Good for you guys, you made it back to Pico. How long is the flight from Terceira to Pico? Fish is marvellous to eat fresh! That’s one thing I miss most about Portugal, going to the praça, mercado or feira to buy inexpensive healthy fresh tasting food. Island hopping is one of our interests we want to do! We are back to the island, love being surrounded by ocean. Our flight from Terceira to Pico took less than 25 minutes. Nothing like nature, fresh seafood & fish, marinelife, nature activities, culture, tradition, people; a few of the reasons we are here. Take good care Pedro.
I hope you guys get a chance to eat at Pitepe in São Roque. Family is darling that owns it and the food is so good!! Only opened seasonally so not sure when they will close. Also, adega do caisinho is a great spot for a drink and relaxing outdoors.
Was there this past summer & want to go back. Incredible place that is sooo very peaceful! What a life you both have - blessed to spend so much time there. Enjoy!
We arrived back to our new home on Flores just a few days ago after being away for 1yr. We flew to São Miguel first to deal with MEO/banking. We flew to Flores Saturday right before Tropical Storm Gaston. The winds were scary last night, we could barely sleep. But all is well this morning. Trying to figure out how to deal with the humidity in the home. We can only stay for 3 wks. So probably going to shop for a few more dehumidifiers & get them all running before we have to head back to the states. We have 1 that has run all yr while we were gone but it was not enough.
Great to hear you are back to the island. Flying during a storm can be a bit of a ride, pilots are experienced .I think humidifiers are the only thing to have while away. Obviously the more the house is insulated, the better. We are aways learning, will pass on any tips we come across. Cheers

(Could not find any info. on internet about this) We are from Southern California where it is hot & dry. So a lot to learn. Should we not leave bedding on beds when we leave or clothing behind? My husband left a leather belt...it started to mold!?!? The bedding was damp.
Your Relaxing vibes vlogs are always enjoyable to watch, would be nice to see how locals get their produce, do they have open farmers markets? Are there any local festivals etc? Maybe a day in the life of Carlos & Laura on pico island would be nice even daily rituals the simple pleasures of life are enjoyable. Look forward to more vlogs.

The men who were killed were not tourists, they were both local men -- both married with children living on the island. The reason why they were killed is because the foreign man who allegedly shot them "did not want neighbors". Obviously this man is a very violent and mentally unstable individual and is currently in police custody, and this is an extremely rare tragedy to happen on Pico.
