OK AS AN AUTISTIC INDIVIDUAL! it was the creators who actually took the most care of me, i spent the majority of the time on the second floor, sitting on the ground by LPS Emilys booth. it was a nightmare on the first floor and if i didn’t pay more money for VIP Passes i would have went home early, my neurotypical sister went down and bought alot of LPS while i was sitting on the floor doing nothing most of the con bc ik of i stayed down there longer then 10 mins i would have had a breakdown. IM SO UPSET ON HOW THEY TREATED All of the ambassadors! Everyone was so excited to meet them so they were consently crowed by people non stop, while sitting by emily’s booth she was talking about overwhelmed she felt by everything. other people where saying the same thing. you guys should have had more security or something like a break room! there was a watering fountain next to the bathrooms on the second floor, but it was a wierd shape so you couldn’t really refill your water bottles, so yeah. i did all of my trading one the floor i didn’t use the tables once bc of the noise, i feel feel so bad bc i was basically screaming at all the vendors💀 and ik if i wasn’t privileged enough to have enough money to buy the content creator pass i wouldn’t have gone, i got food at the end of the day while the raffle winners were being announced, again, my neotropical sister stay inside waiting for the raffle results while I waited outside for food. The food truck actually had to close down and then reopen multiple times throughout the day because of how many people there was and how understaffed they were. it was miserable in the heat. and being a fairly young woman in Vegas, I was super paranoid, sitting outside alone by myself. I know The is super safe and there was security. but from how many adult people were sitting by themselves outside, I started to get a little anxious. so I didn’t feel safe. I didn’t feel seen and I don’t feel like I was accommodated as a basic human and also as an neurodivergent person. it was my very first LPS Con so I was just super excited and in the moment I looked past a lot of the things. But it definitely was not a good experience and I will not be attending next year unless they make some drastic changes. That’s my personal experience though. I’m so happy if you did have a good time at the convention.💖✨💅🏽🙈
I actually had broken down at lpscon, it was too overwhelming for me and I really wanted to leave but didn't want to waste this opportunity, I'm so glad my sisters and mom went with me, they helped me cool down on the second floor before I went back down with my sister and enjoyed the rest of the convention saying hi and shopping. I'm so sorry that you felt that way at the convention. It was not a good experience for me, either. I really hope they will change in the future. It would have been an amazing experience, and I do hope it was for many people, but unless they do change I also won't be attending next year's convention.
@@BreezyProductionsLPSI really get what you mean about not wanting to waste the opportunity. I felt the same way. There was a lot of pressure to just enjoy it as much as I could because it only lasted a day and I knew I wasn’t going to get the opportunity to go again, but it was hard sometimes to enjoy it because it was so crowded, hot, and there was so much going on.
My heart goes out to anyone who had a bad experience due to the lack of preparation from the staff. I didn't get the chance to go, but I really hope we can get through this as a community and things can be done better in the future. Thank you for the video, Cobalt. ♡♡
that’s really disappointing to hear. LPS Con definitely needs to improve for the years to come. i hope everyone there had a decent time despite all the chaos! ❤
I’m so sad we missed each other at this year’s event! 😭😭 Us VIPs were occupied on the 2nd & 3rd floor running our 4 workshop sessions and the Meet N Greet back to back, that we didn’t have that much time or energy left to just hang out with you or our other friends afterward (let alone navigate the crowded space). You are the absolute SWEETEST and it meant a lot that you wanted to check in and say “hi” 👋 🥹 Likewise, I was concerned about you and the attendees’ well-being on the ground floor after seeing the HUGE crowd after vs before the workshops started. There definitely was A LOT happening the moment I set foot on the first floor - I’ll go into more details about what happened in my own video coming soon. Hope we can meet again sometime soon (with more quality time to hang out, ofc!) and that future meetups/events like these will be handled with better care for our community 💜💜
Getting back into occasionally buying LPS / casually watching LPS content creators after like 10 years right before LPSCon 2024 / the bombarding of controversy on top of all the mixed talk about G7 has been an interesting ride for sure 😭🤍
I will NEVER go to LPS Con unless changes are made [including having different people in control of LPS Con instead of the current team] and I feel bad for people who got sick from the heat, had panic attacks [as someone on the spectrum I relate], had stuff stolen from them, and were negatively affected in general.
