      @@joyboxcustomprint Thanks its great, will try it... the only problem i has, is when attaching the material on the front. If you attach it the other way round, (at least for me) it works better.

    Definitely a cool idea! But you'd need a couple of these laying about with multiple rolls waiting to be processed - especially if you use the take-up a lot. My solution is this - -Once a month or so I take some scrap vinyl and rough-cut them into about 60mm x 30mm sections. I'll cut a good couple of dozen, perhaps close on a 100 pieces. I leave these in a small cavity by the take-up so it's easy to grab and not tempting to use for other jobs.
    In terms of centering prints onto the take-up I roll I simply cut the media into a V shape, with the bottom of the V close enough to the centre of the core. That way it self-centers and you don't have one side tighter than the other side. It also eliminates page curl on the ends of the media.
    Your clamps idea is perfect for hard to stick media like some textiles, so thanks for the tip.

    Great hack. Any Tips to prevent dust attracting to vinyl as its being printed?

      Thanks, I've never had that issue but it will be due to static build up on the vinyl. Try standing on a rubber matt when you are handling the vinyl and see if that helps. I believe you can also get anti-static bracelets which may help.

    Nice Tip. I noticed you do your crop marks facing out, I usually use the corner in crop marks? is there a reason why you do yours that way?

      The reason I use them as such is because that is how my installation tech did it when installing my printer and was going through RL6+ with me. I've never tried the other options as these work great for me. My print/cut alignment is excellent. I do change the crop mark measurements to 20mm length / 2mm thickness and the results are great even after the vinyl has been removed from the printer for laminating. 👍

      wy you use the corner ones if you think it takes less space no the corner ones will take just as much space as the ones used in the video(i am mimaki technissian)

  • @8alakai8

    this could give problem with the print not going strait on the take up and wy tape would be on your print you dont put the tape on the print

    • @joyboxcustomprint
      @joyboxcustomprint  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've used this method dozens of times, the print goes on straight every time. No problem taping the print either, I don't print right to the edge of the vinyl.
