Very inspiring, I am 61 yrs old, former pastor, elementary school teacher and entrepreneur with so many side hustles both good and bad. I needed to hear your inspirational story. I think I could help these “whipper snappers”. Ok that is an old idiom😂

That is awesome. If you decide to go for it please let me know. I would love to know how it goes.

OMG Jay, I've just started a TH-cam channel @38 how to make concrete candles, candle making, etc. It's difficult getting subscribers, but I have achieved over 70 subscribers and hundreds and hundreds of views within the last 6 days, uploading a few videos. I can't believe you're doing this video. I appreciate it. Any advice and tips getting my subscribers up apart from the generic advice. Thanks in advance 😊

That's amazing. Congrats. It's not easy at first but here is a tip that most beginners don't follow. Cut out the BS. Get right to it. Cut the ums and uhs out and try your best to explain what you are doing even quicker than you think. Also, something I stopped doing pretty early in my journey is I don't ask people to subscribe. A person who subscribes on their own is much more valuable to me. If I ask someone to do it, aside from maybe inside of a video, I am getting a hollow subscriber. That person isn't someone who wants to truly support me. Hopefully that all makes sense.

@upvibecandle That is sound advise Jay thank you so so much! I didn't realise how difficult it is explaining things with out over thinking . Causing the umms and uhs, but I'm working on it. I will stop begging for subscribers and do it authentically. Thank you again its truly appreciated!

I started my TH-cam back in February, and I've been struggling...anxiety makes me stumble and bumble my words, trying to think of content to create every week, filming, editing, trying to figure out algorithm and analytics, along side trying to run my small handmade business...all of it made me start to feel that not only do I not have the time to make good quality videos but also I'm just not personable enough to be "TH-cam successful"

In that case either write a detailed outline or a script. I don't just get in front of the camera and spew out words. I put a lot of prep into it and rehearse before each session. In addition, if you get 1% better with each video you do imagine how good you will be after 10 or 20. You feeling like you have no personality is just your mind playing tricks on you. Again you need to practice. It doesn't happen over night. It's weird. Talking to an inanimate object is like going to a restaurant by yourself. If feels off but if you do it again and again it becomes second nature.

I have been obsessed with your channel since I discovered it just a few days ago. What draws me in is your authentic humor and extensive knowledge. You explain things so thoroughly yet clearly it’s refreshing. Another thing I love is your willingness to drop knowledge and show the good and bad. Your ok in my book my brother 💯 Much continued success and prosperity to you and your family ❤
I might stop being a scary cat and finally start my channel 😂

That is such a lovely comment. I am truly humbled by your words. Thanks for making my day. As for starting a new channel, I tell my daughter all the time. Feel the fear but do it anyway. You got this!!!

This was very informative & and uplifting video. Thank you for doing this one. I am 57 a retired truck driver I can’t do the job I did cause of so many injuries working sanitation in NY & NJ as a women I loved what I did I enjoyed the people when I was younger I did catering waitress so I was always around the public. So with that when I did catering I enjoyed the creativity of making a beautiful platter never thought later in life I would enjoy the diversity of crafting.
Throughout the years I’ve learned so much from folks like yourself on TH-cam now enjoying watching folks from all over the world in the artistry of there crafts it blows the mind of all the beauty. Unlike yourself I have not had the luxury of traveling but I drive a lot so road trips are just as exciting here. Sorry for being so long winded I thank you again for this video.

@@upvibecandle I do have a channel the video part is my difficulty cause of making sure no music even from my iPhone it gives me a copyright mark so I take it out. I’m enjoying so many other things besides candle even though I love making candles. I just recently started making trays as my canvas out of cement, jesmonite , gypsum just to see how everything reacts. I love testing the boundaries of different materials. I also love watching you cause your humor is way too funny 😂 I hope you do more inspiration videos at least once a month. It does help. I wanted to do some along with creativity to show people how to utilize your time in a positive way I also have been sober for over 25 years and I want to encourage people anything is possible with time & patience 😊
