I had the gold and crystal versions - and there where times especially during a family gathering and supper time in which I never wanted to put down my gameboy because I was having soooo much fun 😅😂👍 👍
@@cesarferreira386that sucks man, sorry that happened to you. Sometimes I'd have to wait a few days when I let certain friends of mine borrow games I had ... but usually got them back a couple of days later.
@@EmbraceTheStruggle24 but I managed to buy them back almost 20 years later not in full boxed or mint condition but only the cartridges and also the ones that came for the 3DS so I'm happy now even do I lost my silver 25 years ago I got it back 😁
I cant believe this video only has 560 views it genuinely felt like a video made by someone who has millions of subs. Keep up the great vids and keep putting in this much effort and you are bound to blow up
For real tho I thought you had at least 100,000 but with how good the quality and the content are I’m sure you’ll be there in no time at all can’t wait to watch how fast your channel grows lol😂
I started in gen 1 but gen 2 was just amazing… 90s PokeMania was definitely THE time to be a kid… I have so many good memories carrying around my GameBoy Color playing these games.
Early era Pokemon hysteria was crazy to be a part of - especially as a kid. The only thing I wanted at Christmas time was a Pokemon game or Pokemon Cards (that I sadly didn't keep.....).
My first game was Yellow but my first game where I had some sort of semblance of what I was doing was Silver. Johto since then has always been my favorite region. And Cyndaquil my favorite starter. I remember my childhood pal had a GameShark and put a level 100 Scizor in my game and it was just the coolest thing I had ever seen. Man, what I would do to be able to go back and experience it all again.
Yeah that's how I feel - as I got older I started to understand the mechanics better so it made it easier to play and understand. Gamesharks were how I discovered events in Pokemon - especially in like Gen 3. Feels so weird it's 25 years on from GS
Gen 2 really surpassed all my expectations. Not only did we get new Pokémons and a new region but the game was set three years after the events of Kanto, day and night cycle, the Unown, ruins of Alph, the story around Ho-Oh, the red Gyarados, going back to Kanto AND getting remixes of the old Kanto themes was overall the cherry on top of the cake. Gen 3 wasn't as awesome but still delivered as well. Personally Gen 4 started to become more boring to me
Being the 1st sequel they took the 1st game and just made it better in nearly every way. Honestly I find it incredibly impressive (everything you mentioned especially!). Gen 4 has some issues, especially with DP - I'll probably do a video similar to this for it in the future to cover it. Still good imo, but has its issues.
I just recently purchased red, blue, silver, and gold along with Pokémon stadium 1 and 2. The Pokemon stadium games are the end game content. Especially in stadium 2. There is so much content to enjoy with your Pokemon from the gameboy games.
Pokemon gold was my first ever Pokemon game. I was 4 when it released. And 5 when I got my copy along with a Gameboy color for my birthday. It was truly something special. While I had no idea what I was doing it helped shape my love of video games as a whole and call it nostalgia but I will always hold a special place for this gen. It was thought to be the final game. I'm glad it wasn't
Similar age to myself when it came out - I think in general Gen 2 really showed the capabilities for the Pokemon world and what it can do. I'd defintely say Pokemon, Dragonball and Final Fantasy games really shaped my love for video games.
gen 2 is my all time favorite pokemon game, finally got my hands on a used copy of silver version, recreated my old team after getting the game repaired.
When shiny pokemon were introduced there were no people doing videos since such plattforms didnt existed back then :D but there were people breeding them that was a thing at schoolyard
Crystal is still better for the options and extras. I love playing as a girl character. It is great that you can get multiple same-color Bonguri Balls, and Suicune as a stationary Pokémon.
I did a ranking of the Gameboy games where I put Crystal just above Gold and Silver - It was difficult but I felt Crystal is GS just with a little extra!
I have such fond memories playing, going to Goldenrod City, grabbing Eevee, making sure it learned Bite and raising its friendship via haircuts, and items. Then, evolving it into Espeon. I also made sure my Eevee had Shadow Ball. Real good memories.
When I was a kid I had a bootleg version of Crystal. It was translated poorly (eg if you use a potion it would say "(name) used drug fuck" and it was always funny because I am 8) and it had a memory problem so there was a chance everytime you booted it up for it to just erase your save. It was frustrating because sometimes I'd get all the way to Kanto before the save got wiped out. But I was the only one in our class with a Gen 2 game so I was the cool kid. Is there a moral to this story? Not really. Stay in school, I guess.
@@rivalryyyy you best believe it. The best ones were Pokémon Diamond and Jade, which was another game altogether. It was Telefang, and it was a sort of Pokemon clone where you use a phone to call on your monsters in a given battle. It's p crazy
Pokemon Gold and Silver is 25 Years Old in 2024! What is your best memory with Generation 2?
I had silver but unfortunately dumb I was I borrowed it to a friend and never got it back I was so upset and mad about I didn't get the game back 🙁

Best pokemon games ever hands down.
I think alot would agree - and if they didn't they'd put HGSS in that place!
@9:13 the rival also trusted another trainer to do a trade evolution for his Kadabra and Haunter so they can finally evolve.
Excellent point!
If they remade this in the same vein as BDSP, I would be estatic.
Id be surprised if we got a Gen 2 one for a while unfortunately. Unless it's a Let's Go version.
@@rivalryyyy Same. Not sure I'd be thrilled for a Let's Go. Never played the first one because it wasn't geared for me.
