Had a pair just like them, except from the brand, many years ago. Quite fun to revisit an old memory and a really good job making them look like new with a twist 🙂
Is that WD-40/lubricant spray used to clean the electronics with? Isopropyl alcohol is better to use for cleaning electronics as it is safe to use on circuit boards since it evaporates and doesn't leave residue. If you don't have a UV lamp for retrobrighting yellowed plastics, you can put outside in the sun with peroxide, it just takes a lot longer than using a UV lamp. However I do appreciate you keeping these out of the trash and giving them a new life. If you want to learn more about retrobrighting, Odd Tinkering has an informative video about it on TH-cam. I think it's on his Odd Experiments channel.
This was... pretty poor honestly. You should not have painted them only to have a section exposed to save the text. You should have used hydrogen peroxide with a UV lamp to remove the yellowing effect. And the masked off section just looks bad.
Not bad! You might try the retrobrite method next time. If you have it available, Hydrogen peroxide and UV light will bring the yellowed plastic back to its original color.

Very nice restoration, except from around the logo, it's still yellowed :-/

You could have bleached the cases with peroxide and a UV light. They would have looked like new.
Me and my family used to have those on our old pc one. Back in the late 1990'S

why you did not use H2O2 instead of staining?
This requires brains, which the author does not have!
@@alekshovkun306 maybe he doesn't know?
@@alekshovkun306 ...wow. Is everyone just automatically supposed to know everything about everything? What an ignorant response.

Sorry, you tried but this is not a restoration. High school student labour lesson level....
Mandou spray ⁉️👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Deveria usar peróxido de hidrogênio para clarear os plásticos novamente. Não gostei. 👎🏻 Deslike
