My ancestors were born in these parts back when it was still commonly known as King's County, before migrating to the Great Southern Land just over 170 years ago. Wish I knew more about them.

What a great way to start my day...though we need to work on your whiskey poker face! You should embrace the burn. haha Thanks for the laughs and smiles!

yeahhhhh about that! I drink Jameson! I normally enjoy whiskey.....That was my first time having Tullamore Dew and it definitely tastes different than Jameson! Thanks for commenting Murph!

Heading there in less than a month. Thank you for this video. My Quinn ancestors are from Offlay, but I don't know from where exactly - wish I did. I can't wait to explore their homeland. PS loved the music!

thanks so much for watching! Offaly is so wonderful and there's so many things to do and places to explore! I've barely skimmed the surface! Make sure to check out Clonmacnoise - a personal favorite of mine!

Thanks for the video. My direct ancestors were from Birr (Parsonstown) in County Offaly before they immigrated to Canada in the 1840's. Great to be able to see some of what they saw. Would love to visit one day

Another great video! Thanks Kate and beautiful music too. Loved the history of the park. I want to show my parents this one. What was the stuff they dug up called, I know my dad will ask me. 😊

I can't live in Ireland. I noticed it rains there a lot. I'd be depressed. I'm in love with that country tho..😔

Kate, when he was talking about what they dug up to burn for electricity, was he saying it happened for 8 or 80 years? I couldn’t quite tell which he meant.

As an Irishman, I LOVE that we are burning our heritage to power our iPhones. Burn Offaly's peat and give me volts and amps. I need those mA to charge my tablet and smartphone.. how the f~ck else am I gonna watch funny cat videos at 1am? huh? keep burning our heritage guys, years worth of peat in the ground and years worth of funny cat videos to be enjoyed.... f#ck yeah!!
