From 2:00-2:30 Zhu is trying to add substance while HMW tries to add "economy entrepreneur jokes" which "is all I have to offer". I have nothing against him as a person but he is just a bad commentator. Back in the day when it was just "happy feet, wombo combo" and then screaming into the mic, it was hype, but the community is gigantic now and any kind of professionalism to engage top players and new players is important imo. It's like saying Ken should be guaranteed a spot in top 64 because he had legendary status back in the day. The community should be thankful but at this point we are giving hand outs to HMW.

The appeal is... Movement feels a lot more free, decades of tech to sink your teeth into, combos are longer with less knock back, defensive options are plentiful, gameplay is faster, have to press more buttons which feels good, characters don't have hidden mechanics/resource bar/item menu. I play both games, but that's the appeal of melee for me