Yeah, I think the event absolutely needs to become more professionally run, rather than just having some family members come help out. LPSCon is no longer a 15-person gathering in the park.
THE LPS KING HAS SPOKEN EVERYBODY SHUT UP AND LISTEN🙌👑 Seriously thank you so much for posting this dude, def gonna be linking it in the description of my video👏
Well said Eddie! I’m so happy I got to see you again, but I really wish we could’ve spent more time together as I feel i was so stressed and hot and tired the entire time I didn’t get much time to just hang out and enjoy between workshops, vending, meet and greet, etc i was completely slammed😵💫
This was a great video, and i am very happy you spoke up about it Cobalt. This con was a mess. We can all agree to that. I am very sad to all the people who had experiences at this con and to previous cons. I send you big hugs to all🫶🥺
Great video. Thank you for talking about it and saying that we shouldn’t let it die down. I definitely think we should keep talking about it and keep asking for change. I guess I can’t blame the convention team for not knowing that so much of the LPS community is neurodivergent, especially since autism is something that’s not exactly physically visible. However, after this year’s event, they should be well-aware of that fact. I’m autistic and I was able to handle the event, but it was still difficult. I absolutely understand if anyone wasn’t able to handle it. I don’t think my bag was checked at all. Besides the overcrowding, the lack of proper bag checks and security was my biggest problem with the convention. That could have been incredibly dangerous. I wasn’t sure if we were allowed to bring our own water bottles, so I brought some and drank from them (🫢) and no one said anything about it. 🤷🏻♀️ There definitely should have been some shade in the area with the food trucks. Waiting for 30 minutes in the 100+° weather was pretty miserable. I understand if shading was overlooked during the planning, but it should definitely be kept in mind for the future.
Thanks for talking about this, it sounds insane oh my god... I was really hoping to go to the next LPScon since I couldn't attend this one but hearing about it I think until they make this better I'll be going to some unofficial events instead. I'm glad some people had a good time and made friends anyway, but things have definitely got to change.
I kind of get the same feeling about how the event was advertised. That they always mentioned "get your tickets! we have xx passes left". I saw new posts every day from them before the con! Making so much effort in marketing and then having an overcrowded event, that most people didn't enjoy, makes no sense to me.
Ya it’s crazy!! From what I’ve seen in past years, they would cap off tickets and stop selling them but this year I literally met someone who said they bought their tickets a couple days before the event😂
Yeah, they definitely did that. I’m sure it was just a marketing tactic to keep saying that the tickets were going to sell out, and while I understand the importance of marketing, I feel like it got to the point where it was just lying, and untrustworthy. I knew they weren’t actually going to stop selling tickets for good, because they proved that they didn’t mean it, and they kept proving that. They definitely should have stopped selling tickets at some point. But it doesn’t surprise me that they didn’t, because they’ll take as much money as they can.
Yeesh. I wanted to go so bad as last year was my first ever LPScon, but hearing this im glad I went to the warrior cats Barnes & Noble meetup instead. (I barely got to socialize there and didn’t really get to do anything cause I was seven minutes late but I got a ton of books and got to see lots of cool costumes so, definitely better than going to LPScon.)
Passing out from heat is actually heatstroke, heatstroke is more dangerous and you could have died or suffered permanent damage. You were smart to go inside when you felt too hot
Yeah I also had Fun at the event but that's because I was lucky enough to With the Vip So I was just running around helping daisy and Handing out tiny glowing the dark dinosaurs. But also it was really sad cause there was a make a wish kid.And I know they had her standing outside for at least ten minutes and I know her grandparent was in a wheelchair. And they didn't have anyone like going around with her like usually how to convention. If there's like a special make a wish Person they're gonna have someone with them. I was the one who had the round up a whole bunch of creators to go say hi to her.
Yaaaaaaa. And they say they handled their “apology” or reaction to feedback was awful too. I feel like that part really just told me all I needed to know about the CEO and her staff🤦♂️
As someone who has been to a few cons (mainly anime and gaming cons in London) not allowing people bringing food and drinks inside especially in a hot place should actually be a human rights violation 😭 people can literally die because of that
