    The Maverick 95-T I is definitely under appreciated. I don't see enough of these on the mountain. I have skied a lot of 88 to 95 all mountain skis over the less 3 seasons. I truly believe this is the most well rounded one I've been on. It really doesn't have a weak point. I skied 50 miles an hour plus on them and still crushed moguls and tree runs in Tahoe on the same day.
    I Even got them in the air a few times.
    I skied them in firm conditions and I didn't have any issues whatsoever.
    I think it's worth mentioning that although they have 2 sheets of metal, the metal sheets are pretty thin.. light and maneuverable, but also rip at high speeds.
    the edge held Just fine on a very firm morning groomer. As a New York skier,I know what firm conditions are. I did not have them on New York or Pennsylvania ice, but it was an extremely firm groomer. No problem.
    Float was very solid also. In 3 to 4" they were so much fun. I don't see why you couldn't ski 6 to 8" and have a great time. If you get more snow than that you might want something wider.
    I would also say this would probably be one of the only skis with 2 sheets of metal that I would possibly recommend to an intermediate skier . If you're an intermediate (all mountain skier) that is pretty strong physically, and is working on getting better at skiing, I think the Maverick is a great option with which you can progress.
    I've never been on the declivity, but this video is going to force me rent a pair for the day this season!

      @carterfan80 it really is one of the most well rounded skis out there right now, we agree. Be sure to tryout some Declivity's this winter, you won't be disappointed. Cheers!

      Is there a Declivity vs Ripstick black compression? I can’t decide between them. I want a good carving ski mainly but also want to have the occasional fun in the powder and bumps.

      How is the maverick skiing switch?

    • @carterfan80
      @carterfan80 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@henryhebron5319 I didn't try it. It doesn't have a lot of tail rocker. I don't think it's a good choice for that. So I guess that would be a weakness l o l.

      @@TheSkiMonsterI was able to get on a declivity ninety two in keystone. I really liked it and I did find it fairly similar to the maverick. I think the maverick was a little more stable. It also felt a little quicker believe it or not, Despite the added. stability.

    I can’t say enough good things about the Declivity 92s. This ski does it all. Have ridden it all season 25+ days and it’s still impresses me. I’ll admit, Im an intermediate-advance level skier. I love steeps, snow whales and chasing my kids, so I get to ski it all. This ski does it all.
    The last couple of of outings I have skied with people who have incredible carving technique, it’s made me focus on my own mechanics and form and surprisingly (or not), this ski loves those higher edge angles too. So while I was sold initially on this being a more “fun and flexible (approachable)” ski than say the Kendo or Enforcer, this ski rips hard if you want it.
    Oh and it’s Armada so it looks killer too!

      @darinsmith2458, both are sick skis. Mav is a little more fun off trail and Declivity is a bit more fun on trail. They will feel different enough from Stormrider and Enforcer as well.

    What about the Ripstick 96 Black Edition compared to these two skis??? I have the Black Edition but thinking about something with metal and I ski out West powder ski is a Rustler 11, Thoughts?

    • @TheSkiMonster
      @TheSkiMonster  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Elan Ripstick 96 Black edition is a staff favorite at The Ski Monster. Compared to the Armada Declivity 92 Ti and the Atomic Maverick 95 Ti, the Ripstick is lighter, softer and more playful and maneuverable. The Declivity and Maverick will edge out the Ripstick on hard snow and high speed performance, but Ripstick wins for overall versatility. If you are looking for something WITH metal in the mid 90's other than these, you should check out the all new 2024 Rustler 9, Nordica Enforcer 94 or the Fischer Ranger 96. 🤙🏼

    What do you guys think about the Declivity 88c?

    • @TheSkiMonster
      @TheSkiMonster  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @xargayo, Declivity 88c is a good ski, it’s light, lively and responsive. Compared to the Declivity 92ti, the 88c doesn’t feel as smooth or powerful. If you wanted a ski that’s easy and energetic at low speeds for cruising groomers or making quick turns go Declivity 88c. The 92ti is a more well rounded ski that feels more confident on a wider variety of terrain compared to the 88c. 92ti also carves a banger turn and holds up better on more firm terrain and over turbulent snow.

    How do they compare in the air and skiing switch?

    • @TheSkiMonster
      @TheSkiMonster  ปีที่แล้ว

      @henryhebron5319, Hitting jumps and riding switch are going to feel very similar on the Maverick and Declivity. It's more than doable on both skis, but just keep in mind that it's not what either ski is designed for. On jumps, they'll both feel stable, confident, and capable for straight airs, cliff drops, and casual trips through the jump line. However, once you start mixing spins, grabs, or any kind of tricks into the equation, you'll begin to notice the heavier swing weight and directional shape of both skis. The Maverick might have a slight edge because it feels less damp toward the ends of the ski, but the difference is very subtle when you’re in the air. Skiing switch is going to feel the same on either of these skis. On both skis, the directional shape and lack of kick-up in the tail will make it less comfortable than something with a more freestyle shape. That being said, neither the Declivity nor the Maverick's tails’ are completely flat, so they can be skied switch, especially if you're new to skiing switch and only plan on skiing switch at lower speeds for short distances. On the other hand, if you're already a super strong switch skier, you can ski anything switch. If catching air and skiing switch are just something you plan to mess around with on occasion, both of these skis will work just fine. If those are priorities, I'd steer you towards a ski with more of a freestyle personality, such as an ARV 94 or Bent 100.

      I owned a pair of Declivity 92 ti 2021 since last year and this skis are awesome. Im an intermediate-advance level skier. You won't regret your choice, it's excellent for carving and versatile in differents snow conditions. The main argument for me is high degree of damping and its capacity to held at high speed

    How will they compare with my Stance 90s?

    • @TheSkiMonster
      @TheSkiMonster  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Jayant W, Both of these skis will feel more precise and powerful. They are flat out better skis than the Stance 90. Declivity pipes turns and has real energy in and out of turns. Maverick is still a beast on groomers but in a wider width will offer a touch more versatility in off piste scenarios or softer snow. Both of these skis are less easily knocked around than a Stance 90.

    Is the maverick good for 6'4"& 200lbs?

    • @TheSkiMonster
      @TheSkiMonster  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @AlwaysYellFore, the Maverick is really good for 6’4” 200lbs. Many of our testers are similar to you and while you could be between the 180 & 188 you might think about the 188 if you are a good skier. Mav does a really good job of blurring lines because the feel light and nimble off trail while still feeling stable and powerful on the groomers.
