    German here. I too despise the winter. The best thing you can do is keeping yourself busy, maybe do some overtime at work...
    The only good thing about winter is that it makes the spring, summer and early autumn much more enjoyable in comparison.
    Greetings

    Is it just me or does anybody else also thinks that sunset at 11 pm is way crazier than at 4:30 pm?

    I wish you could have made this video in 2014 when I went to Belgium for my masters. Unfortunately the same winter depression affected me badly and my studies. I had no option but to return back to India. Thank you for spreading the awareness.

    oh my god, last winter in germany i was insanely depressed. I woke up feeling like death. like a total slug. and my chest was super tight, like a fat man was sitting on my chest. But its not just the lack of sunlight, its the german culture ON TOP OF the lack of sunlight. Winters in Canada...I'm totally fine. Winters in Netherlands...totally fine. Its only the winters combined with that German harshness that does to me and I go apeshit. Germany is depressing as hell for me. Its somewhat bearable in spring and summer, but come winter... your in for it big time.

      @@Hlze369 I got hit hard with depression living in Canada. I'm from new Orleans originally. One guy on youtube said that living in Canada or any northern cold climate will give you depression if you eat a diet high in carbs/sugar. Anyway I'm packing for Florida. Give me Key West or Sarasota any day over cold, rude Toronto!

    Thanks for the video! I'm from Israel so I have a warm weather all the year round, something I've noticed is my windows are open all the year because of the good weather. Now in Europe another winter problem beside what you have talked about is the closed windows.. Maybe people in Europe are so used to it but it is bad, the co2 levels always higher in closed rooms and the mood and mental ability are dropping.

    • @boelena5656
      @boelena5656 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Actually Germany has a big culture around "lüften" - opening the windows wide for 10 minutes at least, even when it's below freezing outside, to exchange the air multiple times a day. I heard other countries don't tho.
      A valid measurement for how good an apartment is in Germany is how many windows it has that are facing different directions, for the sole purpose of being able to open them at the same time and create strong wind to go through the whole place.
      So yeah, most Germans will be on your side that regularly getting fresh air in is suuuuper important :)

    Hi, many thanks for the time and effort you put in for these videos. I am from India. Currently learning German (now in A2 level). As I know, you have a good command over German language, why don't you incorporate German subtitles at least for some of your videos. German subtitles help a new learner to build up a nice vocabulary and viewers also can benefit from the usage of Grammar especially verb conjugations / prepositions / adjectives etc. This could possibly increase your viewership from other countries as well.
