    Many people here in the US think of the Bee Gees as "that Saturday Night Fever" disco band but they don't realize that the Bee Gees had 3 platinum albums to their credit way before the late 70s. The most versatile group ever.

    This is the second song I have heard of Robin at this age. Robin’s baritone was a shocker the first time I heard it. Maybe Robin thought singing deep voice would make him seem older.

    And to think that Robin was only around 16 when this song was recorded!
    Thank you so much for featuring Robin this weekend. I think he would be honored that 10 years after his passing so many people are still finding and falling in love with the music he and his brothers created.

    Wow, Chad, "Monday's Rain"! Yes, I think you had that same reaction to "Somewhere" if I'm not mistaken. His voice circa 1965 was deeper as his voice changed around that time. Just love his voice from very young child to teenager to that perfect man he grew up to be! What a treasure God shared with us for 62 years and then called our precious angel back to Him 10 very long years ago. Thank you, Chad, for this wonderful remembrance of this truly amazing man! Continue to RIP sweet angel. 😇

    Yes Robin's voice transition, he had that deep sound he sang Out of time a Rolling Stone song cover in which he had the deeper voice Mick Jagger said Robin sounded better than anyone he had heard on that song. Love the Bee Gees they are the greatest!! Thanks Chad!!

    I can hear monday's rain outside now in my part of the UK. 5am just getting up and listening to Robin's amazing voice. What a start to the week. This song is great. I also love their early years but haven't heard many of the songs from the Spicks & Specks album. Robin giving us just a hint of how great his voice was becoming. Also noticed just how gorgeously yummy Maurice was growing up to be mmmmm! 🥰 Thanks for honouring Robin this weekend Chad. I actually feel quite uplifted and not as sad as I was at the start of the marathon. Xxx

    Loved your shocked reaction at the start. SURPRISE!
    Thank you for the tribute to the inimitable Robin Hugh Gibb!
    Have a great week.

    I love your reaction to Robin's voice at the very beginning of this song so much! It definitely is different from the way he sounds in most other songs, isn't it? I love it though! And, yes. It is supposed to rain where I live tomorrow, actually! This was a great weekend of honoring Robin! I look forward to next weekend's marathon! P.S. I love your jacket! I'm a huge for KING & COUNTRY fan! They were my most favorite artist until, after discovering the Bee Gees in, I think, 2019, I fell in love with the Bee Gees last year! Now, they're a close second favorite!

    That's Robin alright. He could sing with a deep voice. He doe the same in 'When do I' from their 'Trafalgar' album. In that song he goes from light and airy to a deep voice. I think it's brilliantly done.
    I have a new request for you to consider:
    'Promise the earth' witch was a bonus track from the 'This is where I came in' album.

Robin, nunca te olvidaremos. Siempre con nosotros. El 20 de mayo, se cumplió 10 años de su fallecimiento. Esta canción que acabamos de escuchar, es todo un homenaje. Siempre Robin Gibb.

    Oh yes! I enjoyed this weekend as much as the last one with all the funny moments, thank you Chad you are the best!!!
    I saw your expression since the very beginning, just curious, you were not that impressed with 'Somewhere' recorded by the same time, and also solid gold, I love both, and you are right, Rob especially was finding out how far he could go with his new manly voice, that was one of the reasons for recording 'Somewhere' just checking what he could do, and boy, he did it perfectly.

      @susieq9801 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@juanita6479 - Jagger really liked his version of "Out of time". They got a lot of respect from established artists considering they were about ten years younger. Even Elton John did a cover of "August/October". He had to vibrate his throat with his hand to get a vibrato sound.

    • @juanita6479
      @juanita6479 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@susieq9801 Also Paul McCartney, when Epstein made them listened a tape from the boys, was impressed that they wrote their own music at their young age. Remember also Carole King said the cover of the boys from her song was better than hers. All those are big words, coming from great characters. The million dollar question is, why, after all those compliments, achievements, gifts sent from heaven, many people have never respected them as they really deserved. 😒

    • @susieq9801
      @susieq9801 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@juanita6479 - I know. I never understood that. Imagine if their great songs in the 80's and 90's and even some earlier songs were actually HEARD by the public, they would have surpassed the record number of hits of EVERYONE. Look what they accomplished even being snubbed so often, "The Enigma with the Stigma". So sad the twins aren't around to enjoy this resurgence. Even now though it seems many think it uncool to like them. If any compensation, many great artists, musicians and painters for example, were never respected in their own time, people like Van Gogh!
