But b4 the accident everyone just assumed "well it must be safe because it's open" You would have had no idea it was a death trap b4 the accident, it's not like crazy big rides kill people with any regularly. Riding an amusement attraction is one of the safest things you can do. You are more likely to be killed in a car crash driving to the park than being killed by one of it's rides.

    I remember taking a business law class a long time ago. I remember the lawyer teaching us. He said it does not matter if you sign a waiver or there is a sign saying dangerous, ride at your own risk, if you can prove there was a problem, and they knew about it, and did not fix it, then they are at fault. Like going to a baseball game, if you get hurt by a baseball hitting you, that is a known risk. You get hurt by sitting on the bleachers and they fall apart because it wasn't maintained properly, the owners are at fault because its not a known risk. I'm not a lawyer and I could be wrong, because laws can be different in different areas and they can change over time.

      It is normal for a rollercoaster that your effective "gravity" is so reduced at the top a hump, that you FEEL like you might leave your seat. In fact, rollercoasters generally do not want the rider to actually be pushed up against the harness (zero or negative g) because the number of people who would vomit would be offputting.
      Whether that has anything to do with what this person reported is hard to say.

    “Decapitated”. I don’t think they are referring to the head coming off like you see in films. Medically speaking a decapitation is when the atlanto occipital joint is severed. Essentially the skull is disconnected from the spine but does not mean the surrounding skin and soft tissue were also torn completely allowing the head to detach.

    Any engineer with half a brain could have told you that this water slide was going to be a death trap one day. A vehicle that is not held and lead by rails going down a ramp with a bump in between where it relies solely on gravity and working breaks to stay inside the slide accompanied by an overhead net that is supposed to keep people from falling out. Just need one occasion where the breaks don't work properly before reaching that bump to make the vehicle lift off and start grating the passengers heads on that "safety net". They should have at least made sure that even without working breaks, that thing would not be able reach enough speed to lift off on the bumpy part off the water slide.

    My dad rode that ride and one of his straps came undone. When he reported it to the lifeguard at the bottom, the life guard laughed and did nothing which ticked him off.

      No, the lifeguards job is to save lives, so he should have reported it to his boss and take the raft out of the slide to further check the strap and send it to repair.

      daniel wiles dude you realize your brushing off and insulting something that took the life of a innocent 9 year old? Or are you too much of a brainless rat to understand, this is a serious thing. It's pretty easy as a life guard to report that a HR rep, or manager. You're a sad, ignorant, and selfish person.

    This ride should never have been made

    • @DoctorBeer2044
      @DoctorBeer2044 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It needed to be made correctly. The second hump should have been way bigger to take the momentum of the raft away. It was way too short and they knew it. They didn't want to pay the costs to redesign and retest a new prototype

    I speak for myself when I say I wouldn't let my children go on any extreme ride like that so young. I'm terrified of heights and just couldn't allow myself to risk them falling or in this case death😭😭 my heart goes out to the family 💔
