Sorin, I have to thank you twice. First for finally clear explanation of functions of semiconductors and circuit boards. I graduated from high school of electronics and learned nothing. Second BIGGER THANKS is for seeing you doing mistakes and posting it and seeing you that even you, MASTER of REPAIRS, is not always able to fix every fault. That gives me a joyce of skill pride.

That video made me laugh, thanks Sorin for entertaining us.
It would have been boring watching you change that cap so good that you replaced it off-camera. 😂

Dear Sorin: You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!. In the last months I have received laptops impossible to repair, due to a shorted CPU or bridge (I mean, Intel chips). Yesterday, I received 3 machines (1 Dell, 2 Asus...these were the exact model!), and the three had shorted CPUs or chipset. I think this is a shit from Intel (specially with the chips like the one in this video, the one with the metallic bracket around). Thanks for yor simpathy!.

Hello Sorin, good work keep it up. We have exactly same laptop working fine with ac adapter but battery is not charging showing 0% available (plugged in) replaced new battery no joy. Voltages on battery connector is pin 1,2,3 and 4 is 0.886, pin 5 is 3.3, pin 6 is 3.3 and pin 7 is 0.144. On the other hand have 3.3v, 5v and 12v are present - Any advice will be appreciate.

Hi Sorin, I have a similar Toshiba C50 on my channel, same fail on 5V rail and same capacitor - it must be "dodgy" as you say yourself.
There were visual signs of failure with the one I had so it was easier.

When I was watching this video somewhere at the middle of it, when you used the voltage injection method and I saw the voltage drop current draw relation a.k.a a low resistance value on the power supply I bet there is a shorted capacitor somewhere as you tought us in one of your videos and at the end of the vid you confirmed it...I remember you revealed your secret method of fault finding in one of you videos, I think this was the video
    th-cam.com/video/GfXx7OC_scQ/w-d-xo.html
If you understood that video you can understand and identify quickly this kind of fault too.
Thank you Sorin, you're a good teacher with lot of knowledge and a lot of background experience/practice...by the way sharing is carying :)
