Thanks for this. I'm a green trail rider and needed some tips where to safely go. Got 'em. While weak for experienced people, there are green trails at Lake Manawa and even the side trail (horse trail) at the start of the Wabash trace. They are good for building confidence when first going off-road. Mandan park is totally cool - reasonably wide trails and lots of options. Next on my list is Walnut Creek (your video on that is excellent) and Tranquility.
The Wabash trace has a green blue trail that runs parallel to the main trail.. The trailheads are on both sides.. They call it the horse trail.. 5 miles of singletrack.. Some tough short climbs no jumps and lots of poison ivy
@@demoanddestroy been meaning to check those out. Lake Manawa and Chalco Hills have green trails too. It’s hit or miss on whether they are maintained because they aren’t THOR trails so I don’t include them.
@@TallGuyTrails Chalco hills isn’t bad there are lot of trails you just have to look for them. Even across 370 there are more trails. I don’t recommend lake Manawa. Homeless encampments
Swanson has a lot of climbing, somewhat rewarded if you can manage fast downhills. Also agree with the river side of Manawa having a green xc area. Not a fan of the big switchback climb at Tranquility, but it was necessary for erosion. I much preferred just getting on it and going straight up to get it over with :)
Thank you so much for this video! I tried to check AllTrails, but I really can’t get a feel for the trails, or find much most of the time on there. Definitely going to bring the bikes when we come up from now on!!!
@@TallGuyTrails I’ll try anything!! I ride a 2023 Roscoe 9, so I just take my time on everything! lol I also have a dirt jumper so I look for jump lines as well. Hardtails make for fun, but sometimes sketchy runs, but I take what I can get! I’m going to watch the Playlist and I’ll let ya know!! Thank you for the reply!
@@WetBananaMike Oxbow is probably the hardtail/DJ senders hotspot. The jump lines at Tranquility and Blair both look great for dirt jumpers, but I'd probably go to Tranq over Blair because of the drive.
Haven't ridden swanson in a few years, but there used to be a few man-made obstacles. They're kind of hidden towards the back. Might be worth some more exploring
For a while I was living near Swanson park and visited it several years in a row. Sadly, last time I went there the manmade features, which did in fact exist, were in severe disarray. I nearly asked THOR about doing a renovation for my Eagle Scout project, but that didn't happen for a number of reasons.
We actually already have a decent amount of medium/large features at 5 different trails that are pretty good stepping stones to the BIG stuff in other regions. Always could have more, but Omaha has come a long ways in the last couple years.
I referenced this and other videos before coming here. I've been severly disapointed in these trails. Most of the trails are so short you spend more time driving to these locations than riding (the laps are short so expect the same thing over and over again). The other thing that bothered me was your black trails are more like greens with some blue features and a drop. Calling this a Omaha sleeper hotspot is a stretch. Lastly, you should be mentioning the park fees while not exaggerating the drive time.
Did you give Lewis and Clark a shot? That one is best for sessions as every fun line has shortcuts for lapping them. I put in 10-15 miles of sessioning every ride. Also, Platte River is the only trail that requires a pass. What are you used to?
@@omahamtb6580 Agreed, L&C is free and about 15 minutes from downtown. It has expert-level free-ride features that seem to challenge even the YT guys from Colorado, although it lacks the well put-together consideration of modern flow trails in Bentonville. I've been riding the milder trails in Omaha for years and there is plenty at L&C that will probably always be above my skill.
@@TallGuyTrails Asheville, but i also spent a few months in UT, CO, ID, WY. I lowered my expectations and understood I would be riding hills. It's a shame really because there could be a lot of potential around here. Yes, I tried lewis and clarke a few times since it is the nearest one and it wasnt bad, just short... maybe condense is a better word? Not sure, but it felt like an appetizer.
@@smog24 understand your perspective. We don't have continuous connected mtb trails around here. I go for walks in jewel park all the time with my wife. Truly beautiful when the spring wildflowers are coming in

@@jasonmock848 for the most part, anything jump related at Swanson is gone. Still a super fun rooty XC trail.

Yeah, the challenge of dirt jumps is someone has to maintain them consistently or they melt away. Still a great trail.
