Amazing! My brother and I will be in Vassiliki start of next week! We were a bit nervous about the wind conditions, it doesn't show particularly good winds on Windy app. I quote my bro "We'll probably see a new cookie video popping up these next few days and see how the conditions actually are" and Voila! Excited to surf with the legend!
I also like the footage of the jibe in the end. I play it at 0.25x speed in a loop, so I can see all the steps you do in great detail. (Maybe an idea for you for a YT short) Personally, I am on the verge of a planing jibe. I notice you wait a little longer to flip the sail after the footswitch. Depending on the conditions, I will practice that for my next session!
I never seem to be able to set my sails to get the centre of effort to be stable enough to only need " micro " adjustements - i feel like Im moving, pushing and pulling all over the place just to keep planing and certainly never feel like I could easily take a hand off. Maybe an episode of setting a rig properly for easy control would be brilliant ( think i outhaul way too much 🤷 )

Cookie, I'm looking forward to seeing you in Vassiliki in a couple of weeks! Which forecast do you find most reliable for the spot (and is there one that actually factors in the thermal wind in the afternoon)?
Hiya! Hope you’re all booked up with me for coaching! So many factors affect the wind here… I use windy & wind guru. Looking for 8-15knots from the NW…it’ll then fire across the bay at 20-30knots in the afternoon! 👍👍
Thanks Cookie, great tips as always. One problem (of many ) that I’m encountering as I sail faster (in my case around 25kts) is my front arm is really having to push against the boom as the front of the (cammed) sail seems to be trying to get over the windward rail, what might I be doing wrong? Many thanks! 🌊
Thanks for watching! Cams a tough… I think the fact your asking the question means it’s not the right sail for you… go free race with no-cams instead…. It’s a common thing people get wrong when selection kit! Other answer without investing, nice the harness lines forward a little, pull on more downhaul, and more outhaul. Send me videos of you’re set up if you like?
Thanks@@Cookiesports , I'll have a play around with the set-up and let you know how I get on. All my gear is pretty ancient as I'm on a tight budget, saving up to actually have some post-2010 sails and masts......😁
Hi, at the end of this clip noticed, that when jibing, you placed your back foot far forward, just behind of the front strap. You did it because you had low speed and tried to keep the board flat during jibe?
133 carve board... What people often tell me: "a better windsurfer goes on a smaller board". I think this is wrong for many reasons. Maybe you can tackle this issue in a future video.
Yes, for sure… I’m talked about it a bit on the walk-along series. Will bring to Ride Along and Podcasts too. You’re very right though… people will regularly try to sail boards unnecessarily small!
The was wind very recently! Plus it takes me a little time to edit and upload of course! You’re in Vass now and haven’t booked coaching with me! 🥺 Forecast looking better for next few days.
I hope your forecast comes good. I'm with Club Vass do the coaching is integral. I do enjoy your videos though. It gives me a taste of Vass when I can't get there. Keep up the great work!
Love the driving analogy for understanding micro-movements 🙌 Also that flying fish was insane!!
Big video coming soon all based around this analogy! 🚗
You're amazing, thanks for adapt your teachings and tells us the easy way.
Thanks 🤩🤩

There's no bloody wind this week. How are you doing that blasting? Maybe tomorrow will be better.
