 99% positive that it was started in mattoon. The founders were from the Mattoon area, and that’s where it is headquartered today. I believe there may have been a few other variations and store owners at one point, so that may be the confusion.
I know that the office is in Mattoon, I used to work at the Terre Haute, IN location. I still think the company began in Paris, but I know they have grown tremendously. On a side note, I enjoy watching your videos, it’s nice to see videos from this area of Illinois.
It will definitely require some added labor, tire wear, and tractor time. One has to analyze the cost of those additions compared to the potential revenue of the venture. If it was 20 acres, it wouldn’t be worth the time. A few hundred acres does change the equation. Larger farms in the state may have a footprint of 150 miles, which is way more than 2 hours in a tractor.
Thanks, very educational. Watching from Central Illinois.
Really enjoyed the video. Looking forward to seeing the seeded prep and planters rolling.
I am excited as well, Marc. It won't be long!
Great video! Thanks for uploading every couple of days, love the videos!
Glad you enjoy it!
A little more north and you'll be getting near my neck of the woods.
You must live up in God's Country!
Get a rimrock box for your truck bed, it’ll be one of the best investments you make
I'll look into them. I was having a hard time filtering through all the different brands.
Andy, are you sure Rural King was started in Mattoon, I thought it was in Paris.

@@philscott6827 Thanks, Phil. I am glad that you enjoy them. It's nice to display Central Illinois to the TH-cam world!
Rtk like waas
RTK is more precise than WAAS, and it is also repeatable over time. WAAS can be very accurate in the right conditions, though! Thanks for watching.

Kinda surprised you are going with a farm 2 hours away. Seems like a huge hassle to move machines around.
