That paint job is awesome!! I'm so jealous that these kids get to be on a highschool mountain bike team! I would have loved that when I was a kid. Hooray to you for saving his bike. May your hands continually be blessed to do good deeds.
@@nascarisawesome5018 Getting "better" drivetrains is a trap for a commuter. You're not gonna get there faster and tolerances are lower, as well as new parts are much more expensive. I'd rather pay 10 bucks for a new chain than 40+.
Thank you for helping this young boy with the repair of his damaged bike, and he was so thrilled with the finished result. A very nice video. Take care 👍 Au
Rad build and awesome story. I would have been pissed if my bike came back chrome though! But, that is definitely just personal preference 🤣 good job though man, keep up the good stuff 🙂
have seen a lot of restos but that was over the top in all aspects even learned a couple things from you finaly a craftsman worth his salt hats off to you doggie
Something about the RedBull theme sort of made me expect Xzibit to jump out of hiding somewhere and tell the kid his ride has been pimped. 😂 Really beautiful work.
Love what you’re doing ❤ I have a bike also but a classic unknown brand(frameset) with shimano acera components & I’m enjoying it but watching the salsa in the other video & how you build it..oh boy 😮 if only I can have it(desperately)to ride and be proud….keep it up sir…watching all your videos backward….new subscriber here in Philippines ❤
For a bike sliding down the freeway at 70mph the damage could have been way worse I just bought the Rockhopper 29er and I am loving it cool too see the story of someone with the same bike Great video.
Got a full suspension I'm going put some money in to can't wait ,triple black , matt ,satin and gloss and a high light colour ,should be an interesting project
you can tell he was either getting tired or excited by the end of the build, he was fighting the RD while installing the chain but he used the cage lock earlier in the vid
Adding the RB log to the handlebar was a great idea but you should have get rid of all letters. Beside of that minor critique a solid build and having some sort of a program to give bikes to kids who couldnt afford one is nothing but awesome.
what is this paint color called ? it look good, i think about painting mine like this. do you need to apply base coat or a primer and a clear coat after ? or maybe powder coating is to good to need this ? thanks
most nica kids buy with the intent on thrashing. I’ve seen some of my teammates snap frames just because we’re all reckless xc kids who take it too far out of our comfort zone when we finally get a good downhill just because we never get them. (Unless you’re a Moab, corner canyon, or park city rider but most of them do outlaw instead.)
Love your channel, Really wish you had done raw aluminum and masked off the decals instead of doing your double coat method. There are a lot of interesting was to finish raw aluminum that is way more durable than paint
Don't forget to tell the kid that Red Bull is an adult drink that can be armfull to children. In my country, a lot of kids fall into the marketing of energy drinks and drink two or more cans a day. They have sleep problems, weight problems, and they don't perform well at school. Nice build!
whats with everyone reprinting stickers? I mean I would prefer very clean frame no stickers, no letter, just color / colors with some graphic or shades but no stickers / letters
Dont you dare oust microshift by calling it sub par. It's in no way sub par. The fact that it's still on the bike and what looks untouched is a testament to micro shift advents 9 spd. As it states in the website it's basically bombproof. Also I run it, and I can say that it is true!

Smoked red on front going into ultra dark blue to the back, with black Specialized - would look sick.
I'm jealous to race against him 😒
Dont call my beloved Advent sub par man! it is an awesome humble drivetrain, basically indestructible.pfeeee
I run it on my commuter and I love it.! I work at a bike shop and could get a lot better, but still love my microshift.

I run it on my bike, clutch isn't that good but shifts really nice.
Love microshift!
there it is someone who really enjoys and care for bikes, not only his bike, but for bikes. Amazing job!

Good on you man. It's really heartwarming to see videos like this.
Awesome job!!! God bless you for what you do 🙏🙏🙏
Looks amazing, and a great story behind it too. Hope he loves it!

another great rebuild. good work man

Awesome effort and great finish. Worth a subscribe 🤙

Well done. Great job.
Good job! Lets goo! Have a nice day! :)
Quality work
Awesomeness, keep up the good work

Very tired. :)
You do such good work, it's awesome to see
Great job!
Oh Man, next time try some wd-40 haha, these pedals were tight. Great job!

What powder did you use for the silver/chrome???
1:54 accurate.

or maybe powder coating is to good to need this ?
thanks
Love what you do. Where can I get the tool you used to set the low limit screw on the rear derailleur?
Those ship with all SRAM derailleurs. Bike shops always have tons of them and I'll be they would give you one.
Thanks. I'l stop and see my shop.@@BuildaBetterBike
I like the truecrime-esque intro. Gripping.
Thanks
In the beginning he says 2021 spezialized ? Looks much older or was it just so abused?

South Utah I-15 is no joke. People literally haul ass. 90 mph average speeds, including by semis. Scary
genuinly curious on the long valve stems? is there a purpose or reason for its length?
It's what I had on hand.
there's nothing subpar about Microshift Advent.

Is there a benefit to placing the shifter to the right of the brake on the handlebar?
Nope. :)
🔟🔟🔟🤠✌️
That bike got lucky when it fell off the freeway.
😅Still riding a 1999 Marin 😅 MARIN USA 4 LIFE 🇺🇸🤠🙏
What seatpost is that?

I'll let his mom worry about that
Rubber mallets exist
Build a better bike: i am the mallet
Longer travel fork just ruined the geo of that bike lol
Geo of these bikes was already bad. Nothing here made it better or worse
Nice job ....but can someone introduce this guy to penetrating oil.
We're not that kind of channel. ;)
Calling 9 speed sub par... Are people really so blindedby the advertisement in the bike industry?
That’s my friends bike

Too new to "restore"
Congratulations for completely missing the point
Mal trabajo de pintura y las letras quedaron horribles. Te quedó muy mal.
Frankly this is a waste of time and effort. Frame isn't even boosted. You could get decent 2nd hand frame that's boosted and build decent modern bike
Thanks for your opinion Martin. I use what I have to work with.
Mtb has been thriving for decades without boost frames, people always fell to corporations new marketing jargons.
@@Benri05 boost frame and wheels are definitely better and more reliable
first time seeing chrome powder coating, I wish someone do this in my area🥲
